Okay I want you all to go smell your UK Tutti Frutti's right now! I'm not joking! She is scented. For some reason I picked her up and sniffed her and she smells like fruit! I love scented ponies.
Is this a new discovery or did I miss something? I can't find it on any site that I've looked at so far. This is soooo exciting!
Now get to sniffin' and tell me I'm not crazy!
-
Wish I had one to smell! All my ponies just smell like pony, or coconut conditioner if they've had, er, aroma issues upon falling into my hooves.
I'll keep an eye on the general consensus, though, and thanks for sharing the discovery with us! ^.^
-
yes I can confirm that yes she does have a fruity smell I love it.
-
Mine just smells musty
I must admit I check all my ponies for nice smells.
-
Mmm... my one doesn't smell :( I've been blitzing her in the sun sunfading her the last few weeks so maybe if there was a smell I've burned it out! :P Can't say I'd ever noticed one before sunfading her though?
-
Oh! I hope thats true...alas neither of mine are scented. I have checked her box and there is no mention of a scent but that would be great if she was meant to be scented.
-
So one confirmed. Anyone else sniff their pony?
-
O.o I think am going to have to go smell mine...
-
a lot of ponies were quite fragrant, even ones that were never sold with fragrances. You're not imagining anything. Many of the So softs 85' that I get NM retain their candy-like scent reminds me of "rockets" (from the glue I'm guessing). :) That's my favorite thing about getting a box of barely played with ponies stashed in a box for 20 years, they often still smell so good. I haven't gotten a really good tutti frutti (both of mine were quite dirty/played with) but I do believe you about that pony having a scent to her.
-
Mine smells... kinda lime-ish. Huh.
eta: After sniffing ponies in the same vicinity, they all smell like the shampoo I use for them, which doesn't smell like Tutti at all.
-
You should see me, I say YES every time someone agrees! lol
-
Anyone else sniff their pony?
I just wanted to say I laughed reading this. Haha :silly:

You can ask emery, I have a strange problem lol!
-
lol! Now I want to go sniff my ponies, but they probably all smell like shampoo since I wash almost all of them upon arrival (unless they're pre-cleaned and styled or from a trusted source... all eBay ponies get a thorough scrubbing to get rid of potential grodies)
-
I've got two Tuttis. One does not smell of anything, the other definitely smells fruity! How did I never notice?
-
Huh. I never realized she was scented. I'll have to drag my girl out of storage and give her a sniff. lol :)
-
i don't have this pony, but i do have the g3 choc chipper, and a couple of the other scented ones that came out around then. after a thorough scrub and shampoo i read they were scented. all i could smell was my lovely conditioner!! oops!! amazingly, their scents are coming back
-
I sniff my ponies with alarming regularity  I never noticed Tutti smelling of anything other than 'pony' though. She is one that I've been able to remember getting as a child, she has a special place in my herd even though she isn't my original childhood pony
-
I got my Tutti Frutti from new back in the day and she has never smelled of anything but pony plastic. I still have her box and it doesn't say anything about her being scented. The scented ones may be a particular release of her?
However, on another note; my Lemon Drop I got from new with the pink Show Stable definately had a light lemony scent when she was new and several years ahead! It wasn't mentioned on the box and it wasn't a strong smell like the scented ponies but she definately had a lemony scent.
-
Also remember there are 2 versions of Tutti - so perhaps one is scented and one is not? Hence the differences with some having a scented pony and some not? [Although note I have both versions and neither smell so I am hoping I am not a good example :P]
-
I don't have one so I can't.

I've looked at four different sites and didn't see anything myself about her being scented. It's just wild! I love it!
-
I like the smell of all my ponies that are still in there boxes :)
-
I don't have one so I can't.
same here. *sadface* I need all the fruit ponies
But if I did she would smell like shampoo. I'm a ravenous germaphobe and all my new ponies get the scrub down, inside and out. My house is were pony scents come to die.
-
I think even if you scrub them they will still have their scent. Someone said to put one in a small container in your hot car in the summer and it would bring back the scent because it's fused within the plastic. Try it!
-
Mine only smells of pony as well.
-
hmm..I don't have Tutti Frutti (Not really my most wanted gal) But my UK Cherries Jubilee has a fruity..Cherry tart smell :D. I never put her near the scented ponies, so the scent is all hers XD.
-
can't say i smell something unregulary by my tutti :)
-
I wish I was at home so I could sniff mine.
-
There are two versions of tutti frutti? Is one mail order or something >marlin is too lazy to research right now :P<
-
I believe one has reverse colours in her symbol?
-
Yes, I believe that...
It is true about putting ponies in your hot car in the summer- I've resurrected the scents on my G1s and G3s that way.
-
OMG I'm excited to smell mine and see, but first I have to clear some junk away from the front of the cabinet she's in so I can actually get her out... >.<
-
I gave mine a good sniffing but I could only smell pony... odd!
-
I was upstairs sniffing mine again...she smells so gooooood... :)

We got a slightly different version in the UK to the rest of Europe - and the only difference is one has orange-y coloured fruit and the other is more golden. The accessories are the same but there are some missing from the UK release that were in the Euro box.
-
Doesn't one of them have the mane stripe on the wrong side? Or I might be thinking of a different pony...
Mine is the version with the yellow symbols.
-
LOL, I'll sniff her when I get home and report back...
...I detect a slight hint of 'eau de pony plastique' not so much fruitty.
-
Hmmmm I'll have to take a whiff!
I love pony smell; whenever I leave the door closed in that room for an extended period of time, it smells like pony in there!

-

Whoooaaa... *mindblown* :cheer:
What?! She is kinda fruity smelling! Holy cow... haha!

I got my Tutti Frutti brand new from the store when I was a child and I do remember she had a slight fruitty smell. I obviously had to go and sniff her now when I read this post but after about 2 decades of storage with other ponies she only smell like a pony - or well... plastic. Guess it faded away after all these years.
I also remember Lemond Drop had a lemony smell like you said The_Loner :) I got her aswell brand new from the store as a kid, but as it's the same deal with her - 2 decades in storage with other ponies - I'm betting she doesn't smell much either anymore
-
the ice cream set smells well like different sweets.

I think I'll go sniff my Lemondrop too!
