I don't recognise them :/
-
searched it but no pony pics
-
try again, there are pony pics
-
There are 7 listed. The etsy title listings are:
Sky Rocket-Vintage My Little Pony 1985
Baby Moondancer- Vintage G1 My Little Pony Unicorn Baby 1984
Cha Cha-Vintage My Little Pony 1988
Sherbet- Vintage My Little Pony G1 1987
Baby Stockings- Vintage My Little Pony Baby 1984
Baby Cuddles- Vintage G1 My Little Pony Baby 1985
Baby Beach Ball- G1 Vintage My Little Pony Baby 1984
-
None of them are mine, but I recognize that Cha Cha picture from ebay. Unless it's the same seller on ebay as etsy XD
-
I doubt the sellers are the same... because that Baby Stockings picture was taken from an entirely different ebay user :yikes:
ETA: The Sky Rocket's seller is entirely different too :drunk:
ETA2: They stole from 7 different sellers :throw: They stole 1 sellers pics twice, and used 2 different stolen pics for their Baby Cuddles listing (one NBBE and one BBE  ). All of the sellers are on ebay too.
-
It says the store was just opened today! OMG! Hope no one falls for this!

None of them are mine, either but I recognized that Cha Cha pic, too - I think it was on eBay relatively recently?
-
 That Sky Rocket is mine!!!
What should I do?
Can I report it?
-
Oh no Whippycorn!!!
I hate it when people do that, someone pinched a load of my MLP pics last year on ebay, I didn't even bother to contact them I told ebay and within 24 hours they were gone. I do not use etsy so I am unsure about their picture plagiarizer policy. Hopefully someone with more etsy experience can tell you what to do x

I'm sure you can get in touch with the etsy team and let them know or message the seller first. Maybe this thread on etsy will help?

there is a report this item to esty link on the seller items page
-
Thanks for the advice.
looks I have to sign up for an etsy account just to report some @~!*# who stole my picture. Not happy!

Well the report system doesn't seem to have a 'this person stole my picture and is probably a scammer' option, so I have sent the seller a strongly worded message instead. Hopefully they will realise that they have been caught out and will remove the stolen pictures.
One thing I will say for Ebay is it is easier to report this sort of thing to them.

I think so!
I do not understand why people steal pictures. That Cha Cha is a little manky looking, why steal that picture? Do they have the same kind of ponies to sell and are too lazy to take pictures of their own so they just steal someone else's? Or do they not have any of those ponies to begin with and are trying to scam people?
-
Sky Rocket's pic is moved as she is allegedly sold. Oddly, this seller is in my town. Don't recognize the name though.
-
I hate it when people do that!!!!!!! :(
-
Hhm, well I hope it didn't sell. It seems a bit coincedental that it 'sold' shortly after I told the seller in no uncertain terms to take down my picture. She hasn't replied to my message though. Hopefully the owners of the other pics will see this post too.

i wrote to her before you and mine is still up (baby beach ball) so its likely it did actually sell...
grrrr
-
Hmm, does anyone need a Beachball?
-
All of those other pictures other than Baby Beachball are from eBay. Just search their name up on there, and you'll find each.
-
Thanks for letting us know! :(

Most likely they do not have any of the ponies and are trying to scam people, yes.
Sometimes people are just too lazy to take their own pics, wich is also very misleading.
-
I had notified the sellers on ebay and one of them just got back to me saying that when they checked the link, that the pony was 'no longer available'. When I checked the seller's etsy site just now, all remaining ponies have been removed :)
-
I just checked also and the listings are gone. But it does show that Sky Rocket as sold.
I really hope it was just a matter of being lazy and not someone scamming.
-
I'm very glad to hear all the listings with stolen pics are gone now , but it is worrying that someone might have got scammed out of a Sky Rocket :(
-
I feel tainted by the idea that someone used my photo to scam someone. :( I'm glad the other listings have been removed though, at least no more people will get scammed by her.
-
Back when I was selling stuff- I got frustrated by the many pic thefts (mostly people who are lazy I think)
What stops it completely is to watermark it or just insert your Ebay seller name right onto your picture in an area that can't be clipped out- yes they can still remove it with work, but it is harder for them to say they didn't think you'd mind...
-
Oh no! I bought baby beach ball from her this afternoon! I had kind of a nagging feeling about it what with them having no feedback and a brand new store. I should have listened to myself, especially on such an impulse buy! I checked her store again and all her pics seem consistent to me as far as the background goes, but I didn't see the earlier ones. I'm praying she was just too lazy to take her own pics.

Aw, sorry to hear this! Please do keep us updated though as to whether or not the pony shows up on your doorstep. I hope she does!
-
I hope you do get your pony. :(

I would open a case. Especially as she is using stolen pics - you don't even know if she has a pony in hand to mail you. You know for SURE you won't be getting the one in the photo.
-
That's a good point lovesbabysquirmy. She marked the pony as shipped so I think I'll wait a bit before I open a claim, but I'll defiantly open a case if she takes more than a week to arrive.
ETA: Do you think I should email her, just to kind of voice my concerns? Is that a stupid idea? I've never had to deal with something like this before so I'm panicking just a little
-
My own feeling is that the seller was just being lazy as the new photos are all consistent now but of the same ponies that were up before. I would probably wait but I also understand you panicking (as I would feel the same). Sorry - that probably wasn't much help. =\
-
I just wanted to let everyone know that baby beach ball arrived today! She's actually in very nice condition too. Looks like she was just lazy, but I'd still be cautious.
-
That's a relief!
But hopefully she won't be so lazy and just steal people's pics again.

Good to know :bigups: of course its still not good that she was stealing pics but at least she did send your pony

Good idea! I've seen several sellers do this and I like it because it makes them memorable, but it never occurred to me they do it to protect themselves from photo thieves.
I can understand why some sellers might find it easier to copy and paste a photo from, say, Google images... but unless you're selling an item that is brand new and looks exactly like the stock photo, you should snap the pics yourself. With vintage toys especially, people want to know EXACTLY what they're getting.

not many left. that i could see.
