They did change Rainbow Dash's eyes! I was wondering if the one like that on taobao was just some test or something. I'm not sure how I feel about this... :/
and hey dvds are behind the ponies! I think MIB collectors may like the new packaging more now ;)

This. I love my wave one RBD tons, but her eyes just make me uncomfortable. Not only do I get a semi-show accurate Dashie with the newer ones, but I get a backcard that isn't super sticky from all the tape!

Twilight and Fluttershy with tinsel already come in accessory sets, so no reason for me to buy them as singles. I'm sure they'll put Pinkie Pie with tinsel in something later.

That packaging is so much better!

But I'm worried Hasbro is going to keep sticking with the "just mane 6" waves D:
It's nice they're keeping them on the shelf for people who just got into the show/etc, but I really don't think they should have single packs and playsets with the exact same ponies for months at a time.
Am I just worrying too much?

Well, I also liked Rainbow Dash's eyes before.  But the packaging is great!  And I'm super glad they put the DVD BEHIND the pony this time round!

if there just going to re release the same 6 ponys.. i can see i wont be collecting any more new ones lol  i mean  seriously.. how many  people ar  going to just  buy the same pony with no difference. over and over agian.. (that dont have armys) i mean yes tinsel is awesome.  i love tinsel in pony hair.  but..  i dont want to buy the same  pony over and over..

but i would proably get the TS  because i do like tinsel.   but i perosnaly would like other ponys..

I also love the new packaging.  However, I also will not be buying any more of the mane 6 unless they come with a play set that I just can't resist.  I really hope that some new ponies will be coming out, but I'm afraid that they're not.

I really like the new packaging also!!!!!  I ordered Trixie and Lyra from hasbro and just got them today. I was hoping for them to not have the dvd with them and of course they both do :( So stupid to cover up most of the pony. :(

I hope we will get some new ponies too! I like tinsel but I am not going to buy them agian for that! I think I am the only one but rainbow dashs hair looks weird to me. I dont mind the dvds being in front of the ponies cuz I open them all anyways and I like to watch them since we dont have cable or the hub the dvds are the only way i can watch the show

Rainbow Dash's hair color seems off to me too.  It no longer looks like rainbow colors.  It's much darker.

I hope they still use Rainbow Dash's old eye style on new character ponies; increases the variety! Also, I've always highly disliked Pinkie's freakishly ultra-perky eye style and now Dash's are almost the same. I don't mind them making her more show accurate (although, there are several other inaccuracies I would've addressed first), and the eyes don't bother me in the show at all. But on an eternally staring toy it looks unnatural. Nobody opens their eyes that wide; it looks not only creepy, but also uncomfortable. I've heard people say that Pinkie's eyes are their favorite, so I'm probably in the minority on this, but to me, they just scream of dry eyes and a headache. I know that's what I'd get if I held my eyes that way very long. Ouch.

It's not a big deal, I didn't even notice at first glance (I was paying more attention to the regularly sized dvd's and trying to make out what RD's accessories are [a trophy and a ribbon?]), but I still hope they use creepy/perky eyes sparingly. My favorite eye style is Applejack's, and while I initially found the unicorn eyes to look very alien-like, they've grown on me.

I like the dvd's so I hope they release a new pony with it, too, though that doesn't seem likely now. I can't justify buying a clone just for accessories so I may miss out on this episode. Their accessories are very character specific; that's cool to see. I'm normally not an accessory fan, but Twilight's and Pinkie's are cute.

I'm very disappointed in more mane 6. Pony singles are moving so slowly at my Walmart that I'm afraid they're going to stop carrying them. And that's the only store within a 2 hour drive radius that sells ponies. Nobody wants to buy more of a character they already have. We need new ponies! Hasbro needs to learn some balance.

Dash's tail is usually blue and purple.  I think all these ponies do have tinsel.  Interesting, but I'm not buying another Fluttershy just because she has tinsel.

I prefer generic expressions on toys, it makes more sense to me. I'd hate to see an RD made with 'angry' eyes. :/
I wonder if she uses Pinkie's head mold now, and not her own?

The packaging is such an improvement and I love that they're packing the DVDs behind the ponies now. They should have done that all along. While I don't normally like accessories, I do love that little drink/ice cream float that comes with Pinkie Pie. Though, I don't need another Pinkie Pie, I may pick her up when I see her just for that.

Now if we could just see the translucent ponies packaged. I'm starting to worry that those won't be released in the end.

These look like the "with DVD" version of the Fluttershy we have seen. I suspect the other 2 of the main 6 will also be in this wave but have simply been missed off at the moment. With Ploomette and "someone" else no doubt [hopefully] going to join 4 of the main 6 in a further wave.

Cute to see a new release but I continue to hope for new characters.

Love the new packaging because of the DVD behind the pony and the look is very nice. May have to get all of the main 6 again because of the eye difference. I like the new eyes. Even though I like the main 6 they need some new ponies to come out as well. The DVDs look bigger to me but will have to see when I find one in stores.

It's so they're on the market at all times for new fans that don't have them yet.
Honestly, I see no reason to complain, at least we're still getting new characters in addition to the mane 6 unlike Core 7, so I'd assume you'd all be grateful. :/
Sure, we don't get a million new ponies like early G3, but we still get NEW ones, just look at Wave 9, Favorites collection, Zecora, all released the past 3 months, all (mostly) new.

I really wish they would sort out Fluttershy's eyes on the toys. They are just positioned so wrong ... She look stoned rather than shy. If they kept the same print and rotated the eyes backwards a bit she would look so much more awake, cute and show accurate!!!

I like new Dashie though!

A lot of focus is being put on Blind Bag sized molds at the moment it seems, those appeal heavily to Bronies, though I'm not interested in too many of them.
One thing about blind bags though, is it makes me hopeful for the chance that any of them have the potential of becoming a brushable some day, hasn't every Brushable had a blind bag counterpart? Aside from I guess the fillies and Starbeam Twinkle.

All the mane 6 have different eye molds, so it's not really fair, that, and all thsoe ponies you mentioned have AJ's head mold, so it may just be AJ's head you don't like.

There are some online stores selling these as a 4pack bundle but they go for $60-$80. Totally not worth it, especially since they aren't even new characters.

Only what? 10 or 12 new characters in brushable size over the course of 12 months...very disappointing. I like blind bags but as a MLP collector they dont appeal to me in the way ponies with a brushable mane [i.e. what MLP is all about] do. I understand the reasoning behind the constant main 6 releases but like others I equally understand the disappointment....too much "core 6" about this line at the moment for me.

Just saw these repackaged members of the main 6 on another pony website.  These ponies come packaged with a DVD of the "Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000" episode.  Hopefully they will be packaged like they're shown, with the DVDs BEHIND the ponies:

Anyway, same old ponies repackaged with a different episode and new accessories.  Nothing too exciting here.

Until I noticed something...

They corrected Rainbow Dash's eyes!   The RD pictured here doesn't have the caterpillar eyebrow/eyelash thing going on anymore.  She has her show-accurate round eyes with the straight eyelashes!
I hope hope hope she's released like this!  I was never a fan of toy-Rainbow Dash's heavy, straight eyelash thing.

Salli, I would buy all of those too!  I would loooove a prancing mold.   I'd also love a Cider Squeezy playset, I can just imagine the interactive features.  Like you put plastic apples in one part, turn a lever, and it "magically" opens a different compartment to "turn them into" a barrel of cider.   Oh, did anyone else have a baby bottle as a kid that was filled with "milk"?  (Probably colored water or something.)   They could make tiny, clear cider glasses like that!

i'm not sure were  going to get anything other then mane 6 repacked over and over..   it seems in my  thoughts  that there just focusing  on more and more  charecters for  the blind bag sized ponys.   thats where there putting  all the new charceters becuase people  are buying  tons of them.  i  have enough myself. ebcuase there so small.. and i'd rahter have a full sized one.   but heres hoping!

I was reading an article the other day about Hasbro's Transformers 4 plans (big screen movie).  They said they are going to do "all new characters" because the Transformers 3 (Dark of the Moon) Toy Line flopped.  They cited the reason is that by movie #3 everyone already had toys for all the main characters.   (I'll post a link later)

So HASBRO!!!! Take that lesson learned and apply it to G4 MLP!  Make new characters!!! Don't let the latest G4 Toy line flop!  PA--LEEESE!!!!

The Transformers movies have been about the same characters for 5 years. MLP is still new enough that there are still plenty of fans who don't have all of the characters yet. The only thing that bugs me is Hasbro is waiting too long between each wave. Every other wave has been having new characters but even these new ones would be out a while. I was starting to get sick of seeing Feathermay and Honeybuzz after a while and they were not even Mane 6. I want these tinsel ponies like yesterday.

I still think they should have put a DVD of a different episode with each pony, so that despite the expense of printing multiple episodes, they might sell more if people are trying to collect every episode individually.

the mane 6 are nothing but "custom bait" to me,

there needs to be more new charaters, and some new poses too!

prehaps we can finaly get some boy ponies happening too!,
but with  normal brushable hair and a  diffrent mold. ....  shining armor  = epic fail. 

id like to see a rearing pose or a trotting pose , thos would be cool.
and prehaps a closed wing mold for the pegisis

I don't know either! What I don't get is, that I am not that clever. I am not that educated. And even I can come up with a better line! Who is running this department, a bunch of ducks with computers? Have they ever seen an episode? Okay, so I looked up requirements for interning at Hasbro and I am at least going to take some classes so I could design something professionally if I ever had the chance to.

I agree that ponies should come with different episodes, but I do think it's brilliant to include the dvds with the ponies because the show absolutely HOOKS you XD

Also, I think it might be cute if the CS 6000 had hooks on it to maybe hook it onto the train? I think it needs a button on it that plays the song too. XD

Transformers has a very different brand approach though - it knows and accepts that its audience is wider than just "little boys". The collecting community in Transformers is staggeringly large and it has always appealed to older collectors who continue to collect after an initial purchase period - i.e. they have a better brand investment, in fact probably one of the best modern day toy brand investments from the general buying public. The merchandising/toy line of a movie [especially one for TF] is also different - the moves are all rated at least "12" in this country - those watching the films and who want the toys therefore are a little different than the early Saturday morning target market of FiM.

The MLP collecting community is much much smaller and the primary target market remains little girls most of whom will not be interested in ponies forever - there is the initial purchase when the toy is on shelves and then children move on, along come the next set of kids in that age bracket and the cycle continues. New kids as they get older being introduced to the show and therefore the need to have the main characters available. Think of it this way - when the show first appeared 2 years ago many of the little girls [and boys] who will tune in for the new show next month would have been far too young to enjoy it - therefore now being old enough to watch they can and they will want TS and Pinkie and RD and the gang.

Its frustrating and I would love love love new toys but unfortunately I can see the reasoning behind it.

Hmmmm....personally for me the fan base it has has worked to bring us a wonderful toy line for 30 years so I am happy for it to continue with that same focus - MLP has a target market of little girls which brings us pastel colours, brushable hair and light & innocent characters - that works for me and personally for that reason I hope it stays that way :) But thats just a personal opinion and I ll admit a few new characters would be nice.

You all know how much I want new characters but I do see marketing wisdom in keeping the mane 6 available for new fans of the show and little girls. I am also glad they are making a LOT of them so I don't have to feel bad about customizing them XD.

HOWEVER. I think that whenever I go to the pony section of TRU or Target or wherever, that I should see stock of half mane 6 and half other characters. I think they would make younger/newer fans happy while helping the collectors and new fans stay interested and excited. Best of both worlds. Also, mane 6 in new poses (and not just with a blinking saddle) would make everyone happy too.
