Title: Woah...
Post by: Moss on October 20, 2012, 05:21:50 PM
Tonight the family and I went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner (awesome shrimp, btw!). There's a little family run toy store next store, so my sister and I decided to check it out while the parents waited for a table. Boy, did we find the mother load!

There were a ton of MH dolls, first of all, and quite a few early releases to boot. But the MLP aisle... G3.5s and G3s! In a retail store! It was like my childhood all over again. Naturally, they were quite pricey. $20-25 for most of the ponies, $30 and up for most of the MHs. The one g3 they had was some sort of dancing twirling pink pony that spun around. It had the anniversary logo on the box. I'd like to try to go back tomorrow and get something! It's been so long since I bought a brand new g3. Just thought I'd share!

I would have died and gone to heaven. Sounds like a store that knows they have old stock and prices it up though.

"Woah" is right.  It's cool that a current shop is selling old merchandise, but their prices sound very uncool.  I'd check on the arena for G3s first, and even on eBay they'd be a LOT cheaper than that.

On a side note, The Outback Steakhouse... YUM!!!  :dribble:

Oh, I know the prices were whacky. I was more tempted to buy one for nostalgia's sake than I was for actually wanting the pony lol.

And yes, it was delicious!

It sounds a lot like the drug stores around me. Rite Aid still has a Sunny Daze on the shelf for $8.99 I keep waiting for her to hit the clearance rack year after year but it never happens.  >_<

Year after year?  You think they'd get the hint.  Next time you're in, you might consider asking them if they'd sell her to you for $5 (or lower, if you're feeling brave enough to ask).

Wow  it's super cool to find older ponies in stores but those prices are insane :faint:

Lol what a funny find! Its so cool to spot new/old ponies for sale in an actual retail

Some of the TK Maxx stores over here still carry some ponyville products occasionally and I have a toy store in my town which has G3.5s on the shelf...similar scenario its an old store with not a lot of through traffic so they just stock things until they sell.

So cool! Must've been quite the thrill! You'll have to let us know who you end up going back for!

That must have been a surprise!  I don't think those prices are very nostalgic though.  :)

I would have been thrilled and taken lots of pics. It's always nice to be taken back in time like that.

That's awesome that there are still places where you can purchase G3s mint in store. They sound a bit pricey, though.
