Title: If you could find one pony in a thrift shop...
Post by: Prince Primbrose on March 30, 2013, 12:57:02 PM: If there was one pony you could find in a secondhand store- any pony, whatever condition you want, who would you want to find? MOC Mimic? A TLC Rapunzel? Which pony do you dream of finding?

Personally I dream of finding a bunch of MOC Mimics, or the international G4 ponies. Imagine picking up Star Swirl for 25 cents, heheh.

That's exactly how I feel about it. I'd love to find a bunch of old, unsold Mimics, but I'd need one mint out of the package to hold and touch.

This winter I found 7 G1s in a toy bucket at a new thrift store (and a ton of Remco-ish fakies that I left.) None of them were especially hard to find, but I felt great saving them.

For me, I'm hoping for a Rapunzel! WAAAY out of reach of my current pony-budget, but if I found her for $5, or even $25 at a toy-reseller stall...! *sighs dreamily*

Though anything is possible... I've found ponies from Blossoms and Peachys (Peachies?) through to Pina Colada, Sky Rocket, and even SS Satin'n'Lace at thrift. You never do know. ^.^ Keep your hooves crossed, ponies! :frolic:

I'd love to find the rare ones like the sitting Greek girls and Mimic, though I highly doubt it. On a more realistic note, any sea ponies (I do not have any yet), big or baby brothers, mountain boys or TAF ponies.

We'll have to see what the car boot sales turn up with...season really gets going soon!!

Actually I know of one person who found a white Limone on a flea market in Finland, so theoretically I perhaps have a chance?

Of course finding something like a MOC Mimic or Rapunzel or any G1 is amazing to me. But, if I'm just going with what I've LITERALLY dreamed about finding... not just wished to find, it's a Dream Beauty! :biggrin:
It hasn't happened yet but I finally did find some plastic horses, a Breyers and a Barbie horse at Goodwill. Perhaps it's a step in the right direction! :)

I was really into the winger ponies then (still am, but then it was a very big thing for me), she was at the top of my list -soo gorgeous with that purple & pink!- but I never bought her because online she was too expensive for me.

On my birthday, the last day I had before leaving for home (2k miles away!) for summer, I went thrifting, and found a Flurry in a bag with some fakies, just waiting for me!! :) She was NM with bright pink hair- such a great birthday present that year. ^^

So if I ever happened to stumble upon a single G1 pony, I'd be overjoyed. :D

I have a recurring dream though where I find a box of dirty-looking ponies at a bootsale. The seller wants a tenner, and there are small children poking about in it so I buy the lot unseen. Take the box to the car and find piggy ponies, loads of Spanish ponies and Ladybird...in my dream I am sat there pinching myself and my OH asks me "why are you doing that?" I say it's to make sure I'm not dreaming. Then, at the bottom of the box, is a beautiful pink and purple swirly pony that I have never seen before. I then realise in my dream that I am actually dreaming and wake up in a strop :lmao:
