Edit: Well :ack: my hubby wants to to wait till our daughter is born so we can do them together. Sorry all but thank you for all your help!
I live in Kettering Ohio and I am looking for a silhouette artist to do a portrait of my son. Anyone here do them that could help me out with a little information. I know nothing about the process I only know my Momma got one of me done when I was little and I want to have one of my little man done. Thanks! Any info at all is appreciated. My searches aren't yielding much it much not be popular anymore.

Last time I was in PAris I saw a man cutting black paper into the silhouette of tourists, he was doing it all free hand, whithout anythin other than his eyes, amazing!
Other than that, I remember doing one when I was in kindergarten, we had to sit with a briht lamp next to us and the teacher would draw out our shape on a white paper nailed to the wall. We had to paint it afterwards and give it to our parents ^^ Not sure this is what you're looking for as it ends up much bigger than the original size.

This can stay in art if you'd like, you'll probably get the best response here I think. Once your daughter is born, I'm sure you can find someone in here. :)
