Title: *puts on some music*
Post by: SourdoughStomper on January 18, 2013, 06:51:17 AM
Occasionally, we'll listen to the actual radio, especially if we're interested in local news. However, most the time I'm listening to my MP3 player. I even bought a few new songs on iTunes last night. Dukes of Dixieland, Frank Sinatra, Kool and the Gang, Bobby McFerrin, and so on.

You?

I really only use pandora, and occasionally Di.FM for my music needs.

I adore my local hard rock radio station. The DJs are hilarious and entertaining, and they spin awesome tracks.  :satisfied:

I listen to the radio, CD's, & my iPod....there's no option for that! :(

I tend to avoid the radio, there aren't any stations that play the kind of music I like. About the only time I hear the radio is when I'm in my car, and that's because it's so ancient a radio is all it has for music options.  XD

I listen to the internet radio. I find its conventiant for me. I don't really like a ton of ads that any radio station has though. I find myself going to another channel very quickly. I also really don't like it when a station plays the same stuff over and over again. ugh.  >_<

I do! When I bought my Kia Sportage 2 years ago, it came with 3 free months of Sirius radio. Since I bought my car in June, the offer expired at the end of September. My birthday is at the beginning of October, so for the past two years, my parents have paid my Sirius bill as my birthday present since I'm kind of hard to shop for. Lol.

I have one program in local radiostation, that I listen every sunday since 13 or 14 years, the choice of music and personality of the presenter are that awesome. Other than that mostly CDs and MP3s.

I use Spotify and my own MP3s, and listen to audio books, but never the radio.

I used to al the time when I was in high school. Not so much now- mostly my Ipod. I seem to live in a black out zone for most radio stations, unless they are local. The car has Sirius radio bit even then, there are spots around here where there is no reception

I tend to listen to FM radio on my way to work because my husband is usually in the car with me and he'll complain if I put on my iPod. When I'm driving and he's not in the car, the iPod goes on and I blast it!

I listen to FM radio while walking to school sometimes. I like the morning show on my favourite station. I don't even own a MP3-player and I'm too lazy to put music to my phone.  :P

I listen to radio talk-back every day on my way to work.  My favourite host is changing jobs in March this year though and I am going to miss him so much!  He is my voice of sanity in the mornings.

almost always have the radio on - there's this channel here that plays lots of interesting music and has a ton of informative and educational programs that I enjoy listening to. :) it's the channel that all the old people and the information nerds here listen to, pretty much. you'll never hear so much as a hiccup of a pop-culture song on there.

as for actual music... CD's only for me.

No. I used to have this favorite station that mixed old and new music very nicley but then it decided to be like all the others and only played the latest hits with the occasional 90's song. It didn't go well with me so I stopped listen to it all together. I listen to my mp3 or on youtube.

I wasn't quite sure which option to choose, heh. While I do listen to quite a bit of "radio" (1-4hrs/day), most of it is talk radio. My show (A&G) is on 6am-10am, so though I will listen live if I happen to be in my car during that time, I mostly listen via podcast (does that count as internet radio?). For music, I mainly just stick to my ipod and the occasional CD, but I do have a station or two that I tune into occasionally.

Regular AM/FM for me, but I have started to listen to my CDs more, as one of my favorite stations is now just talk radio, and the others are playing the same songs over and over again.

I mostly listen to my own stuff, but now and then I tune in to some online stations. Regular radio stations around here tend to be... boring, to put it nicely. If I'm driving, though, then I might turn on the radio, and it's not all bad, just need to do a lot of surfing  :P (and on some rare occasion they might even play some good music.... like 'Doctorin' the Tardis' by The Timelords O_o )

Radio for us, both at work and at home.  Though at work it's all pop, at home we vary between classical, jazz, rock... whatever suits our fancy at the moment. ^.^

I miss whatever station it was that used to rerun old radio programs in the wee hours of the morning!

I usually listen to Sirius, but not right now because I need to renew my subscription.  Otherwise I listen to a heavy rock/metal station called Real Rock.  I also listen to CD's, my iPod, music on my Macbook Pro, Pandora and Spotify.  I listen to music pretty much anywhere I can get it, not to mention all the live shows I go to.

I usually don't have time to listen live unless I'm in the car, but will listen to certain radio shows on the BBC i-player - Elaine Paige on Sunday, Paul O'Grady, Friday Night is Music Night and the David Jacobs Collection.  I'm quite fussy about what music I listen to (I hate modern music for the most part!), so other shows tend to drive me mad.

I also listen to CBC Radio One Pacific's live stream while writing blogs/e-mails late at night, "On The Coast" being my favourite show.  (Got to love those Canadian accents - and it's the easiest way to keep up with the news over there too!)

Heh, there's no "all of the above"?

I listen to Sirius in the car, CBC radio for the 10 minutes or so after my alarm goes off in the morning, and then my own music the rest of the time.

I don't care much for radio unless it's satellite or Pandora.  In the car, I plug in my iPhone. :3  Other than that, I'll listen to what's in my iTunes or my vinyl records on the big stereo downstairs. :3

I don't listen to the radio too much. When I go on long distance trips I usually take my boombox cassette player with me. If it's just an errand downtown I listen to the radio in my car, which only get's AM :what: It does a good job though. I can pick up a classic country station  in Iowa!

I sometimes listen to the radio in the car but I can't stand listening to people talk in between all the songs so I generally just listen to old mixtapes (yep, still have a tape deck in the car) and at home I'm either playing songs through iTunes (a lot of which are ripped from my CDs but I don't have a stereo in my room anymore) or my vinyl collection. And I like a lot of different kinds of music.

And I use my iPod (on my iPhone) on the bus.

Sometimes I'm in the mood to have someone or something else choose what I listen to, so I'll listen to a lot of online radio. I subscribe to JazzRadio.com, listen to a lot of minimalist ambient stations, and tune into Soma FM a lot.

I love music, but I dislike German radio. Their music selection and the endless bla-bla is just annoying. So I just listen to mp3s and CDs.

I usually have my old iPod in the car and of course my iTunes on my computer, but when the iPod is charging or I forgot to bring it or I just can't decide what to listen to, I turn on the radio. Usually Top 40 or Rock, though there aren't really any decent rock stations any more. I'm old and boring :)

Yes I listen to music when I ride out at work (occasionally sing to the tracks) there is only so many times you can go out in the horizontal rain with only a horse for company.

but never to the radio especially if I am in the car. If I want to listen to some person talking I will take a passenger along for the ride

I love going to my local CD shop or Half Price Books and picking up used CDs that are difficult to find. Usually I try to stick with buying the ones on sale for $3 or less but every once and a while I break down and splurge on the regular priced ones that run around $7.

All I listen to is Pandora... lol, soo 2009 right? But I have two absolutely amazing stations that I've "trained" over the years to be just my style...

I have a station called "80s cardio" - which hardly is, but is mostly Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Motown and Funk Music (and LADY GAGA! Woot for having that somehow get played on there but it does and it's great!)
And also a "Rush" station which is amazing classic rock like Rush, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Journey and others of the same like.

Those are my two favorite stations... like ever. And my car uses bluetooth to connect to it off my phone (doesn't have Pandora in the radio) and so I just get to listen to it wherever I go! :D

I for the most part only listen to my own MP3 player. Only tend to listen to the radio if I'm in the car with my parents, or when I'm at volunteering since all the animal areas have a radio in them.

We have a normal FM radio in the kitchen which is tuned to the local station for the news etc. It is turned on during most of the day. I sometimes turn on FM radio in my room, but tune to the different station which has better music and shows for my taste.

Almost always my iPod. Love it.  :hearts: Being able to create my own playlists is wonderful. Do occasionally still play the CDs or MP3s on iTunes. Having a speaker for the iPod though makes it so I have it going almost constantly when home and if I'm not home I take it and my headphones with me.

Once in a great while I'll fiddle with the radio. Generally to find a classical station for a little bit or around the holidays to listen to Christmas music. Although really even those I listen to mostly on my iPod. Just simpler honestly.
