Title: Premature hair loss?!!!
Post by: Sunset on September 05, 2012, 07:52:00 PM
So I have been inventorying my ponies.  I just pulled out some ponies that I have had packed away in order to go through them.  I just pulled out my G3 baby Tea Lily.  I noticed that the pink parts of her mane looked like they had a different texture than the green parts.  As I was inspecting it, I noticed that she had several plugs missing at the bottom.  I had never noticed that before.  Then as I move my finger, I discovered a huge chunk of pink hair just came away from right where it meets her head!  After further inspection, *all* of her pink hair in her mane comes away with the slight touch.  She has two huge bald spots now!  The pink hair in her tail is coming away too.  All of her green hair seems well rooted and has the normal texture.  As far as I know she hasn't been exposed to anything that any of my other ponies haven't been exposed to.  The worst that I can think that she has been exposed to is heat.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

I don't know what to do with her now.  It's kind of sad to display a pony with huge bald spots.  This also vastly decreases her value if I sell her.

I've heard this is a common problem with the Avon ponies :(

Well, My Jazz Matazz's pink hair is the exact same way.  The sad thing is, she was mip until I just decided to open her tonight

Some of the Dollar General G3s also had this problem if I remember correctly...

Oh no!  That's one of the worst pony flaws/diseases I've ever heard of! I'm sorry to hear that happened. Wow. I have never heard of that. It's kind of blowing my mind, actually.
...Does Tea Lily like hats?

I vaguely remember this being mentioned in the past but I cant remember if there was a consensus on which ponies seemed more prone to it or if it was just an occasional thing.

Although the hair may "feel" the same in order to get the varied colours it will have been treated differently - this is why some colours perhaps frizz or become brittle or react to chemicals/conditions in a different way from one another. So even if all your ponies have lived the same way, a particular colour may react different to that "way of life" than another. It could simply be that that colour is no longer binding to the glue which may have broken down but with the other colour has not had the same reaction and therefore it is still being held in place.

I was thinking it could also be the break-down of the glue.

But what ever it is that stinks, maybe you could rehair her?

This happened to my Green Apple!  She was one of my favorites!  Her hair just dried up and fell out.  Crumbled to pieces!  :(

It's way too early for G3 to break down!  :yikes:
Gonna check all my babies next month. *scared of the results*
