If I could make a poll for this I would, but the possible answers are almost endless! Reading everyone's reasoning behind which original 6 pony is their favorite, I noticed a trend of "because it was my first ever pony!" Personally, I missed out on the first 6, but my first one was an early one. My first was Bowtie! I actually got Firefly that same day (Christmas morning) but I opened Bowtie first! Who was your first, [you]?

My first pony was actually a G3. Bowtie. My first G1 was Baby North Star. ^.^

I don't remember, but Sweet Sundrop was the very first I ever bought, with carefully saved up allowance and total betrayal when I found out about Sales Tax and had to be bailed out by my dad.

Like I mentioned in the other thread, Butterscotch was my first pony. She was given to me by a family friend.

My first pony was G1 Windy when I was 6. I gave her away as a young adult thinking that I didn't need my ponies anymore, when my daughter came along, I started buying them for her. I got a Butterfly Island Playset with about 9 ponies, and now she has 50+!!! Not to mention my collection....

Well, my first ever must've been one of my Lanards from 1984. I think my mother could only find fakies at that time ^^'
If i'm not mistaken the first real pony.. G2 Lady Cupcake.
My first pony as a collector was G4 Rainbow Dash.

Baby Snoozy, Daffodil or Love Token :) I was so small I don't remember which came first.

I think my first pony was Cotton Candy. She is the earliest pony that I have out of my original childhood toys so she has to be the first. But it was Pinkie Pie in 2003 that started my collection...isn't that crazy? Pinkie Pie isn't even my favorite, but it was still love at first sight.

I missed out on the original 6 too, although my cousin had Cotton Candy.
My first was either Applejack, Bow Tie, Cherries Jubilee or Posey - it is possible I received them all at the same time.

Hrm. I don't honestly remember, all of my 'first' ponies were G1s that were second hand. I guess it would be Majesty (whom I always called Sparkler) since she was definitely my favourite of the bunch.

I have a handful of G1 ponies that are from childhood, though I wouldn't have a clue who was my first one, or where they even came from (they could be hand-me-downs for all I know, except movie Firefly), although Baby Whirly Twirl, Night Glider and Coco Berry are my oldest ones, and I was born in '86.
My first G3 however was Butterscotch.

G1 Lickety Split. I still have her, but she has definitely seen her best days.. (My older sister cut her mane & tail). I had to get one MOC too just because she was my first pony and suffered so much in my sister's hands, now I can remind her of her evil deeds everytime she visits me. :P

Baby Rainfeather and Baby Sapphire! :inlove: They had so many spa days when I was a kid that I had to rehair Baby Rainfeather, it was just awful. But luckily Baby Sapphire still looks excellent. She was my favorite pony because I love blue and diamonds. I guess I took good care of her! After that I got Pina Colada.

I don't remember which was my first childhood pony :( But my first pony once I started collecting again (minus the little glowing petite pony that somehow managed to avoid the purge of my childhood collection in the first place) was a G3 Pinkie Pie my friend's sister got me as a gag gift. That's what kicked off the collecting again. I remember which pony of each gen was my first of my rebooted collection though. For G1s, it was Glory, because I was hit with a really strong nostalgia wave when I first saw her, and I KNOW I had her as a kid and that she was one of my favorites. For G2, it was Ivy and Dainty Dove that I found together at a thrift store. The G3 was Pinkie, as I said before, and for G4 it was Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow, and Fluttershy all at once :P

G1 Bluebelle with the UK hair clip set was my first ever pony :) When they were first released my mom bought her as a surprise, along with G1 Butterscotch and the Gymkhana set (sp?!) I still have them both. I was about 4 years old when I got my first ponies and I havent ever lost my love of ponies since then :P :lovey: :frolic:
My first G2 was Lady Cupcake - she was included in a job lot og G1's I bought from someone on ebay. I hated G2 's back then and I never bought those in the shops... but after I restored her she kinda grew on me and I couldnt get rid of her . somehow.. I dunno how.. she got joined by a whole lot of other G2's :faint: :lookround:
My first G3 was Pinkie Pie in the party outfit with a CD. I had resisted until then but after that i was totally addicted to them as well. I have tons of G3's now - they are my faves after G1
G3.5's.. well .. no comment :lol:
G4 - I bought the first wave all in one go :happy:

G1 FF Butterscotch, followed the next year by Moondancer. Butterscotch has leaching plasticizer, and a few cancer spots, but I still love her...=]

Honestly I can't remember ...it's between Peachy and confetti ... But the first one I got when I started collecting again 6 years ago was G1 Minty :lovey:

I don't remember. Most of my ponies came from the thrift store when I was a kid, in those little 99 cent baggies with like 3 ponies. Some had prices written on their butts, but my mom cleaned them off right away. Little Flitter was obviously my fav, but I'm sure she wasn't my first. My grandma bought me Firefly (aka Lightning) and Peppermint Crunch (aka Sundae), who were married. The only other pony I got new was Chocolate Delight. I still have her and her soda, she's in great shape with her original curls still (mom wouldn't let me take a bath with her because of the open mouth, so she's in the best shape of all my old ponies).
My first pony as an adult collector was Baby Glory.

As hard as I try to remeber who I got first when I was little I can't remeber. It's going to bug me for a while trying to remember! XD I can remember all the ones I had when I was little but not which one I got first.
But the first pony I got when I started collecting was pink baby Ember. I remember being so excited! And the first pony I cleaned up was Surprise. I was so happy and proud with how clean she came and her hair still has its original curl. She is lovely.

hmm well I think my first was a sea pony with a pink body and blue colored hair.
My first pony in my re introduction to collecting was Cotton Candy.

too young to remember. it could have been a my pretty pony peachy or it could have surprise/baby surprise or a sea pony. hard to remember when you are 5 or younger. i can only go by pictures i've seen myself with ponies.

Like many others... I think I was too little when I received my first pony to really remember for sure...
But... I'm 99% sure it was Cotton Candy. If not her... then Bowtie. I have pretty distinct memories of getting in trouble for taking scissors to their hair because I wasn't "happy" about having a new little sister. :lol: Bowtie suffered the most... she has a partial buzz... and is missing her tail. :( Cotton Candy only received a forelock cut...
Next would probably be Medley... ;) And the Rainbow Ponies... :D

Sweet suds was my first pony. Legend has it (I was small) the local toy store was giving out damaged and returned items and I received that pony without the box. ^.^ that is how it all began lol

A really baity McDonalds G4 Applejack. I still have her and am kinda tempted to replace her with a mintier one, but she has sentimental value, so I'm not sure.

My very first pony was for my 4th birthday from my Nan, it was a G1 Princess Sparkle, the one with cape and fibre optic crown. I still have her, she still works and is a fair bit grubby! Some of her mane has caught in the plastic bow tie that you turn to light up her crown, the tinsel is super duper frizzy, and my nasty little brother gave her fibre oprics a trim! :mad:

The G1 10th Anniversary Birthday Pony. I was 2 and a half and my mum has since told me that I wanted a pony of my own because my sister wouldn't let me play with her ponies :biggrin: I was born in 1989. My sister would never let me play with her Trolls either.

My first pony (That I remember anyway) was a G1 glory...who I decided needed a whole new paintjob...with a permanent marker....
She's now baited and waiting to become something new, I wouldn't mind having a new one at some point though XDD.
She also had a baby moondancer with her that got the same treatment...oh well XDD

G1 Medley and my sister got Skydancer. I was about 5.

I can't remember. I actually can't remember actually receiving any of my originals, I just remember playing with them. I have Sunbeam, Mom and baby Moondancer, Surprise, Sky Flyer, Pinwheel, peachy and the parlor, and blue Ember. When I started collecting again, my first was G3 Moondancer and then G1 Tuneful.
