Title: Draculaura, a little red, a little goth
Post by: jupiternwndrlnd on January 03, 2013, 09:35:55 AM
I made this dolly for PrincessofDrakness
her red hair is nylon "cherry pie" (dollyhair).
her tattoo, faceup and under-corset are done in acrylics.
and her skirt and corset are made from ribbons and fabric.

Gorgeous! You did such a wonderful job on her, I can only hope Mattel makes Lala with this color scheme someday.

Oh gosh Jupi, she looks amazing like this! Those lips sajkfdjs ; I love that dark-to-brighter-red ombre look so much on her, what a fantastic touch! She looks gorgeous done in red and black, and those piercing blue eyes pop against the red eyeshadow. The tattoo and corset theme are so cute too. That intricate little bat! :faint: Beautiful, I bet PoD is so thrilled!

I'm really loving what you did with the lips. Do you mind if I do this on a future repaint?
She's gorgeous!

d'aww thanks guys! I am really happy with how she turned out....and plan on all my dolls having the "ombre" lips with dark liner (my gold Abbey had it too....with brown to gold....much more subtle) tho i have to say, the tattoo was my favorite part to paint....i guess because it was reminiscent of a pony symbol! (and her tattoo was inspired by some bat lace i found)
the skirt took me 3 different tries, I was soooooooo frustrated!!  but I LOVE how it finally came out (third times the charm, eh?)

ponyseeker -- thanks for asking. I just got the general idea from...well...makeup trends XD  tho I will warn you, it was a major pain in the butt - LOL

Wow, very pretty! I especially love the way you did her lips , don't get me wrong I like Lala the original way, but honestly I think she looks better this way then factory made.  Also the detail on that tat is awesome! I don't think I would have had the patience or steady hands to do it. Great job :)

I absolutely ADORE her  It was worth the wait - for weeks Jupi has been almost bursting for her to get here! She is absolutely gorgeous... Jupi is so fabulous
Also, I now think I NEED her chestpiece as a tattoo somewhere ^.^

I also love the black liner with the red. I love dark liner with lighter lipstick, it gives a certain edge. I want to do that to a doll myself.

Welp, this confirms it! I'm mid reroot of a red Lala, and I've been feeling a little 'meh' about her, so this is great motivation to finish her up.  She looks amazing Jupi!

Jupi:  I've got a few ideas rolling around in my head, but no skillz to see them come to life:(  Do you take commissons?  The work I'm interested in is small and simple (compared to your bat tattoo, which is perfection, BTW) so much so you might do it for free ;)  Kidding of course!

I tried a faceup on Adabella with red and black lips as she's a werecat, but once the sealer dries I will see how it truly turned out.

BEAUTIFUL!  If Draculaura had been released like this, I might have bought her!

I like Draculaura and have a signature version of her.   She looks more like a true vampire now.
