Kiwi, if I ever get to visit my in-laws again, I really would love to swing around to your neck of the woods and say hi. They're in London. Maybe we could go to Buffalo again and visit ChibiSkittles too.
i thought everybody wore white sock. didn't know it was centralized to certain countries. To be honest, I believe that wearing white socks is more of an American than a German thing, is it? Those white, thick ones. Grey around the toes, separated from the rest with a thin red line. My ex (from Michigan) had tons of them, and all my other American friends, too. Even the goths. However, average Germans without American friends aren't aware of that.
learned something new?
I'm half Norwegian and half greek, though born and raised in Norway. We're not part of EU, so nothing from the list fits... I hardly see any other Norwegians on the Arena - Think I've only seen one since I began looking :P
Put Australia on there >.>You should pick Oceania, it's the one that contains Australia in it. :)

/Doesn't know which one to pick xDD
I'm also from England. Though were not really EU people.England... how I envy you. I'm quite in love with your country!
Many Germans (and probably also many others...) would prefer to get out of the EU, too. Even though the German government tries to create a different picture. And I'm sure we're not alone in this.
I live in Madrid, Spain. And I have been to: Japan, USA, French Polinesia, Germany, Belgium, Holland, London, Ireland, Scotland, Italy and Switzerland. And I hope I can travel much more and visit all those places I'm still missing! That are a few! ^^Many Germans (and probably also many others...) would prefer to get out of the EU, too. Yeah, here in Spain we too want to get out of the EU.
Fun prank for Americans: get a can of root beer, offer it to a non-suspecting German. Enjoy the reaction!* (http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=de&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=de&ie=UTF-8&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fusaerklaert.wordpress.com%2F2006%2F07%2F29%2Froot-beer-oder-wie-man-deutsche-und-amerikaner-unterschiedet%2F)
--Spoiler*) The American author believes that root beer reminds Germans of something their dentists use. That's only partly correct: it reminds us of a concoction of mouth rinse, cough syrup, nail polish remover and unidentifyable contents of great grandma's medicine closet. Our shock is enhanced by the fact that we expect that brown, foamy drink to taste like malt beer or cola.
I loved to drink root beer when I was in Oklahoma and I'm so pissed I can't get it here anywhere :(Verräter! What the heck is wrong with you?!
Scotland!I spent my honeymoon there (the area around St. Andrew's, Glasgow, Edinburgh and a short trip to Inverness to visit Nessie and the Isle of May to see seals and puffins) and had a wonderful time. Even bravely ate a spoonful of haggis. Your country is absolutely beautiful!

...
:snicker: ;) :P
Right now I am living in the province of Zuid-Holland in the Netherlands. I came into the country as a wife of a skilled immigrant, lol. Since then, I have been working at the same company, same job as my husband, so who's the skilled immigrant, now?, haha :P in am from the province of Ontario, in Canada.
It is really cool that there are people living around where I am from and close to me now.
@Moonbreeze, wouldn't be funny if we were neighbours and didn't know it?
I can put it in the poll if there a term for those general areas. Scandinavian? Slavic? Would those work?
I voted Eastern Europe because I live in Croatia. It is difficult to put it anywhere because it is on the border with Central, Southern, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (aka Balkans), so people usually tell Croatia is in the part they most associate with or like. Some just say they are from an Ex-Yu country. I feel special because I haven't noticed any members from around here :P
And as for traveling, I've seen a lot of Europe and I'm hoping to see even more of it and travel overseas
You forgot Antarctica :|
You forgot Antarctica :|
Huh?! I'm pretty sure there are no permanent residences there. So you're either a penguin or a research scientist. ;) And according to the poll, you're not the only one!
Balkane, Balkane, Balkane moj :)I voted Eastern Europe because I live in Croatia. I'm from Serbia :D And yes, I also have a problem with defining our location so I usually stick to Balkans :D

I think we have a few leg-pullers here. I know of one member in the pony community who spends time in Antarctica, but never heard claims in the past by others.
Finland, Northern Europe. Voted Scandinavia since it's the closest alternative, that general direction, y'know. ;)
Maybe I need to set up lots of polls about countries.... :wonder: There's only a few hundred, right? ^^;You do that, then we'll see how many people feel left out because you forgot their country :P
Irish through and through! (no red hair and freckles though...and I don't drink....there must be a kink in the bloodline somewhere! ;) )

*waves hello from Cork*
Scandinavia - Finland
This is a very interesting thread. I love reading where everyone is from!!
I'm in Ontario Canada...London to be exact. Haven't visited many places, a bit of the States that's about it. I loveee Ireland and Scotland and I'd really love to visit one day....maybe move there but I doubt it lol
I think it's funny how everyone thinks it's boring where they live while other members would love to live there *smiles* isn't that always the way.
