Title: A Raffle to benefit Reed -- WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

I am hosting a raffle, with the help of some fabulous customizers, to benefit tiella and her son.


"My son Reed was born in July 2010 after a normal and healthy pregnancy. On delivery day we had quite the shock of our lives when he was whisked away to All Children's hospital an hour and a half from where we live due to unknown health issues. After he had been home several weeks after his stay in the NICU we got a call from the genetics doctor telling us they wanted a meeting with us. We found out he has a partial duplication on his first chromosome and it is attached to his fifth chromosome where there is some material missing. So far they have yet to find another child with this exact match of abnormalities.

His medical situation is unpredictable; he writes his own book. He is considered disabled already, does not crawl or walk and only started sitting a few months ago. I do not work outside my home, but spend most of my week taking him to therapies and doctors appointments. He has a multitude of medications and has had numerous surgeries. He has heart issues, hydrocephalus which they installed a shunt for, skin problems, vision problems, feeding issues and only knows a smattering of words with little communication skills. There is more, but I won't bore you with all of the medical stuff. He is a joy and the absolute light of my life alongside my other children.

I am currently 5 months pregnant with another boy, and with the encouragment of Reed's pediatrician we have decided to bank our babies cord blood so that it can possibly help Reed in the future. The cord blood bank has generously decided to knock 50 pecent off of our costs because of everything our family has been through and Reed's medical situation."

All the funds raised for the raffle will be donated directly to the cord bank, to be applied to tiella's cord banking fees!

This raffle will run from now until April 8 at 1 PM PST

now...what can you win you say? we have a pool of prizes to choose from!!

First Prize gets to choose their winning from our pool of fabulous prizes!
Second Prize will choose from the remaining prizes in the pool!

as we sell tickets, we will add more winners!!!.....if we hit 200 tickets sold, we will add a Third Prize....if we hit 350 tickets sold, we will add a Fourth Prize...500 for a Fifth....and so on :D

ETA: We are currently up to 15 Winners :D You are all awesome!

I love that they're using the cord bank!  I know it's such a touchy subject for many so I'm thrilled to see something so positive in regards to it!  Besides that Tiella is just awesome and her son is cutest thing on the internet right now!!!  Money sent.  I'm pretty sure you'll know it's from me!  Lol!  After payday I may be able to send some more.  The cause is dope and the prizes are awesome!  If you get to the point where you're going to add some I'd be happy to donate something too.  Maybe a repose?

I just want to say thank you to all my artist friends who decided to put this together for my family after hearing about us doing the cord blood banking. I also want to say thank you ahead of time to all the people who have and will donate. I am so touched by this gesture. The thought of having a brand new baby in a few months warms my heart and the thought that through this medical technology we may be able to help my son Reed someday makes me so happy. This kid has been through so much since he was born 2 1/2 years ago, but he is the sweetest and happiest child you will ever meet.

I wake up this morning after the first decent nights sleep I have had in about a month (Reed has been sick off and on for weeks and is finally getting over it) and I am nearly in tears over the generosity I see here. I am so touched. If we're.able to after taking care of some wedding bills, I'll be making another donation, and if I get the too performer prize at work for the month I'm going tobdonate a good chunk of that, nic and I love nothing more than to help out with causes like this,. I love my pony family here, you all were so amazingly kind to me when I was having a rough time a few months ago and I'm more than happy to pass that fuzzy feeling along.

That being said, I want to contribute too, I don't have time to do a custom, but if you want another prize, I will offer up any custom that I have done that is up for sale on my website at the time the auction ends. Thank you! The picture has a sweet story behind it actually. Most families not only take pictures of their new baby's (we took tons), but at some point usually do a few proffessional sessions. Reed had issues with strangers and odd sounds and stuff in public so we skipped the pictures. Last summer a local photographer decided to start donating one photo session to special needs families every month and we won the first month. It was nice because it was at our pace and not in a cramped and scary for Reed studio.

Ladies and gentlemen (even the ones lurking in the background!), I want to thank you all for your kind words and support for my wife (Tiella) and son, Reed. I was away at Navy reserve drill today, and periodically would get updates from the wife as to how high the ticket count had gotten, and every time I hear what it's up to, I'm still amazed! Yes! I at first felt bad because I can only manage $5, but then I stepped back and thought "No. It's not 'just 5 bucks', with everyone else's '5 bucks' that's going to add up real quick and I can say I helped someone totally awesome!"

I just wanted to tell you all how much my husband and I appreciate this, I can't properly put it into words. This community is amazing! We decided to do the banking and were fully prepared to find a way to pay for it ourselves, but Jupi knew of our whole situation and wanted to find a way to help. We live on a one income budget because of Reed's health issues and the need for him to have around the clock care from me and this money really made a difference for us. Once again thank you so much!

I'm so glad we could all help.  All our little bits have come together and made a difference and That's something ridiculously special if I do say so myself. I'm completely fascinated in the most supportive way I can try and think of about all of this: the idea of having something so unique and pioneering on the cards;  I can only imagine having to make those incredible decisions. I really wish you all the very best, and especially little new mini-you for a happy birth and the amazing gift to potentially help big brother Reed! Can't wait to read all about it! x

Also, I am not opposed to another person getting drawn. >_>;! I mean, there's plenty of prizes left! (Seriously though, if there's prizes left I don't see the harm, be a nice surprise for someone! I honestly couldn't care less since I donated to help out and the prizes were an after thought to me.. XD)
