I recently got that 'normal size' white Celestia & Pinkie Crystal Empire Pack (not giant talkin')
I love that they made her white...its the only way I'll buy a Celestia anything. However, I also like keeping stuff in like "original condition". (This is all that's kept me from painting the straps on the ballerina's shoes...aaaaah)
But if you look on the back card, it shows that those 'shoes' or whatever she wears are gold on THAT toy.
NONE of the toys on the shelf have the gold. They're always just unpainted...and it doesn't look as good in my opinion.
Even though she's brand new, should I paint these feet/shoes things gold/yellow?
Would that be considered "messing her up"? I mean, at least then it'd match the box/how she's "supposed" to look. Has anyone painted theirs? I'm totally itching to do it.

I'm going to paint mine, if that makes a difference to you. I already tried it on a McCelestia and it looked so amazing I also painted her crown gold and added shiny paint to make her gem look realistic! She looks truely regal, and I think that's how she should look.

It seems to be really mass produced, so I doubt there'll be a run of that particular Celestia. If you want her to have golden booties, do it up!

I'm thinking of painting them when I can get my hands on a white one. It wouldn't bother me so much if they weren't sculpted on the hooves; it just looks wrong. :huh:

I just painted mine with golden nail polish :)
It looks nice, and it is easy and safe to remove if you don't like.

I'm not doing it, so I wanna see. I have all three Celestias (by mistake) and the pink one with the painted boots is my least favorite. I think I just don't like the paint they used. So I wanna see someone elses.

I say do it if it bothers you that much. If you change your mind, you can always either take the paint off, or just find a second one for your collection that doesn't have paint.

Paint it unless you want to keep it MIB. In that case don't paint it.

She is mass produced and will be relatively easy to come across in years to come so in many ways they depreciate in price as soon as they are off the shelf. For that reason whatever you do to her I dont think you should worry about devaluing her - you really should make her the way you like her the best.
I have never understood painting her boots the bright gold, but the pale yellow as per Oaks amazing Celestia pictured here I think looks lovely!

Both the paint jobs are beautiful! I personally prefer gold over yellow since I just think it makes more sense that that's what she would be wearing, but hey, since I don't have (or plan to) own Celestia I'm not sure how much my opinion counts. I've been planning to paint my Luna's booties to be silver though (I don't even recall what color they actually are in the show) and I think adding paint just overall makes the ponies look more finished. Sort of like a DIY project!
