So this new Pinkie just popped up on my favorite news site:

She's only on eBay right now (and it turns out is bigger than a regular release but smaller than a Fashion Style, as per the auction description).
Sounds awesome, right?

Look at that. They even gave the FiM version the same G3.5 standard brush, and the same blue body squigglies. XD
I gotta add those pics of the G3.5 book updated with FiM images soon.

Ack, I wish they'd stop re-using G3 ideas.
I knew about the car and guess what? Didn't buy it. There are still tons of them on store shelves. It couldn't have been that popular.
I won't be buying this either. What the heck? Pinkie Pie with swirly randomness printed on her legs? NO, stop being lazy Hasbro.
I dunno maybe the "target audience" ie. kids would like it? :huh:

I love that they have copied her even down to the leg markings. Is she definitely not FS size? It seems really expensive for HB to have created a mould for one product which is hardly going to be a market driver.

I kind of like her swirls, I just wish there was more of them because her design looks a bit bare.
And that Hasbro would stop their lazy one side only printing, but we all know how likely that is.

I agree, I think she'd look way cuter with more swirls - like a G4 TAF or something. I wonder what the G4 hairbrush says, it'd be really weird if they didn't change the spoken lines at all. :blink:

The pony itself may or may not be supplied by Hasbro, but the set itself is not distributed by Hasbro >.<

Ok I skimmed over the part about a size difference before. ^^; I looked up the ebay auction and there is a comparison pic with a regular Pinkie Pie there. That's...weird. I still don't think I want her. :sigh:

At least they made a new mould size! Supposedly "exclusive" means they won't be shoving this Pinkie Pie into other sets.
I've already got a Pinkie Pie army, might as well add to it.

Color me unimpressed by the blue squiggles. They look like something you'd find on a CD of free clipart.
Are we SURE she's bigger than a regular brushable? Either she's not much bigger or else that is one massive hairbrush.

How are we not at least some of the target audience? I can see re-releasing the Mane 6 every few years as little girls age into MLP who were previously too little/not born, but I can't even see the "target audience" of little girls wanting 20 different versions of the Mane 6, nor can I see their parents being willing to shell out money for the eleventybillionth Pinkie Pie when "you already have one just like that!" (Who remembers that from childhood ?:)) And their "target audience" also watches the cartoon. I remember being a little girl and wanting the characters from the movies and cartoons that I watched. So I can't imagine that the little girls that MLP is aimed at aren't wondering why they can't have a Big Mac to go along with Miss Cheerilee.

Whadaya mean "from childhood? " I'm 27 and I still hear "Don't you have that Pony?" from my mother all the time. XD
I spent a while explaining to my Brony friends that Hasbro rarely listens to the older fanbase and will gladly sacrifice us to pander to its perceived target audience. Still with all the Brony pandering they keep missing the mark. Hopefully the baby steps they're taking will snowball and we can finally find a happy medium of collectors/Bronies and kids.

Re: the set, I don't care for it. I will cry with laughter if they have used the G3.5 voice in there and people expecting Pinkie will get the gumball-duckfaced-goosh that was G3.5 instead.
Re: Hasbro giving a spare buck about collectors... They don't have to.
Why are they releasing the Mane 6 all the time? Because little girls/little boys/bronies/everyone else will come into the show at different times, and will go 'Oh hey! Twilight is awesome! I wonder if there's a toy of her?' and then they - or their parents - will happily impulse buy the Mane 6 at $5 a pop. But if the Mane 6 aren't there on the shelves then Hasbro has lost sales. The non-Mane-6 ponies appeal to the impulse fans in some cases (Trixie) but not all, and as such they're more shelf-padding than actual sales. Collectors may want them, kids may not. think of how often loose G3s and G4s end up on eBay because a child has gotten bored of their toys? They are a $5 throwaway item, blind bags more so aside from the obvious choking hazard problems.
Oh and I don't think they're meant to read these boards as part of market research anyway. I'm not sure they're even allowed to as part of their job, people working on the animated shows definitely aren't meant to be here.

There's no reason people working on the show couldn't be here. Two of them were in the past but I haven't seen them lately. There's also an animator active on the Allspark Transformers board.

I don't think she is FS size, maybe an in between... but even with a normal Pinkie there it's hard to be really accurate XD

I saw this posted somewhere and they had noted that she was between brushable and fashion size, but a new size nonetheless. Not as small as brushable, but not as big as fashion style. Maybe more like the size of the brushable princesses I'm thinking?

Apologies for the mis-sizing. She looks bigger so I assumed she was in a size I knew, which is fs. Lol.
I haven't any idea where she is being found, when she's coming out, what she's coming out for and whether or not there will be others. I was hoping ppl here could help me out. Lol.
I like the new size if there is a noticable difference between them and the fashion size, otherwise its just a slightly shorter fashion sized and no different them buying a fashion sized, except less accessories, and a brush that talks, and who needs that?(I know I'm debating whether I want it or not, I keep telling myself I'm to old why does my hairbrush need to talk? Lol)
I am so sick of the main six, I like the tinsel version, just cause they are different but hate the tinsel in their hari(still aren't sold on getting them, lol). I wish they would start making the blind bag ponies in brushables. Hopefully they will, I need some bright colored brushables.

Wow, I thought she was just a regular playful pony, the fact that she is between brushable and fashion style sized is very cool! Even if it is just more main 6 (and Pinkie Pie, even), it is a pretty neat to see a new G4 pony size.

Hasbro is notorious for reusing things such as accessories. If I recall some of the previous sets for brushables had accessories from the G3 line as well. In other words they are too lazy and don't want to spend the money to make a new brush mold for this set

At the moment...one showing on ebay! I am hoping it gets as wide a coverage as the earlier version though.

I suspect it will show up in Target in the US., since this is a KidDesigns toy.
