Yeah, I wanted to bid, but I knew that people were going to see them, and I'm sure they'll end for more than I could afford. So I am hoping that they get a general release.

I've been wanting glittery ponies, but I only really wanted the main six as glittery ponies. The reason I say this is because if they release new characters as glittery ponies, we might not see them released again later as normal ponies. And I'd always rather have a normal brushable over any of the other types (i.e. Glimmer Wings, Shine Bright, etc).

I'm not thrilled about the glitter, but an OC pony is always refreshing to see in my book. Plus, I just adore Pinkie's black balloon. It can make me over look the glitter. lol

I dunno how I feel about them. On one hand, they are cute and sparkly. And I'm always happy to see new characters. On the other hand, I don't really like the glitter over the eyes. I guess I'd have to see the final released editions before deciding. ^.^

I'll do my best and search page by page these ponies, though I'm strating to think they are not on taobao
also, the seller from ebay wrote on the tittle and description that the ponies where g3, I have a feeling that he actually knows what generation that ponies are from, but still...
on a sidenote, I remember I saw a pic of the black ballon pinkie pie some time ago
on a extra side note, if somebody here knows of certain taobao shops that sell ponies could PM me to make a better search, as I tend to find rare ponies in this way
I wish I could order ponies for you all, but then again, shipping fee from my country to other is extremely high so we could instead make a group order with the help of somebody who is used to do this kind of things

Yes I agree..glittering only the outside of the pony and the eyes to me just doesn't look right. Its just lazy workmanship. I did not mind this so much with the blind bag size...this should not carry into the brushable line.

Aww, I saw these earlier and was so confused and really hoped y'all would be able to clear it up, but no, confusion everywhere. Totes in favor of Wyesteria joining the party, though, if this is anything more than someone's random home painting job.

So glad to see a new (to G4) character, and new hope for translucent ponies! I wonder what the numbers printed on their hooves are? It'd be really great if they had a later number than the previous translucent ponies, to know that they were newer.

They look regular size though (and the auction says 3") rather than fashion style so it would be a bit disappointing if just one of them was the SDCC/fair exclusive. Unless they're planning a set?

I don't think they'll be SDCC exclusive. At least not Wysteria, as last year's one was brony aimed. If they decided to make a collector aimed one it would probably be a different character. *Pokes Minty*

I don't see why they wouldn't make a Pinkie since it seems to be their popular default for past Fair exclusives. Maybe they are doing something for the 30th anniversary involving a set of past generation ponies as sparkle G4s? Of course that could be just wishful thinking.

Well, the auction on these has ended, Pinkie went for $87.66 and Wysteria went for $182,24 :shocked:

OMG! I hope these get a wide release and a few more new characters. Don't care for the glitter pasted to the outside of the pony (that stuff gets all over the place, like in my eyes) but it's something new and I'm sure I could get the glitter off with hot water soaks. :frolic:

Wow. I knew that they would be up in price, but I didn't think that Wysteria would go that high. I'm glad I didn't bother to bid. Congrats to the winners, but I really hope I can find them for $5 a piece somewhere down the road. lol

Wow, Wysteria went for more than the translucent Fluttershy and AJ that were listed recently!
I hope if someone here on the Arena was the lucky winner of either they will share their thoughts and maybe some more pics of these girls!

My complaint about glittery blind bags is a little different - I'm more annoyed by this obvious non-glittery patch all around the eyes and symbol. Hopefully sizing them up will help with at least one of our complaints! Although, hopefully it might just be the angle, Pinkie seems have the Huge Margin Of Glitter Avoidance instead...

I am pretty fond of the shimmery look of translucent surface glitter, though my blind bags don't have to put up with heavy handling. They both look so pretty - already kind of itching for customs, even though my only experience so far is with a McD's toy!

Wow, both Pinkie and Wysteria look so awesome! I really hope they'll be released soon, though hopefully not with the glitter over the eyes. It might make them look really weird.

They're both really pretty, but of course I'm partial to the new character! An earth pony with unicorn eyes! I love her!!
I'm just worried that we'll never see them in stores... Taobao is a blessing and a curse. It's fun to see what's coming, but it's pretty depressing to see products that never make it to the shelves (Minty, Sweetie Blue, translucent main 6)....
Here's hoping they're actually released. With no glitter on their EYEBALLS. Seriously, what's that about?

I completely agree. As exciting as it is to see prototypes on ebay and taobao, it's so very disappointing when certain ones never come out in stores and not knowing when, if or where they may be released is frustrating. :think:

That's what me and Unicorn_pops were discussing as well. Mrs. Cake and Baby Molasses, who were made after these, are flooding in from Taobao and a ton of eBay sellers, but these were made earlier, and we've only seen a few. Even Ditzy Doo came in from a few sellers, but so far we've only seen 3 sets from this one seller, not even on Taobao.

Yes I second this thought...there are some ponies which got store releases but turned up on Taobao in limited numbers. Starbeam Twinkle and Sweetie Swirl, while available were not in stock with as many sellers or in as large quantities as many others.
I will continue to hope they get a release but I dont think I ll be stunned if they turn out to not be released. And instead Wysteria is simply the next unicorn in our now "main 5" playful ponies waves.

yeah there weren't many sweetie swirls in taobao, and the amount of star swirls I saw was limited too

people, how do you find those ponies on ebay?? like, what do you write on the search tab?
because writing "my little pony G4 rare/prototypes/anything like that" has helped me find them ;n;

Very true. Ebay works very different from Taobao as we know. On Taobao you will get a "stock" total and be able to watch the number of items sold. Even if there is some looseness in the accuracy of that total sometimes. On ebay ists up to the seller as to how much and what they sell at one time.
Perhaps the seller is sitting on a stack of them...only time will tell I guess.

I mean it's obvious there are some very clear levels of knowledgeability. In general the sellers on ebay seem to know what they have a little bit better, but there's still a range there too. I know one seller who lists each pony by name, even fan names, so they clearly keep up with things really well, and on the other hand there's a seller who literally lists EVERYTHING as "MLP FIM BLIND BAG!!" lol. There's a downside there though, the less knowledageble seller just lists a ton at a low price, the more knowledgeable seller tends to auction just one and if it sells well, jumps her prices really high :huh: so we really have nooo idea how many there actually are for sale when they're listed one at a time.
I think the fact that we're seeing Wysteria at all is a good indicator of their release. If they were just tests, it seems unlikely they would branch outside the mane six and take the time to design a whole new pony. Creating prototypes is expensive and generally not something you do all willy nilly. You have to have a real interest in it going forward. With all the versions and characters we've seen now in that glitter form I think the chances are good we're getting an eventual release.

Just wanted to point out too that my Wysteria had the glitter over the eyes and now these last two listed do not? So maybe we will see them as a release since changes have been made? I'm hoping to see all the glitters packaged in a set together :)

I really hope so. I would buy all main six again for the glitter variants. Wisteria is one of my favorite g3s. Her colors and symbol are perfect.

a few time ago I proposed this idea on the forum, but not many people believed on the posibility , not saying that wysteria or the glitter pinkie were the ones I mentioned, as I just proposed that one day some chinese seller would do this, and as I said that time, the starting price of the auction would be the same, because they clearly know that the price would end up quite high
and you can see they have kept the price (or around the same)

I am dying to see if she lists any more tomorrow. Given that there have been two pinkies now and no more Wysteria ponies- she may have run out of Wysteria... but how many more Pinkies? It is interesting that no other seller including Taobao sellers seem to have these- but like a few have pointed out, some ponies never did hit Taobao very hard if at all.
I wish we knew what relation the Wysteria/Pinkie have to those other limited runs of crystal/clear ponies. Were they all part the same limited run? Are these updated versions that will actually be released now?
They are so cute that it seems crazy that we won't see some kind of crystal/clear pony eventually- a set would be pretty fun...

Sara-bee has a set that she purchased directly from the seller so you can add one more to each. I'd love to see a glitter/translucent set released but still just curious where wysteria fits in?

I dont think they can be related directly exactly as the same production. The clear/glitter ponies which we saw several months ago had production dates right at the start of the line and these newest ones are January if I remember correctly. So they could certainly be a second or third or forth attempt at the same concept or they could be a brand new angle.

You are right and I just realized that they look really different too.
These are either going to be way limited (like the handful of Frosted Fluttershys and Raritys that we saw back in 2012) (was there another besides these two?)

Or they are the fore-runners of the design that they finally worked out - and will be mass produced.
These recent ones also look a LOT like the current glittery blind bags- with glitter on the outside rather than internalized like the Fluttershy above.

I wouldnt feel stupid about buying her even if she turns out to be a release. Way back when Minty first appeared people giggled at the money being spend to pick her up on ebay...until a couple of us pointed out that there was no guarantee she was going to be a released pony so perhaps she wasnt worth the $5 everyone suggested but actually the $300+ she was selling for.
You never know...even if we do get any kind of release along these lines there is no guarantee it will be the same. Taobao is a gamble...you win some times and you loose other times. And as long as you love her, then at least if she is released you can claim to be one of the first to own them.

I don't care one bit if I spent to much on the wysteria or pinkie. I love'd them and got them. If more are produced, I'll buy them again in packages. :) And I think, the numbers from my two that I provided, I was told they were made in Dec. 2012
