I was wondering if anyone know where I can find ponies in Israel? I'm talking more g1-g2 ponies. I know G4 are probably at Toys r Us there.. I'm hoping the packages are in hebrew for the g4's.. My sister brought me back G3 pony things that no ones ever posted up here before, from there and they are all in Hebrew.
Thanks :D

How exciting, I hope someone is able to shed some light on pony hunting in Israel, have a great time anyway

I can't help with locations, but best of luck! I look forward to seeing pictures of your finds! :D

Boy that is a good question? Good luck and hope you do find some ponies when you are there :)
-
Have fun Clipper! I hope you find some really cool ponies for your herd! :)
Sorry I can't help on where to look...but I bet you will find some cool nooks and crannies over there that might have ponies :)

I have an Israeli pony firend here that I hope can help you!!

I cant help with suggestions but I cant wait to see what you find - G4 in Hebrew packaging could be really cool.
Mind you with HB's super lazy international releases which basically involve putting every possible language on the packaging so they can cross sell means I am surprised we don't have Hebrew on some of the international packing already - most other languages which legally have to be present to be sold in certain countries are present after all!
Have fun Clipper and cant wait to see the images.

Oh I'm so jealous!! It's my dream to go to Israel, you're soooo lucky :) I would love to have a pony in Hebrew! Have fun and I would LOVE to see pictures of Israel :D

Best of luck on your pony hunt! If you are able to, I bet some pictures of G1-G3 may help you if you are wandering through the markets. :D

I don't have any experience with pony-finding there, but what I'd do is hang out in the pony area of a toy store in hopes of meeting a non-online pony community collector, or mothers or fathers shopping for their kids who might remember having ponies in the G1 era. Those people might have ideas about what they/their parents did with their toys-- or even know someone who still has some they're willing to sell. Hanging around too long could get awkward, though
Are there online classifieds you can post on before your trip? Or maybe a friend or relative who lives there could put one in the newspaper and call around to see if there are antique stores that carry toys? I know that, in my area, some have a couple shelves of toys while others have nothing like that.
Of, course, there are exceptions... I shudder to even type it but, when I was sixteen or so, I went to the neighbors by my childhood home and asked if they still had any things their younger kids bought during my adolescent-age garage sales. They said.... they'd thrown out all the kids' toys years ago    That is Not the response I was hoping for!! My Pristine ponies and other toys, to think of any in the trash, so awful! Yeah it was kind of odd that I went to ask them buuut I figured there was nothing to lose, at worst I'd just seem weird in front of people I hadn't seen in years and probably never would again and, at best, I'd get some of my original toys back!
If you have pics of the G3 stuff your sister found, I'd love to see them! :)

Oh yay!! Wish I was going with you. I don't know about ponies, but lucky you for getting to visit Israel. Its my dream.

I'm back everyone! I did find some toy shops with g3.5 and others with g4.. But it was in the European boxes. I didnt buy them.
But on my last day I went to an open air flea market and I found a G1 Wig Wam!!!
I wonder how he got there? Thought he was USA and German only? I'll post pics when he is cleaned up (:
I will also post pics of the g3 Pony items from Israel that my sister found.
Also, mlp doesn't seem to be popular in Israel. Smurfs and strawberry shortcake seem to be really in. I was seeing merchandise for them everywhere!!

That sounds like a good time! Hasbro really have been lazy this time around with a basic international box for every where outside the US and Canada.
I would guess with Israel having so many American tourists and ex-pats its not surprising a pony or two moved across the continents :) How cool to find a G1!

WOW! Congrats; that's so cool!
