Last weekend's pony hunt was a big bust, so I hit up a Goodwill that I had never been to before and scored a little bag of 3 McDonald's ponies and a very good quality fakie. A 2012 g4 Twilight that will become a tree ornament, a 2005 g3 Pinkie Pie, and (I had to look this one up) a 2008 g3 Starsong. All that cuteness for one dollar! These little beauties are my very first g3s. I have officially fallen down the slippery slope of pony collecting. :newpony:

Congrats! Thrift stores are my main source of G3's ^_^ I've never bought any of my current G3's in a retail store before :P

They're in great shape too! I don't actively collect g3s and I already have the Twilight MIP, but the whole bag of 4 was a dollar! How can anyone say no to that? Now I'm just in love with Starsong. :lovey:

Congrats, our Goodwills do not have toys.

It's really a tossup with Goodwills, but I have found that, in my short time as a pony collector and my lifetime as a Sonic collector that you're more likely to find goodies this time of year. Also, bigger cities are more likely to turn up what you're looking for :) Although, in my own city's Goodwill, I found a ton of ponies about a month ago, including a really pretty fakie. It's always a nice feeling, I'm so happy for you!

I drilled out the little section where Twilight's keychain would have clipped on and fed a ribbon through the hole. Ornament Twilight is now hanging on the Christmas tree right beside American Greetings Pinkie Pie. (I also put one of the Tim Horton's coffee pot ornaments right next to Pinkie. It seemed appropriate. :silly: )

I HAD to add this. I finished my Christmas shopping today and thought to myself "I totally deserve a pony for that." So I hit up the same Value Village that the FS Fluttershy came from, and for $8 I scored 9 ponies. 4 fakies (2 alicorns!), a g3.5 McDonald's Sweetie Belle, a 2011 McDonald's Applejack, g3 Green Apple and Chocolate Delight, and best of all...
WAVEDANCER
...and she is in immaculate condition. Surface dirt only. No rust, no mold, no mildew, factory sealed head, hair is bright and soft with no mats or tangles, no paint rubs on her eyes, and she still has her blush. There's just a bit of paint fading on her fin tips, and no shell. Not too shabby for my first g1! :biggrin:
