I never thought something like this would happen. A package that I sent off during the summer of 2006 was returned from the post office. It is in good condition from the long jouney. I'm not sure what on earth happened, nor can I recall the details of the old transaction. From the best of my memory, the buyer never alerted me to the fact that their pony went MIA. I'm going to see if I can track the owner down. (It was a G3 birthflower pony.) This isn't really a complaint - I just found it surprising.

OMG!
What a surprise!
-
WOW!
-
That is really strange. O_o Return to sender, okay. But why would it take over 6 !! years? Good that you got it back though - better late than never. And here I thought it was totally weird that I once received a package one and a half years after placing the order. When it arrived, I had already forgotten about it. The package had been mailed to Australia instead of Austria (a common mistake, and a very time-consuming one).
-
Whoa, that is insane. Maybe there's hope for all those packages that went missing over the years!
-
Wow, that's pretty incredible!
-
Says the reason was it went unclaimed. So she never went to get it. Looks like it may have gotten misplaced in a mail room or knocked over behind a shelving unit or something.
-
That is so weird! If only the box could talk.
-
How weird and awesome that it made it back after all these years  I wonder why the buyer never picked it up or said anything about it? What G3 birthflower is it?
-
Poor girl has been sitting in the dark for years! She will be glad to get out and see the light!
-
That's so crazy!!! If only she could talk and tell us of her adventures!
-
wow after all that time?! :whoa: :faint: thats so weird! its such a shame we'll never know what happened to her inbetween!
which pony is she? I'm sure she'll be able to find a new home :) *has BF ponies on my wantlist*

*has BF ponies on my wantlist*
Same here, that's why I'm curious, hehehe ;)
-
This is the funniest/craziest story about the post office ever. I'm so glad she's finally going to come out of the box.
-
whoaaaaaa that is something!
-
That's so weird...
-

6..... 6 years?!?!?!
That is INSANE! I'm like.. jaw dropped shocked! lol Please free the pony! That's a long time to be couped up all alone in a box! I bet the buyer forgot she bought it, missed the delivery and never picked it up. Poor little Pony!
-
Wow, that's crazy. Way to go, USPS. -rolls eyes-
I'd definitely see if you can figure out who the buyer was...maybe they still need that pony in their collection, lol. But thinking about why they never picked it up or said anything about not receiving it...maybe something suddenly happened to them, like they got sick? Or maybe even something worse...or maybe they didn't realize they had to pick it up from the PO and were too scared to tell you they didn't get it? I'm very curious.
Maybe someday I'll get that box of G2s I was scammed out of never received years ago...
-
Wow thats just incredible! :ack:
-
Being Australia, It probably went to the wrong address, and they forgot to re-send it. This happened to me soooo many times when our PO changed hands.. they seriously had no idea!
-
Wow :dropjaw: That has to be one of the craziest things I've heard. That pony had a nice vacation. Good luck hunting them down!
-
far out, hope it had a lovely scenic trip around the world a few times!!!
-
o.O that is kind of amazing! I wonder how it could have sat somewhere all that time with no one finding it. I mean, it's not small like a letter, which could understandably get caught in a machine or fall behind a shelf XD Perhaps this is one of the hidden silver linings of the changes with our postal system? Did it just show up at your door with no note from the post office? You'd think after 6 years they might at least say "sorry, our bad" haha!
-
Crazy!!!! But it gives hope!
-
Whoa!!! Six years?! That's super crazy.
Now I have hope that the mint Scrumptious that never got delivered will be sent back to me... Hmmmn. :P
-
That's amazing that it came back after all that time. Sometimes these stories are the best. There was one in the UK about a postman who delivered something based on a hand drawn map. The person didn't know the address properly, but knew how to depict it on a lil hand drawn map. Epic.
It's good they didn't go "oh, 6 years? no one's missing it now". Good for them for sending it on!
-
Haha, that is crazy! If you can't find the buyer you should ebay her as "the pony that traveled the world for six years" :P
-
She (March Daffodil) was actually sent to my parents' as I used their address for the return label since I was in-between moves. Otherwise, I don't think I would have ever known as I've moved a couple times since then. There wasn't any sort of note accompanying her and the box wasn't in bad condition. I haven't been able to find her owner yet though.
It's good they didn't go "oh, 6 years? no one's missing it now". Good for them for sending it on!
LOL, yeah I was thinking the same thing. :)
-
WOW!!!! That was a long time!!!!
-
oh my goodness!!!!!! That is hysterical!!! I ordered about $200 in german G1 comics like 5 years ago that never arrived..... maybe there is hope for them yet!! :P
-
That is amazing! Too bad the package can't tell you what happened to it lol
-
Oh my goodness!
I once had a parcel that took 8 months from Canada [airmail!!!] but 6 years that is epic. I have hope for the Quackers that never reached me and the couple of ponies I have sent out who never made it to their destination...maybe one day *dreams*
-
woah!!! thats amazing!!!
-
Whoa. That's the most insane story I ever heard.
-
That's quite impressive.
I have had TWO that I sent to Italy returned back to me after about 2 years. God only knows what happened to them but 1/2 the padded envelops was missing, it was all taped up and the ponies were basically destoryed and there was all sorts foreign stuff written on it.
-
omg thats was a long time
-
That's pretty crazy, but I may actually have that beat!
I saw an add for an item in a magazine that I got in 1989, and I scraped together the money and sent them my order and payment in mid to late 1989. I never got my item, and eventually gave up on ever getting it. I was home from college the summer of 2001, and I was picking up the mail one day. It's just junk mail for my parents, a few random stray bills, and this one yellowed letter with a bunch of postal stamps on it including several "Return to Sender" marks. The address was in my childhood handwriting. It was the missing order, and it only took 12 years to make it back to me!
-
Does this restore everyone's hope in the postal system ? ;)
