Title: Mini Lalaloopsy
Post by: rayedelsol on November 11, 2012, 08:15:10 PM
I think the new holiday Mini Lalaloopsy dolls are going to do me in. I have loved this Lalaloopsy doll:

but I just couldn't pay that price.... and she is so big! So I saw that Target is selling the same doll, but in the Mini size in their stocking-stuffer things in the Christmas section!! OMG! I have to have her!

I remember seeing this little gal

and now I am kicking myself for not getting her! I'm going to have to look into all these special holiday releases! They are just so cute!

How about you? Anyone else love the Minis? Or the big ones?

I love this little girl so much I bought TWO. One to open, one to keep MIB. ^^; I have a small collection going now of these darn Minis. I have almost all of the fairy tale series and half the current "cute food" series. I'm currently using them as wall decorations MIB, they look pretty cute hanging along my wall in their packages. You can see all their detail and accessories, and I don't have to worry about losing them. I've told myself the second Stitches is a doll for my MH dolls, haha.  I've seen other members use them similarly - toys for their toys!

I'm not super keen on this year's full-size "Collector's Edition" (a label I think is just an excuse for MGA to charge even more money for their already-overpriced toys, but that's beside the point...) Ice Princess, but last year's, Suzette, is such a little Rococo dream that I finally couldn't resist any longer. I still have no idea what do with her (too hard to cuddle, too floppy to display!) but I love her anyway. So adorable.

I don't collect these (I don't have room) but I really, really want this one: http://www.target.com/p/mini-lalaloopsy-christmas-doll/-/A-14111761#prodSlot=medium_2_11&term=Lalaloopsy

I'm broke at the moment (I've been buying Christmas presents) but if I can manage to sell a few more things I could buy her. I just hope they don't disappear before I can get one.

I agree...I am totally in love with this year's Christmas LLL!  She is gorgeous!  I am hoping someone gifts her to me, lol.  I will definitely be getting the mini though, thanks for pointing that out!  I didn't see any of her when I was last at Target, but I'll be keeping my eyes open.  I DID pick up the very last Halloween mini that they had though, and it was after halloween, so I got her for $2.49!

You know, the mini Ice Princess is pretty cute. I'd probably pick her up if I saw her.

But oh my RA, are they REALLY asking $50 for the full-size? That's insanity! The only difference I can see between her and the regular releases is a stand. My Suzette, also a "Collector's Edition", was like $35. Which is already outrageous.

I love the minis but I try to limit myself, so I only have a couple of my favourites. But I've been wanting miss Scraps up there, she'd be perfect for my Frankies XD I was really bummed that she was Target exclusive so not in Canada >_< (If anyone has an extra for sale or could pick one up for me, I'd love you!!)

I really need to hide my wallet... from myself.

Every single time I pass the mini Lalaloopsy dolls I try to buy them. They make perfect dolls... FOR dolls!

And the new mini winter one... ahhhh! Must resist!!!

I really wish I had picked up the Halloween one.... :( Oh well, I am totally buying the Christmas [mini] one for me when I get money... I would wait until Christmas, but I don't think my husband will remember me asking for it.

Thanks for posting pictures of your collection! Keep 'em coming!

I loooove the minis! I love how they don't sacrifice much of the detail going to that scale. The price is obviously a help too, but the space I save to fill with more girlies is the best :p

I collect minis and the large dolls as well, I only buy the ones I really like though rather than everything that is released. I am currently jonesing to buy the big Red Riding Hood and Snowy Fairest doll.

Thanks. There's 7 total that I want. Are any of them particularly rare or hard to find? The ones I want to get eventually are:

Bubbles Smack 'N' Pop
Crumbs Sugar Cookie
Curls 'N' Locks
Ivory Ice Crystals
Jewel Sparkles
Mittens Fluff 'N' Stuff
Pillow's Story Time

Would someone be willing to pick up the Christmas Mini Lalaloopsy for me at cost? I rarely go to Target anymore and the last time I was there (last weekend) they didn't have her. This is the one I mean: http://www.target.com/p/mini-lalaloopsy-christmas-doll/-/A-14111761#prodSlot=medium_2_11&term=Lalaloopsy

EDIT: I also posted in the Wanted section just in case.

I LOVE LalaLoopsy. It's torture each time I look at ponies because they are always right next to them x3x I have managed to resist for the time being with the exception of Feather Tell-a-Tale. She is just so...perfect *3* For obvious reasons. Haha xD I want to collect them so badly but I don't even have room for my ponies, much less them :<

Awwwwwwwww shucks, ShortyBoo, I was JUST at Target! If I'm up there again and can find her, I'll pick her up for you (and if you already found her by then I can deal with a double, lol- ivory is darling).

I mainly collect the minis but I have two big ones too (coral and ivory). I sort of regret getting the big ivory though. She is gorgeous but was an expensive impulse buy.

These are my minis-

I now have Ivory Ice Crystals on the way to me. I did end up finding one at my Target the other day, but she had a big drop of blue paint on her face. I left her there.

Now I'll have to keep a list of the ones I still want with me in my purse so when I'm out I can see if they have any of them.

All the photo's of the minis are adorable! Since I think the large dolls are expensive, I'd like to purchase the mini's soon (hopefully!). I love the fairy tales ones that come in pairs. Sahara Mirage is by far my favorite but after seeing this year's collector's edition mini - I don't know! That might actually be in the running. Any opinions on the micro's? I know those are not as popular (especially with the 2.99 price tag), but I like'em. They look better in person, IMO.

I'm a huge lalaloopsy fan. But I mostly collect the big dolls.

But I always find myself drawn to the minis (especially when there is a drought if big girls, rofl)

I just wish they were a little more sturdy. I've had a couple but their heads pop off and whatnot when I take them with me.

I love Bubble with her bubblegum bubble molded! I like when they use the clear plastic.

I found these on wiki:
http://lalaloopsyland.wikia.com/wiki/Mini_Lalaloopsy_merchandise#Special_Holiday_Edition_Minis:

Valentine's Day

    Crumbs Sugar Cookie 2013

Easter

    Cotton Hopalong 2011
    Sprouts Sunshine 2012
    Lucky Lil' Bug 2013

Halloween

    Candy Broomsticks 2011
    Scraps Stitched 'N' Sewn 2012

Christmas

    Holly Sleighbells 2011
    Ivory Ice Crystals 2012

I think Cotton is the most expensive and Candy the 2nd.  The others seem to be easily available for about $20 on ebay but patience could get you a good deal.

i just got my first mini Lalaloopsy and she's super cute, but I find them kinda odd as toys..  They don't seem very playable to me.  The one i have is the type that looks like they're wearing pajamas, and she can't stand, can't sit, can't hold the accessories she came with (why does it come with a balloon and candy apple if she can't do anything with them?), and her arms are connected to each other and just kind of jiggle around.  If she wasn't so adorable i'd be kinda annoyed, as i feel she ought to at least be able to sit, or have poseable arms, or something.

I was resisting these for the longest time. i don't really like the bigger ones, but I do kind of like the minis. Does Charlotte Charades only come in the double pack, or is it possible to get her separately?

I really love the halloween ones, both of them, but the first one is pretty expensive and I don't love her that much :D I am more into MH and these are just a cute distraction.

I also really like Misty Mysterious! She is super cute! And Alice, but I don't really want any of the others, she comes in a multipack right?

There have only been two mini Charlotte dolls released. One came with an RC car and isn't available now. The other is in the Funhouse two pack. For Misty, there are several different versions of her as singles.

Thanks Aaryana! I just checked Charlotte's releases and the one I like the best is the one that comes with the car. Dang, i don't collect playsets in anything that i collect, so that's kind of meh.

I just folded like a cheap tent ( a saying someone here used once) and bought not one but... three minis. I got the 1st release Bea-Spells-A-Lot, Sir Battlescarred and Peanut Bigtop. I love them all! No Misty, Charlotte or Stiches yet, but next month probably. I also really like Princess Anis and Princess Saffron and the horse Scone. That one is super cute!

Technically I got sir Battlescarred for my fiance as a gift since he is a medieval historian and just applied to post graduate studies in medieval history, but he is just so cute!

I'm the other way around Luvly, i don't like the regular sized ones. they are like rag dolls, but plastic, so not like ragdolls...? And the regular sized ones just creep me out a little. Someone described them looking as the other mother from Coralline and that is exactly how I feel about them too. They look like the other mother and she is creepy.

Although I do admit that i do like some of them like Charlotte Charades and Peanut Big Top in their regular size.

That's what I like about them all being rag dolls but not actually rag dolls, I've seen the actual rag dolls they made of them, and they're kinda meh. As for the mini's I wouldn't have minded getting Mittens Fluff stuff and Bundles Snuggle Stuff, but they gave Bundles a pacifier in her mold, so I didn't get that set...The littles also don't have any articulations at all. >,<;

Although in doll form they're cute too. :P

About Charlotte, a lot of people were really annoyed with the car thing. I got lucky to get just the mini for $5. I don't care for playsets either, though I do like the Monster High ones.

I just realized, I still have some of my collection to sell off...

Charlotte loose would be fantastic! Although I am hoping they would release her again withut the car, but since they released her in the different dress already i doubt she will show up in her original outfit.

I am not all that keen on the ragdoll versions they made either. I like ragdolls fine otherwise though.

Ugh was so mislead to the point, I dropped $10 into coinstar for an Amazon gift code. I was actually looking on Amazon for a regular sized Crumbs Sugar Cookie, found a listing of one as well as the other dolls going for $5.99!! As soon as I got home and ALMOST Bought it, I realized it said Lalaloopsy doll 10" wall sticker. I thought it said it it was the doll and came with a poster (like they all usually do) Turns out no, it was just a big sticker OF the doll...weak...=_=;

The real ones on the other hand...are now going for $200+ @,@; I knew I should've gotten into Lalaloopsy instead of MH. XD

Blergh! Wut? Is Crumbs Sugar Cookie the valentine's one? That is crazy valuable! i am totally collecting the wrong thing too! I was just looking at GI Joes for my fiance as a birthday gift and some of the olfd ones from yore, when we were little go for... 500 USD O_O!

Also since I only just ordered Bea-Spell-A-Lot yesterday, elonni found her from a local store, like an hour ago -_-... I didn't even know we had the minis here... Le sigh...

Here's the one (http://www.amazon.com/Entertainment-Lalaloopsy-Crumb-Sugar-Cookie/dp/B003AN0P8Q/ref=sr_1_9?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1367512531&sr=1-9&keywords=crumbs+sugar+cookie) I'm talking about. I slightly exaggerated, but it is close to the $200 margin. $150+ish. @,@;

She's like one of the main ones, like one of the main 6, for Lalaloopsy. First released, so finding one in store nowadays is practically non-existent. :(

Post by: Nana-Rena on May 02, 2013, 11:25:08 AM
How about eBay? Is she any more reasonable there? i think that Amazon prices can often be even more inflated than ebay prices.

If she is one of the main ones, then they will probably release her again in some form, maybe with a different outfit. I think she is very cute.

I am considering the normal sized Charlotte Charades, although I have no idea where I would display a doll of that size. i only have a select few plushies out on display and I do not have enough space to display more big things, I barely have room for my other collectibles now.

I was a sucker and bought Charlotte Charades with the car.. I didn't want the car, so sold it separately. I didn't get all that much for it but I really wanted her. That $5 find is really lucky! :D

I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for Crumbs Sugar Cookie at thrift stores and garage sales! XD

I have two full size ones, Ivory and Coral, but do regret getting them. I just don't have the space either. I am pretty sure I am going to try selling one of them and maybe the other depending how that goes.

This might be a slightly odd question, but has anyone ever tried to customize their faces in a way that would get rid of their button eyes?
I'm playing with the thought of getting two or three food-themed minis in summer to expand my "sweet toy" collection, but their buttons creep me out. My idea is to carefully cut them off and sand the face down a bit to make it smooth, then repaint it.

What do you think?
I sort of want to see them with more expressive faces and eyes that don't make me think of the Other Mother ^^#

I'm really glad I haven't read this book!  I love my lalaloopies.  Getting creeped out by them would be a tragedy.

But... I've actually never tried to cut off their eyes.  They seem to be a part of the mold.

I just bought a Candy Broomsticks on Amazon using my "points" so I could have one NIB.       I am so far gone.  At least it didn't cost much.

I think it might be tricky-  I also am not a big fan of the button eyes (thanks to Coraline) but the minis are really small- and the plastic is really hard-  you'd have to carefully pare the plastic off with an xacto- and then sand it down.  It probably could be done, but only with a lot of work.

I don't understand why anyone would be creeped out even if they are like the Other Mother in Coraline. It's just a movie and the idea of Other Mother is rather farfetched.

Haha... I don't think that matters.  I used to be creeped out by dolls in general.  It's just a feeling.  Something changed and now I like dolls.  But I understand how other people feel.

But WIZARD OF OZ Mini Lalaloopsies! Wooo!  I can't contain how happy that makes me.

I was at Target over the weekend and ran into some of these!  They had the three-pack of Carousel minis and the larger light-up ones, but the store I was at didn't have the facing for the in-between sizes.  I'm usually only an MLP collector but I picked up the two Carousel mini sets that they had, and I'm totally addicted now...   It's hard to tell from the pictures but the minis are very detailed, so even the legs that aren't necessarily painted have things like thread lines, polka dots, and patches.  It was really refreshing after being in the pony section and seeing that half of the ones on the shelf had QC issues.

The Wizard of Oz series is lovely! I'm trying to remind myself I don't collect from that universe, but it's hard - look at the tin girl! She's so perfect. I love the ponies too (especially the food-themed ones - why do I love cute food character toys so much?! another thing I can't afford to collect!), but I shall have to pass because space and funds.

This year's Halloween mini, though, I am disappointed. And yet, she probably actually will end up in my collection if see her at Target. :P She's cute I suppose, but her pet doesn't really match. I suppose the bar was set too high by the adorable Candy and Scraps of previous years, though.

I really don't see the justification for the price tag at all-  it is a cute figure but $22?  It is about twice the size of a MLP brushable, but not even poseable- and the hair is plastic, not seran or nylon (which is usually what makes dolls so expensive).  Just don't get it.

Yeah, the bigger Lala pony is a little more expensive ($19.99 at my Target), but the light-up option is really neat and the in-store test doesn't do it justice.  When you unbox her, on the back leg she has a on/off/test switch.  When she's in the "on" position and you push her crown, the lights turn on and stay on, switching through colors (red to green to blue to yellow to teal to purple to white and back to red etc etc).  Pushing the crown again will turn the light show off, or you can switch it to the "off" position so it doesn't accidentally activate.  The batteries are watch batteries but easy to get to and replace, and according to the instructions she came with it sounds like there's a "sleep" timer built-in when she's on to preserve the battery, but I haven't tested it.

All in all, I found the light-up Lala ponies to be really cute, and I bet one of them would make a really good night-time buddy for a little girl too.  And they're comparable size to the giant light-up Celestia and iterations which have a similar price tag.

Edit: just took some quick pics to demonstrate!

Moonglow next to Celestia (her light was on so she shows up as sort of pink with the flash, she's actually very silvery)
