I know that is not a pony brag, but I wanted to share it all with you. I am also not sure if I should put this in the Off Topic. Please move Mods if that is were it should be. I bought my house back in 2005 and everything was WHITE in the house. I did not mind it at first, but over the years it started to show its age. I bought new paint back in 2010 and my ex would not help me with it. So it sat downstairs till about a week ago. I started working on it and my hunny now finished it all for me and put up the new curtains and rod!!! I love how it turned out!
This is what it looked like when I bought it back in 2005.

Sorry some of the pictures are kind of hard to see, but the camera kept doing that with the sun coming threw. As you can all see I do not like a messy house........LOL Thank you for looking and let me know what you think? I do need to find some things to put on the walls. The Kitchen is NEXT! Below is a picture of the kitchen what I bought it. Very white!

Ohhhhh I'm such a house geek! I love painting, decorating all that.... unfortunately my house prettying money has been spent on ponies recently! I've been so naughty. I still need to pick up paint for the pony room and floors for the top level. and trim, oh how I want trimwork again.
I love the wallcolour you chose, much warmer and more cozy then the builders white. :) White walls can look awesome offset with colour elsewhere but after renting I've banished them in this house! Your drapes are quite sexy as well. Great job. Art- check out ikea, I find frames are very affordable they also have some prints that match up to their frames, or prints on canvas, but using other art I love getting their frames as they are so budget friendly. :D

Your house looks so wonderful! I absolutely love the new wall color!
-
That looks great. The new tones are much warmer. Nice work :D
-
Looks great! Congrats!!!
-
Thank you everyone :)
-
Great job!! We also refused to make our house all white though we went quite colourful on our little house :P (goes well with ponies) but i really love your choice of colour - elegant, but not dull! It looks really cosy :)
-
That's amazing :D! You changed your living space beautifully. I really love the color and how everything meshes well together.
-
Very nice! You have a gorgeous house and stuff in it. Like me, you like everything clean. :)
-
Thank you everyone for the kind words about my living room :) I really do like how my house is turning out. :)
-
I vote sunshine colors for a kitchen! :D Looking great! Really looks like a home now with the colors. I, too, hate renter's white.

Its amazing what a bit of paint can do :)

Yes it sure it!
I have a very pretty green for the kitchen picked out and sitting waiting to be done. I would have it done already. But painting is hard on me with my back and neck issues I got from work a few years back. I have changed all the pulls and there is alot more plants in the kitchen more from them pictures. My microwave also died that is above the stove. I have yet to take it down. I cant wait to get it all done and share that rest of it with you all. I am going to also replace all the flooring in my house and get a new sink with fauset. I am not sure how to spell that. Its going to match the pulls in the kitchen. This is so EXCITING!!!! :)

Your house looks gorgeous! I love the way you've decorated, too!
I know how you feel about the colors- our house was 100% off white when we bought it. We finally have 2 rooms painted..haha!

Thank you skyrocketneko, sounds like ours were alot the same. I know how you feel. It took me about three years to get the two bedrooms painted upstairs. And about 4 to get the baesment half done.

It's overwhelming, isn't it? We've had ours for a year and 4 months now, and have done a ton of work, but sometimes it just doesn't show that quickly!
Off topic- My house is enormous as well, so doing anything in it is tough! We got another king size bed the other day, and I swear I had to drag the queen size a half mile to move it to one of the other bedrooms!
-
Oh yes it sure it! And it does cost a lot of money to fix up a house. Mine is not to big. I am pretty sure its under 1000 sq feet. Not a big house at all. But it does have 2 full baths and will have 4 bedrooms. It has three right now.
My hunny had a king size bed and it would not fit in my room. So we had to keep the Queen that I had. I did like that king bed, lots of room! I would love to see pictures of your place :)
-
Four bedrooms is really nice! I love having extra beds to close myself off in if I want some privacy!
I do have some before shots, but no afters yet! I'll have to update them once the house stays clean and we get the frame for the king bed.
These are images of the house just before we moved in. Sorry there are so many- we wanted to take some good shots so we had before and afters available. It was super cheap on auction- the former owners were evicted and nobody even placed a bid on it except us. It's 4000sqft. You may want to start from the last page and work your way back. :) Then you can even see the outside.

I'm not sure if you can see, but the carpeting was just disgusting. We replaced the whole upstairs carpet and it took me weeks to get the bottom level cleaned. We had to spend quite a bit just to move in- aside from other things, there was no fridge and some of the walls were also damaged. Our next step is the kitchen floor. The wood is in pretty bad shape. Our decks are also dangerous and outside of code.

Wow. It'll be beautiful when you're done I'm sure! You already had a lot of nice features to work with. Ours is a small "starter house" but reno dollars still add up, but it was so gross, NASTY carpet which is gone downstairs. Foam backed and was glued to the subfloor and a nightmare to take up- but I did it! One floor to go and not looking forward to it. The walls weren't well done, lots of various old wallpapers, bad paintcolours and some had cheap 70's paneling. Got almost the entire place stripped sanded and painted, new flooring on the main level. Two bathrooms to paint, and just the pony room to add a wallcolour to, I did all the prep and priming already. Need trim for the entire house, flooring for upstairs and trying to think of something to do with all the stairs- they're awful. I just put in cheap click on the main level and plan to in the hall and bedrooms on the top level as well, we did a careful job so it looks better then I thought and it's so easy to keep clean.

WOW!!! That is a very nice looking house!!!
WOW! You sure did a lot in your house! Good luck with it all :)
-
Very nice. I can't stand plain white walls (and at work I currently have a huge one across from me, ick).
-
Thank you, I LOVED your project and the pictures you shared. :) Hopefully you share again once you paint the kitchen, green sounds beautiful!
