Alright, so maybe it's something that I've overlooked in my many years of collecting. But I've had quite a bit of Sundances come through my house, and I've never seen one who's hair changes color. :blink:
I picked up this lot on ebay for a bin of $10 - they were in decent condition with minor hair trims. I washed 'em up last night and noticed that the TAF Sundance had a white streak in her mane. Alright...thought it was my imagination or bad lighting. Well, I went to take pictures of her to put her up for sale/trade, and her hair turned purple. :shocked:
Um....help! Has anyone heard of this? I'm not sure what's going it. It's not a rehair I don't think, the head's factory sealed, and it's in her tail as well as mane. And her tail has had a trim too.
Is it some release that I've missed before???

Don't worry, I did go mad with it too, thinking something was wrong. But she has some streaks with UV reactive hair, so yeah, she is fine xD

I think that's the way TAF Sundance is supposed to be. Her white streak should change to purple in the sunlight, like with Beachball and other sunshine ponies.
But color-changing hair ages fast and gets damaged by the heat, so it loses its changing ability easily.

The TAF design does have the white streaks that change to purple :) I've seen several that don't work anymore, which is sad.

Yep! She's supposed to be like that! I believe Megan from that set has some color changing streaks too?

Hahaha yes thats one of my favourite parts of TAF Sundance. My first pony was a TAF sundance so I can confirm that she is indeed untouched and as she should be.
I think Megans (which goes with taf Sundance) streaks are supposed to change as well but mine dont seem to work anymore...
You had quite some luck to find her with such pink hair! Mine is almost pure white by now thanks to a lot of loving play^^;

I love the color changing hair! I got one at Goodwill and she works too! How fun is that?

Wow! No matter how long I've been collecting, there is always more stuff to learn. :P Can't believe I never knew this. Whelp, she'll be posted in the sales forum soon. Thanks for the info guys. :D

She's really pretty, Cloud_Weaver! I got one in a lot not too long ago, though her hair is more a golden pink than the lovely pinkety-pink that yours is. ^.^ But that white-to-purple colour-changing streak still works (which was a shock when I put her in sun to dry :blink:) and it sold me on keeping her. ^.^ Then I fell in :heart: with the pose, I'm such a sucker for the shy-looking ponies... Anyway, great find, and good luck with your sale! ^.^

Congrats :) And as others have said TAF Molly also has the colour changing streaks!

OMG. OMG SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR PONY.
LOCK HER IN THE CLOSET, WRAP HER IN CHAINS, THEN PUT SALT AROUND HER IN A CIRCLE.
IF THE CIRCLE IS BROKEN YOU ARE DEAD. @_@

Yep, that's how they're supposed to be! This was one of my original ponies, and I always considered them to be Sunshine Ponies, so I was amused when I first joined the Arena and saw everyone referred to them as TAF! The Sunshine Ponies also have the "extended" symbols.

Isn't it great to learn MORE wonderful things about G1s - the original and the best!!!
I have her and other ponies with this changing hair colour.....love it going PURPLE too of course! :)

so i have a TAF sundance. and i wasnt aware that her hair changed either! i just thought that it was suppsoed to be white and pink streaks to go with her body XD
