I found an excellent condition dream castle on etsy complete with Spike, Majesty, and most, if not all accessories! She's asking for $40 plus $30 shipping (!!!) :shocked: I requested a better shipping quote but anyways, is this a good price to pay?

That's an awesome deal! I've seen them go for $200 easy.

That definitely sounds like a good deal. Generally the price is higher for the castle, and for the shipping. Does it have its original box?

Unfortunately no box, but honestly it doesn't sound like a bad deal!

(Wasn't me, I have three Dream Castles already! And international shipping would be killer anyways.)
You're best off not mentioning where you're buying something when asking for a price check, if you haven't sealed the deal yet. It may well have been unrelated though, lots of collectors watch etsy and similar places for ponies.
For future reference, that's a pretty decent price, and yes shipping is likely to run you as much or more than the castle itself. It's a BIG play set. Not on the order of Paradise Estate, but still pretty darn big.

Someone probably saw it anyway, and saw it was a good deal so they snapped it up. :) $40-$100 for one at least near complete with no shell damage is a good price for the set. I picked up one needing a good clean (and the castle had been up for sale for months) for $40. Another good deal will come along again for you.

That would have been a good deal if it had most of its accessories and with the recent rise in postal prices, considering the weight of DC, I dont even think the shipping sounds super crazy.
The reason we have the no linking to auctions rule on the Arens is partly to prevent something similar. However, as others have said there are lots of collectors who do not tread the Arena boards so its perfectly possible someone else jumped in and snagged it. I agree with posting just for a general PC and not a source of the item...just in case - remember non members can read our posts. :)

Thats a good deal. With the box you would pay wayyyy more. Sometimes when I am doing a PC I act like I have the item already to avoid someone running and grabbing it. It is a public auction though...so anyone could have gotten it. Do not worry, I see very good Dream Castles on ebay often.
