Title: 2.0 Frankie: Platinum Blonde hair?
Post by: Squirrelypaws on March 30, 2013, 07:03:03 PM
I just got a used 2.0 Frankie doll, and I noticed that her white hair seems to have a yellowish tint to it, making it look almost platinum blonde. Every other Frankie I've seen has had a blue-ish tint to the white hair.

I thought maybe this one was yellowed or something, but after combing her hair all out, the yellow tint seems to be totally even, and she doesn't smell like smoke or anything else that I would think would discolor her hair.

Did they change the white hair color from a "warm" white to a "cool" white at some point? Or is the doll I got just dirty/yellowed?

Have you tried to wash her hair? I've noticed this on one of my Frankie's & the white-haired werecat twin (never can seem keep 'em straight), washed them and it turned out to be the hair gel that was used.  :)

My black and white Frankie has this exact yellow issue. I washed her hair a few times but it did nothing. I got a second baity one to try customizing stuff on and it's hair was yellowish too in the light.

My Sig Frankie's hair turned yellow-ish/platinum over time, too! I still remember how much I loved the blueish hue to the hair when I first unpacked her.. so yes, the hair CAN change from blue to yellow. :,C
I have no idea what causes it, tho. I've always kept her out of direct sunlight, never washed her hair and hardly ever handled her either. :|

Could it not be due to glue seepage maybe??

I haven't tried shampooing her yet; I'll update when  I do and let everybody know if it stays yellowish. ^_^

Could it not be due to glue seepage maybe??

Possibly, but this Frankie's head doesn't seem to have any glue in it so not sure on that.
