I was browsing craigslist today when I saw one called "Vintage Moon Dreamers Dream Central - My Little Pony " I clicked on it, and this image came up.

Is this MLP? It looks pretty old, and i'm not an expert on G1, but that doesn't look like megan...
anyone know what this is?

Moon dreamers were produced by hasbro in the 80's and shared a tv series slot with potato head kids and my little pony. They are not mlp, but I remember having quite a few, and some of their animal friends such as Rory and Ursa still pop up in mlp lots these days.

There is a page for these on ghost of the doll and some of the animals were never produced. I do know some ghost member did find hornsby the ram for this line of toys. They did have catalog scans of dolls and animals that were made but they are only prototypes.

I...I want it....
Pretty much what Kissthethunder said; not MLP, but related.

Oh boy, Dream Central!
What others have said, Moondreamers was another line by Hasbro in 1985/86. I'm sorry my ID site is down at the moment or I'd link it, but what that is is the biggest playset for them, it would be the equivalent of the Dream Castle for MLP in terms of size, maybe a bit smaller since it doesn't unfold quite as much. The cool thing about the Moondreamers line is that it features glow in the dark parts and accessories. I've got a lot of the accessories myself, but haven't run across the building yet.
I'm sure there would be someone interested in trading or buying it from you (such as Elisto, lol).

<3 moondreamers. id forgotten all about them until late last year i stumbled across it on youtube. shiney and new with a tiny splash of nostalgic 'i ALMOST remember this...' at least it solved the mystery of where that star bear i had since childhood came from. =P i was convinced it was RB or something. been drooling over the lion tho. need to just find it and get it over with.

Well, I do want it, but I can't afford it right now *sad*

As others posted, MLP and Moon Dreamers were totally separate toy lines. I think the seller used that title to attract more people who buy/collect vintage toys. Moon Dreamers are certainly well-liked and there are quite a few collectors around, but they weren't/aren't as popular as MLP so there isn't the same name recognition. ;)
