Sooo, I've decided. I'm going to try my HARDEST to hold back with my doll purchases to purchase my first Ball Jointed Doll!
So I'm going to save up (and hope I get this new job), until I can afford one around $200 (not counting faceup, clothes, and a wig).
My original idea was a girl like this:

Since they're hard to become available, I want to keep looking. But I don't know where to start. What are some different BJD around the same size as her, or as a Lati Yellow that cost about around the same? I want to do research, but I don't know where to start.

lati green is a very unpopular size, and I'm going to go ahead and warn you that if you plan for her to have a wardrobe, it's going to be a nightmare finding her clothing that fits.
She fits YOSD (a size smaller than her) clothes. she's basically a YOSD with longer limbs, so shorts are usually fine, dresses make tops, pants make capris, etc.
I make everything my latigreen sized girl wears.
They also should fit most YOSD shoes, shoes specifically made to fit smaller feet like soom and littlefee are not going to fit, but majority of yosd shoes will.
The MinoruWorld (dealer of bluefairy) sells the Junior doll kit for just under 200. Just just means that you string the doll yourself, but with a little bit of floral wire, it's no problem at all, and I'm here to help if you need it <3. Their dolls are usually in stock and ship next day :) I just ordered a body through them, but mine was in my hands in 5 days.

I have a shinyfairy Hana on the junior body and it fits just fine :)

YOSD is a generic term (originating from the company Volks) for ~32cm dolls, Minorworld (carrier of bluefairy) sells the ShinyFairy which is a YOSD sized doll :)
Lati Green dolls, being unpopular, don't have a generic size term, but the most popular doll of that size is the Lati Green, so the size group as a whole is often referred to as that. MinoruWorld Junior and Latigreen are the same size.

Okay, so if I were to get a Junior body and combine with a head, what are some companies you'd suggest looking at? I don't like the head sculpts with the Juniors so much. P:

Hrm, well I'm going for young, girl, happy (whimsical?), red curly hair, green eyes. I have a character in mind (kinda like the persona pony in my sig who's just a pony version of this girl).
Essentially I'm creating this (http://aellos.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4nsxvd) girl into a doll form. Going for younger because A: affordable and B: I like the look more!
I checked the other heads there, I do like the shinyfairy ones a bit, but if I were to order those I'd have to keep in mind that I would get an outside faceup, since I don't like the one's they come with. (I want her to have freckles anyways, so maybe that'd be a good idea).
I appreciate the help. :D I'm excited that I can do this now!

She'd definately be a faceup from elsewhere, but do love her. Smaller than I intended but I'm in love with that face sculpt. HRRM. She might be the one I save up for. Again, I've got a bit. :D It might not take long though. I'll just make a BJD fund and if I get this job that'll help it immensely.

no, teenie gems don't come with anything

I like Lati yellows too, but would prefer a Lati Green. Pukifee have just this...quality about them that attract me for some reason!

Hehe, I think Lati Yellow seem to have a better and cuter range of faces. I want to like, take the faces of the Latis and add the fae feel from Pukifees.
But those ears, and the availability have me hooked. I also like their factory make ups. I don't know if I could suffer to send my doll out for a face up. DX
OH, also Vertafae? Where did you find those horns for your pukifee? I want ram horns.

I didn't think I needed to make a full thread for this.. but..
On Denverdoll's site, it says they have certain combos of the dolls in stock beneath their pictures. Are these actually in stock with them, or would it still take many weeks to get?

if it says in stock then it is in stock in their store and it will ship within the week (or so)
The photos do not usually reflect what is in stock though, so be careful to pay attention to that :)

Would I have to order that exact combo to get the in stock version? I really don't care for the sleeping face.

Oooooh someone that likes APL!! APL is a gorgeous sculpt IRL. my friend has one, here are a couple pictures of her.
(I have a SOOM Beyla (limited) and I must say I LOVE SOOM teenies. they're very flexible espite the joints. nothing beats FL, for sure, but SOOM are lovely IMO. might need some sueding tho)

I made my girls horns from sculpty, there's a girl on etsy that makes them too.
There are Latis that come with elf ears but they're more expensive.

I saw one that sells these pretty opalecentish ones. I think I'll get a pair of those for sure.

Can anyone recommend some cheaper 1/6 yosd clothes sites? I love the darker, goth stuff on DollHearts but it's a bit pricy and now I'm sorry that I looked because I reallllyyy want one of them.. lol

I had the same issue with eyes. I ordered what looked like a bright cyan, and they ended up being a dark teal. =p

I got the faceup but not the outfit! Instead the seller threw in a cute little red and white dress and even a wig! I'm super excited!

I plan on saving enough so I can splurge too. A really nice wig, two-ish outfits (it'll be winterish by that time so she'll need something warm!) and ram horns. And maybe new eyes!

Yup! Pukifee Ante. That nose and eyes. And I like the freckly faceup. I'm bouncing between giving her super ginger hair, or something unnatural.

Ante is such an adorable doll! I had a Littlefee Winking Ante for a while and adored her. Monique Gold Collection wigs are super soft and come in a ton of natural colors and styles. http://monique.com/
