Title: Toys R Us did some digging around...

...and found these hidden somewhere.

Seems a bit late.  They're actually impressive little playsets, I think.  Actually, this reminds me of the time I went to Walmart in a neighboring city and they had a G3 Pinkie Pie sitting there among the G4s.  Not a 3.5, but a 3.  I hate myself for not snagging it; heck, I hate myself even more for giving G3's the cold shoulder back then.  They hadn't yet wormed their way back into my heart since I gave them up in middle school...

But enough of that.  Have you seen this happen in retail stores, where they stock older generations or current generation ponies that aren't being produced anymore?

My grandma says she finds the g3s / g3.5s she gives to me as gifts from Rite Aid. She found Starsong (g3.5) and she found Twilight Twinkle in December.

My main toy shop here - the one that gets all the new ponies first even though it's technically the smallest shop! - still has G3.5 ponyville figures and brushables, the hope is that parents will either get them thinking they're current ponies, or that because there's more in the playsets than a single pony kids will still want them vs a brushable.

They are sweet, I've gone off Ponyville recently, I can say that their overall quality was much, much better than the blind bag range of G4!

I loved the Ponyville sets.  My girls have a ton of them.  I haven't seen them in stores since the G4 line came out.

Yea, right after Christmas my local Walmart put some G3.5 sets out again, maybe they ran out of G4 stock?

I actually keep seeing these - especially the Mermaid sets - in TKMaxx, which is a discount/end of line store. I do wonder if I should grab them and hide them for a few years as well!

funny how the stuff is being reused on the G4 , the pizza is on the Slumber set/AJ-Stardream, the Fridge is on the  Canterlot Castle set from Target :)

I see the mermaid sets quite often in TK Maxx stores over here...if I ever spot the Dolphin carriage though - it is coming home with me!

Our local TRU has G3.5s still also; mainly Ponyville mermaids but there was also a Sweetie Belle.

I haven't seen any g3 for a while now. My store is pretty up to date with everything.  If I actually saw some I'd have to squeal with fascination and joy.
