Note: we're still voting on the ponies and not the drawings. The artwork is just eye-candy. :D

From the start I was kind of hoping it'd not be these two, since I don't quite see the same appeal as most in them, but I'll take my time deciding. It has been super fun either way!

Minty seems to stay ahead, but not by very much. Waterfire is keeping pace with her. I like them both! I think I wouldn't mind getting Waterfire to join my herd.

One of my (only) childhood ponies was G3 Minty (or maybe not really childhood, but i was still pretty young then!) so if it wasn't for that I probably wouldn't like her as much. Plus I'm a sucker for Christmas.  :)

I mean, Minty's colours are OK, and I see she's quite famous (whereas I don't see where Waterfire's popularity started), but to me there are dozens of more appealing G3 ponies.
I still vote for her today, because I simply don't like Waterfire's colours. at all :huh:

I'm another one who's very surprised to see these two here - I mean c'mon, Port-o-Bella and Midnight Dreams are much prettier! :lovey:

Waterfire is beautiful, but I gotta give it to Minty! I love Christmas, I love her character, I love her sock collecting and she's just such a pretty pony, how can you help but love her? Plus I love the fact that the most "famous" G3 isn't pink, but green! ;)

It closes at 7:00am MDT tomorrow. Another option I have in the event of a tie is to extend the race for another 24 hours. It's just never come up before, so I didn't figure out how to address it. :lookround:

Minty is not my favorite pony by a long run, but I was never much of a fan of Waterfire (I think it's her pose, looks so awkward and unnatural for a pony) so Minty gets my vote! :D

aww my faves didnt make it to the final, and I like both of these two... :yikes:  :yikes:  :yikes:
The surf shop is one of my fave g3 playsets, and  its first one i had ,with the 4 ponies including Waterfire..... but .....  *eyes  Diamond and Partypony*  I guess I'd better vote for Minty :P

Wow, what a pony race! I finally voted for Minty, mostly because of the Xmas version. I like Waterfire's history and the flame in her eyes (very unique), but not her pose or colors (though blue and red-orange are unique too). But Minty's Xmas version is gorgeous. Her snowflake eye patch is also unique, along with her gradient colors and cascading symbols.

Well Minty wins. I knew it would come down to those two, but I didn't want to believe Minty would win over the all-time favorite "G3", Waterfire, just because she is a G4 character. I'd bet my entire pony room that if Waterfire was a G4 she would have won.

As for Waterfire, she did a good job too, 2 out of 64 isn't bad at all!

Yes, absolutely. Someone referred to previous a previous Derby, do you do these yearly or on any set schedule? I was completely sucked in :)

I did the first three in three consecutive years, around the time of Arena's anniversary. Then I took a hiatus because it's quite a bit of work and doing it in the autumn wasn't ideal. This year, I thought the summer would work a lot better for me, and it did! So I'll probably do it again next summer. :D
