Title: New Flavors of Lays Chips!
Post by: beagleluva on March 07, 2013, 06:28:45 PM
I don't think this has been posted already...if it has I apologize...

Has anyone found the new lays chips yet?  My brother and I have been searching around NY and we haven't found them yet.  I'm dying to try all three flavors!  Apparently they're selling online for obscene prices but I refuse to buy them that way :P

We've tried all three here. I like the chicken and waffles the best.

I'm a purist when it comes to chips.  Plain or salt and vinegar only.

They all sound foul to me lol.

I like just plain ol' chips or BBQ.  But a lot of BBQ chips have malt flavoring in them, so I don't get to eat them anymore unless I find some gluten-free ones.  *le sigh*

Garlic Cheese Bread is AMAZING! We had them at Meijer here in Michigan and they were only here for like three days and now they're gone!

I miss them..

I only saw them once at Walgreens. The cashier was trying to upsell them while walking up to check us out. She was like, "If you ladies need any weird-flavor chips, we have some by the cash register."  I didn't get any though.

What are the new flavours? I don't think our stores have them up here.

I think its a US thing...I remember the BF saying something about lays not selling chicken/wafles up here because our tastebuds/preferences make it so that the flavour would not be popular.

I didnt know that they had introed 3 new flavours..though apparently dill pickle is a Canadian only thing o.o

It was like a contest or something, there are three flavors: Chicken and Waffle, Cheesy garlic bread and Siracha. personally I've only tried the chicken and waffles which I found to be grroosss XD

ALL or my coworkers had them the other day, they had like a weird chip party and were passing them around, still need to try the other two. I'm a bit more hopeful about those.

I didn't know there were dill pickle Lays! We have Screamin Dill Pickle Pringles though, which I love. :P

Haven't seen them yet but (siracha) hot sauce chips just sound like any spicy jalapeno chips so I wouldn't waste my money. Cheesy garlic chips sound ok but not original enough for that waste of money either. I tire easily of orange processed cheese product. I would probably like chicken and waffles chips as I like that combo. Its more original than the other two anyway.

Ugh, I tried the chicken and waffles at a friend's house a few weeks ago.  They were awful.   :X

They're the best of the 3, for sure!

But they're still nowhere near as good as the Classic BLT flavored ones.  We can't have those in my house.

I love chip flavours!  Next time I am in the states I will have to try them.

Here in the Netherlands, they have some different Lays chips flavours that people made up for contests. A year or so ago, "Patat Joppie" won, and they are making it all the time. The flavour was designed after a mayo/curry flavoured dipping sauce that is popular here. Pretty tasty indeed!

Then recently they had another contest, where the 3 contestants' flavours were Garlic Aioli, Reggae Chicken, and Whiskey Cocktail. Whiskey Cocktail was the weird one out of that bunch, but it still tasted great. I thought the best one was the Aioli, but the Reggae chicken won. It was also tasty though.

It is so funny to travel from country to country. Everywhere has different chip flavours!

I went from Plain, Barbecue, Salt and Vinegar, Ketchup, Dill Pickle, Salt and Pepper, Cheese, etc in Canada, to Plain, Ham, and Bolognese flavour. I think ham is the default flavour for snacks in this country, lol.

My local stores all have the dill pickle ones, and also the ketchup ones.
I want to try the garlic cheese bread, that's like one of my favorite foods ever. :P

Nah, we have those here in Oklahoma.  They're very vinegary!

They must be rare or something, because none of my local stores have them!

I want to try chicken n' waffles, it just sounds so weird!

Oh I want to try the chicken n waffles and the garlic cheesy bread ones. I don't like peppers, so I'm not interested in the siracha ones, which are, of course, the only flavor they had when I was in the store the other day.

We have them here in Oregon too. My best friend is from Canada, she misses the Ketchup ones.

Hmm. I like trying weird flavors just for the heck of it. :3 Next time I go shopping I guess I should go thru the chip aisle. (I really don't eat too many potato chips anyway, nor do I care for artificial flavor-- but curiosity always gets the best of me).

I know japan has some crazy chip flavors P: Oh how I wanna try them all...

Ugh, my husband has been eating those too.  They smell AWFUL.

On the GOOD tasting chip front, last week I found chips that taste like guacamole and salsa.  Haven't tried the salsa ones yet but the guac ones didn't last long!

Oh yes, I saw the commercial for these new chips and have been dying to try the chicken and waffles kind! My dad is going to look for them next time he swings by the grocery store.

I wonder just how many chip flavors are out there! My friend once went to a chip factory and was able to sample all kinds of flavors. I think she said there were even pickle flavored chips!

Now I feel a lot better about not finding the chicken and waffles one yet! :P  Still want to try them but its not the end of the world if I don't get to...

I've had ketchup before...amazing!  And the dill pickle pringles were really good too but I haven't seen those in forever.

Yeah, it was a contest. They asked people to submit flavors and now they have chosen 3 and I guess they're gonna have votes on them next or something..
Either way all 3 flavors sound completely disgusting. Awful choices.

I'm not really a fan of strange flavored chips though. I had breakfast and prawn flavored ones (from Norway I think) and they were like.. blehhhh.. lol I fed the prawns to my dog. Surprisingly the breakfast ones tasted JUST like a mix of every breakfast food. They were still yucky but amazing at the same time. Hahaha.

I can't believe some of you are having trouble finding these. They are in like every store here..

I've tried all three, and the Garlic ones are the best.  I don't like hot stuff, and the chicken and waffles are just plain nasty.  I almost puked from eating just one chip. I LOVE ketchup chips, but the only time I can seem to find them around here is close to summer.

I've only tried the chicken and waffles and thought it was very disappointing. They were rather gross. I'd try the sriracha, but having firsthand experience with how spicy it is, I don't want to attempt it. :P

We're not big snackers at our house; I pretty much live and eat at work and my husband doesn't want to gain the weight. But I knew there was a contest or whatever... I had never heard the flavors before!! Chicken and waffles?! What the heck?? At least the other two sound... normal... And I never knew that there were so many other flavors available, either! That's neat.

A couple of weeks ago we brought home cheddar and bacon chips. Those were awesome. Apparently they're served at the TGIF restaurants. Hubby said he'd had them before but I hadn't. Loved 'em!

Chicken and waffles is a big southern US thing. I've never had the combo but I see it all the time on food network.

I think they're testing them in high population areas. My local Safeway had all of three them, although I think they only have Sriacha now (blech!).

To be honest if I'm going to have chicken and waffles, I want the real deal and not potato chips!

I've never actually had real chicken and waffles, but it sounds good. But how is it eaten? With maple syrup?

I'm not a big potato chip person, but once in a while I do like the dill pickle flavored ones with a sandwich.....but that's only if I don't have any real pickles available. :P
