I wonder, are those G4's rare or common:
Diamond Rose
Star Dreams (baby)
Fashion Pony Celestia
Fashion Pony Luna
-
Star Dreams is quite rare - she wasn't given a wide US release (I never even saw her aside from on the Arena) and she's the only filly aside from the CMC.
-
Hard to say, I've only seen her at certain retailers
Depends where you live(mass produced, but not widely available)
Probably not (easy find)

Diamond Rose: Nope, pretty common worldwide, although depending on where you live the stores could've probably gotten her late. For example, In Malaysia, they only brought in Wave 2 of the Travelling Playful Ponies (which include Diamond Rose) after Wave 1 of the Wedding Playful Ponies. Wave 1 of the Travelling Playful Ponies were a no-show over here
Star Dreams: Depending on where you live. The set got a very limited release in the US iirc, but wide release in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and Europe.
Fashion Style Luna and Celestia: Well, the Target "premium" version (comes with Glitter and Tinsel) is a no-show outside the US, UK and Australia. But the regular version is just being released in some areas, and I believe are starting to show in more stores the US now.
-
I see Diamond Rose at Target and various CVS and Walgreens everytime I go. I
Star Dreams - Rare in the US, yes!
Fashion Celestia and Luna - I just saw a whole box of them at Walgreens last night. I see them at CVS and Target all the time too. I don't think they're rare at all.
-
Hmm, I wouldn't call any of the G4s rare, since they were all mass-produced.
Some are hard to find depending on your area, such as Star Dreams, or some of the European ones.
Anything that people are calling "rare" now is hard to find because people missed out on buying the ponies when they were available at stores. Now that they are gone from stores, there aren't enough second hand ponies to supply the masses of new pony fans.
-
Only rare G4's are the prototypes like the Minty one. Yes, I suppose in some countries ones are rare like Star Dreams and the exclusive sets :p
-
Definitely say yes to Star Dreams... I never saw her in my area. We didn't get many of the playsets in my area at all. I see FS Celestia and Luna everywhere.
-
I think Bright Eyes is exactly right - in the context of "rare" none of the regular release G4s are really that. Although some of them are indeed harder to find than others perhaps due to the time they were released [i.e. past waves], how they were released [i.e. later waves not picked up by every store/retailer] or where they were released [i.e. country exclusives].
Out of your list the only which really falls into hard to find is probably Star Dreams in the US and the FS Princesses outside the US.

So Fashion style Applejack is somewhat hard to get?

Yes, unless you have 100 dollars set aside for her. So many people didn't pick her up when they were everywhere in stores because they weren't collecting Fashion Style ponies then. Now there is big competition with other collectors (hence the 100 dollars) for the limited supply of her that people are selling from their collections or on ebay, etc.
I wonder if we will see a lot more of Applejack when she starts hitting thrift stores (when children are tired of their toys). She could also have some sort of rerelease next year, too. We are not sure yet.
-
I am one of those people that wants to smack theirself for not getting FS Appjejack when she was in stores. I remember seeing her everyone. Oh gosh, I cringe just thinking about it now.
-
My store has some of Applejack Fashion style . I just order one. Maybe I shall order some more iff ppl here want to buy her.

I will be more and willing to get her to someone who can help me get the favorite collection from toys r us. they are selling it out now for 29.99 but they dont ship to Sweden. >.<
-
Well the FS Celestia and Luna has yet to show up anywhere in Sweden. Then again... neither has brushable Lyra, Trixie, Cherry Berry nor Sunny Rays. I don't consider any of them rare though as they are quite easy to get a hold of through Ebay and similar.
Star Dreams is the same deal - but reveresed :P There are several swedish toyshop sites that have her for sale and I had no issues what so ever in getting a hold of her. But as the others have said, she didnt seem to make an apperance in the US.
And Diamond Rose has been easy to find here and she seems to have been easy to find elsewhere too.
So as mentioned, the only actually 'rare' G4's are some of the more elusive prototypes such as Minty, but I'd say that's about it.

Thats so sweet of you. :) Just be careful when you are ordering your store are not simply listing the "Fashion Style Assortment" and have an accompanying photograph of AppleJack. Unfortunately she was the first wave on the line so often when stores sell by assortment - i.e. you could get one of a variety of different ponies not one specific one - they use the first promo image. I hope you manage to get her.
