Title: Fakie Baby Mimosa - Could she be a fakie from SA?
Post by: Ember1 on October 13, 2012, 01:37:49 PM
Hi everyone. I am perplexed by this fakie.

I nicknamed her baby Mimosa because she has an orange as her symbol and the mimosa drink is made with orange juice :) Just a reminder of  my friend  and former boss and I  drinking mimosas together after work.. *the good old days*

I have searched every fakie site and have not seen another like her.
I have to liken her to an african pony because her body texture, heavy weight and composition
is identical, her hair is the same texture and she has a rooted tail. Her body is not see through and is HARD as a rock like SA ponies.. She is marked china. She is also much smaller than baby blossom. Just from appearances I would guess she might have been a south african knockoff? we have seen carded african babies pop up(the card being african, the ponies looking like standard releases) in baby blossoms pose.

Of course this could just be a coincidence and she could have been made elsewhere but I just keep coming back to her rooted tail.
I have not see other fakie babies in baby blossom mold with rooted tail. I have owned a few other fakie babies in baby blossom mold.. They have had see through thin plastic bodies, no symbols and normal tails. Can anyone tell me more about her or have one like her? Where does she come from?

I have definitely seen other fakies with rooted tails that are not South African, so I would be very careful tagging her with a country like that. I think I bought a set of fakies with rooted tails in the UK about five or so years ago. I do still have them, but they're not accessible right  now. Of course, it is possible, but I think we would need something more to indicate as such, especially since you didn't acquire her from SA (did you?)

HI LG,

I would love to see your fakies. As I said she might not be a fakie from south africa but comparing her to SA bubbles she has ALOT of similarites in body texture, hair texture, body weight, thickness and appearance. She does resemble the SA ponies but she could have been made anywhere. I am not stating she is from SA as a fact but merely that she could be.
She came in a lot from Europe. I really do hope someone else has one like her and might know her origins

*I edited the title so it doesn't lend itself to confusion :)*

she is *very cute* i love her symbol too :)

i remember you posted about spotting her in a lot a while back :D here is the thread

http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,305975.msg358230.html#msg358230

it looks like she came with a lot of other fakies :)

i have seen quite a number of fakies with the rooted tail here, mostly they are in the drink and wet pose (but with out the holes) i also had a glow in the dark fakie when i was a child which had a rooted tail and she came from malta.

what part of europe/country did she come from? :)

i am wondering if you could cross post this to the corral as there may be people who would know about her there?

love pkw xxx

HI PWK, She came from France. I did post in the coral. Responses so far are that no one has ever seen her and the only know fakie earth babies in blossoms pose  have been the fakie baby minty with no symbols, and the color your own baby ponies.

OOOO i ddin't know Malta made fakies? Maybe this gals from Malta? I haven't checked to see if she glows in the dark.
Too bad you don't have pictures of your maltese fakie.. She sounds cute!

There are some fakies in France like this one in the same pose with fruit symbol and odor.
On "TATI" website I found this box for 15€ :

they have other fruit and colors, you can see them here :

I know Psydo owns some fakies like these ones.

Looks like ponindepedenza has solved the mystery, you can see a partial symbol on the baby in her picture, though the hair is curly.

How cute, the pose, colours and symbol = And she's scented too? Those flower barrettes in the MIB pic look very MLPish aswell. I would buy even though 15 euros is quite expensive for fakies.

YAY! Thank you ponindepedenza! :D

I am very glad we have been able to clear up who she is "Miss Bisou Fruite" and she is VERY cute, i think in cuteness she is rivaling the takara fakie babies!

I spotted that there is one with strawberries for her symbol and another with bananas for her symbol.

Ember1 my fakie from malta is marked "made in china" she is the same shape as the remco earth ponies with the front hoof lifted up :)

Good to have an indicator of where she was sold! (although she was probably made in China for cost) The larger one in that set looks similar to ones I have seen a lot here, so I'm wondering if the smaller one was sold here too :)
