Title: Question about the fim rc cars
Post by: Jenn1983 on November 26, 2012, 05:06:33 AM
Hi

Was wondering if anyone knows whether or not the remote controls from the twilight sparkle or pinkie pie rc car work the other one's car.

We have the pinkie pie one already and would like to get the twilight sparkle, but don't want to if the remote control messes with the other car and you can't use them at the same time.

Hope that make sense. Lol.

Makes perfect sense to me, but hubby has r/c cars, planes, helicopters.  A good question, anyone know?

In this video the guy says the Pinkie one operates on 27Mhz: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJheih58Hw4
Considering it's the same car (and it's  Hasbro), more than likely the Twilight one uses the same frequency.
This guy did a review of the Twilight one so you might ask him: http://www.benspark.com/give-it-forward-my-little-pony-twilight-sparkle-rc-car.html#comments

My question is who in their right mind would give Pinkie Pie a car?

I have both. Give me a few minutes.

Ok, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the remote controller is generic and works for both cars. In other words, you can use one controller to control both cars simultaneously and using both controllers at the same time will most likely jam up both cars.

I've always wondered that too (much less a train or anything else motorized).

Yeah I was pretty disappointed when I found out the remote controls are universal for both RC cars. Makes it easy to replace one of you lose/break it though.

I don't know if Hasbro releases them is different frequency flavors but I know MGA does with their Lalaloopsy cars.

Oh thats a shame - cant say I am stunned by it but it would have been nice if they made them a little more useable at the same time. *imagines Pinkie and TS drag racing*

I wonder if some techy person could alter things?

My sister-in-law was just talking about this on Thanksgiving. She bought both cars for my niece and was disappointed to find out that they couldn't be used at the same time because they are on the same frequency. She had planned for my niece to be able to play with them with her friends.

That is so terribly disappointing. I was so wanting 2, so I could have played with both. lol.

Same thing I, and everyone in the house had in mind. lol. We were gonna have some drag races and some derby type stuff.

The car has took a beating and still works great though.

Thats why I posted on here before buying. We have the pinkie care didnt want to get the twilight and find that out.

We had bough the pinkie first, but then twilight came out and we like her car better. So now we are stuck with just the one, kinda a waste to get both now that I know they cant be played with at the same time.

A bit of paint and glitter, add ponies, that should work.

So you can't race em together? That's a shame!

More like demo derby.  They all run on the same wavelength, so one controller can mess up the car of another person.  Which is fun for a couple of minutes, but then broken cars.
