Title: I need a pony stylist!
Post by: Yuitsu on February 05, 2013, 07:41:32 AM
Is there anyone (preferably in the UK) who could give my rerooted Flower Bouquet her original hairstyle? I've not been able to manage it :(

What kind of hair did you use and what have you tried so far? I'll help if I can.

I use dollyhair, so it's proper stuff in the right colours and everything. :D

Because it seems to be just one big curl in her mane, I just can't seem to get it to go. Her tail doesn't seem to be curly to match, just wavy. I think I can probably do her tail with the right size rollers, but not sure about her mane at all.

Theres a couple of good photos on mylittlewiki

You should be able to use one big roller. I use perm rods to style because I feel they are easier. Wet down hair and put a hair roller paper (or paper towel works in a pinch) around the ends (kind of like an envelope so ALL the hair will roll up) and roll around just ONE medium sized roller. Take boiling water and pour on hair. Let dry and that should have you. Hope that helps?

Ahar. What sort of size do you think, in mm? I'm not great at judging size >.>

BarbedDragon pretty much said it.  I'd be inclined to say... a 28 curler but I'm not 100%. Maybe a 25? Other thoughts.

I would say about the size of your thumb, unless you have really really big thumbs lol. I don't know what my big perm rods are. I think between 18-20mm maybe? Basically the bigger the curler the more "wave" you get instead of a smaller curl. Judging by her original curl this is more of what you are looking for.

Maybe using cling curlers was the wrong choice, it's not holding once I unroll. Hmmm.
