Does anyone have all 12 Alternate Birth Flower ponies? Or does anyone have a picture of all 12 together? I want to see them! :lol:

I have all 12. It took about 4 years of aggressively searching to complete the set. There are actually 13... December/Holly has 2 versions: red leaves/green berries & green leaves/red berries. I'm still missing the green leaf version.

Beautiful pic! I never knew Holly had a variant. Is one more common than the other?

Im not 100% sure, but I think Holly with red leaves was sold in the Scandinavian market & Holly with green leaves was sold in the Aussie market. It makes me wonder if there aren't other differences between the 2 locations. They were sold on completely different cards, so it's possible that they were made in a completely different production run.

Hey, Mimic was sold in the US, but I've never found one in 15 years of pony hunting at yard sales, flea markets, & thrift stores. Keep looking & maybe you'll be lucky one day. :bigups:

:dribble: Beautiful! I may try to collect these girls once I have a few more of the Argies I want!! All the ones I have seen either have major flaws like haircuts or are $500 so it would take a while, I'm sure. Of course, I don't mind re-hairing but I know it's probably considered a sin with a pony that rare ;)

On average, I paid $120-150 each. The most I paid was $250 a piece for 2 of them (one was totally mint & the other was my long awaited Violet). Many of them have flaws of some sort. November has a pretty serious hair cut. I bought most of them from members here on the Arena. They are a beautiful set & even with a few flaws, they are one of my favorite parts of my collection. :biggrin:

They're lovely! I can't tell from the pics, but did you rehair any of them?
Also, has anyone noticed that some of the birth flower flowers changed from G1 to G3? Some are the same but I know mine (September) is two different flowers, and December changed from holly to poinsettia. Wonder why? I never even knew there were official birth flowers before ponies made them.

None of them are rehaired. I don't actively collect any restored ponies (rehairs, ect.)... unfortunately I've had a few restored ponies sneak in because of dishonest sellers, but that's another story.

I currently have 10 of them... I have owned all of them at some point, but as I kept selling and trading them, I never quite had all 12 at once! I am hoping to get the 2 i still need to have a complete set sometime in the new year... I might be tempted to sell them, but their prices have dropped so I don't know if I want to. :/ who knows, though... I love this set, but it's far from being my favorite.

kitkatvintage, thanks for the article. That's a pretty cool resource. I lucked out in that I like all the flowers given for my month (September) mostly because they are purple, and I love my birth stone (Sapphire, affording one is a different story.... maybe if I didn't spend all my money on ponies :lol:)

that's the goal! just got to keep an eye on local lots and frequent the charity shops... I'm missing february and march now. used to have them, but sold them. XD

They're so awesome! I have the regular set, er, plus and extra May because she sort of snuck in. I like that the May flower stayed the same all the way through to the G3 line as well.
The easiest way to 'collect' these girls if you really want them is probably to get someone to make custom ponies of them for you, it'd be far easier on the bank - and the insurance - and you could always swap the customs out for the real ones when you find them!

i too have them all :blush: well... i stil need holly with green leaves & red berries. its odd how what i'd call the 'normal' version of alt bf holly with green leaves seems to be the harder to find one. aaaand i didnt know i had the red leaves / green berries one til about a year after i bought her. shows you how much attention i pay to my ponies, lol :P

Aus got UK Princess Sparkle - in fact Australia got a lot of the later Euro sets - Hasbro Aus was similar to Hasbro in Scandinavia - they actually bought in from Hasbro UK; they didnt commission lines they bought from other Hasbro subsidiaries.
And KKV - that is my dream...*sigh* I will track some down this year!

I think that's how I've gotten a lot of my sets. I start out wanting one or two, my completism gets the best of me, and the one I *really* wanted is the last one I find! :)

I can vouch for this. I'm in Australia and my very first MLP was UK Princess Sparkle with the fibre optic crown. I also used to see the ponies with roller skates and nag my mum for them, but I never got one.
I also got bedtime newborn Stargaze from an Easter Egg one year from my Nan, which was so awesome when I was young. Chocolate AND a pony!
I would love to have the alternate birth flower ponies, they are so lovely :lovey:

Oh my goodness - I am SO glad that someone else remembers this! I remember getting Baby Stargaze in an Easter egg as well, but then no one else in the collecting community seemed to have heard of this, so I was starting to wonder if I had just imagined it!

Yep! I got Newborn Baby Stargaze and my cousin got Newborn Baby Sunset :) I remember it as it was my favourite Easter Egg ever! She came with a hairbrush, however I am unsure what it looked like but I think it's colour was pink?
I've recently seen my birth flower pony up for sale, Lily of the Valley, it's a shame as I have just moved so do not have the money spare to purchase her. She is so beautiful!
