Title: What was in this display box?
Post by: Jupiter on September 07, 2012, 08:23:06 PM
I've seen this at two different targets, empty both times and didn't really see a tag for what was in it. Anyone know?

ah,ok thanks for that. I haven't actually seen any of the minis in person...and I guess that's why. They get snatched up right away.

This! I learned these sad empty boxes when searching for Rainbow Dash. >_<

I saw a full one once when Target reset the MLP section and these empty pdqs ever since.

At least they're selling well, although it probably isn't good for business when consumers don't even know what it is they're missing.

Well there's only like 3 of each character in the box. Boo.

Its like how I know my little brother has been in my kitchen...there are no biscuits but there is an empty biscuit packet. Clearly there were plushies in your Target but a hungry plushie eater has been in store!

I just got back from Target and saw the same empty box there. I'm definitely glad that I had an employee go in the back for me to get them before they were out on the shelves. I think if I didn't get first crack at them, I probably wouldn't have gotten them at all. At the time I bought four of them, one of each for myself and Pinkie for a friend and I found the empty box not long after.

At my target I never even saw the box... just an empty spot in the shelf... My third visit I found one lone Rainbow Dash stuffed into a nearby plushie box and she was the one I was looking for! What luck!

But yeah, never saw any more or even that box. o.o

I went to my Target and found a box with only 1 missing Rainbow Dash. I quickly grabbed one of each because the next time I went a week later there was no more and there has not been any more since. Even the box has now disappeared form the shelf.

I am soooo glad that my mom found them at her Target and got me one of each.  That Rainbow Dash is the cutest!  Seriously!

It's too bad you can't talk to people at Walmart or Target like you can at TRU. They usually have no idea what and when they are getting things in, but TRU I can ask them a week or two in advance of what they are getting shipped and they can usually tell me exactly!

 I got that sneaky feeling that it's not really "collectors" cleaning out these boxes. Sucks because they are cute and I would want a few, but not going to pay scalper prices

Hmm, well, even if it is scalpers, do you suppose their artificially inflating the demand for the toys will also increase the supply of them that comes out later on?

Its a catch 22 though - if they are popular, yes hopefully the retailer/supplier will create more - however if they remain popular they will still be the target for scalpers. Personally I preferred it when MLP was not a scalper target - much easier to find ponies under the radar!

I agree. I used to see them everywhere, but now it's near impossible to find any not on the shelf, and even that is hit or miss.

Been actually looking for these mini plushies and just come across empty cases of where they should have been merchandised on the shelf.

Scalpers really ruin nice things for everyone.

Those are cute looking. I was able to get a bigger one at wal mart today. They have replaced them four times in the last few weeks and keep getting sold out!!!!
