I was hoping that with the talking pearl colored Celestia we would finally get a smaller brushable in the pearl color.
I've seen a few of the small brushables on ebay but they are kindof expensive.
Are these just flukes?
The pictures for the Target princess set show her as being pink again!
Why does Hasbro inundate us with pink Celesitas?

There will be a white/pearl brushable Celestia sometime in the future, probably next year. Her blind bag is always white too.
-
well that gives me some hope :)
-
It was a horrid mistake!

IIRC, I think Hasbro (or someone from that company) had said that pink ponies [tend to] sell more than white ones, hence why the Celestias have all been pink. Save for the TRU exclusive, of course.
-
Celestia is pink, so Cadence is REALLY pink!
-
Iirc Hasbro attributed it to toystore executive meddling. I.e purchasing officer offers to buy more stock of a toy if it was pink.
-
Because pink is the colour that the target market will buy most of, it's marketing.
I really want a white one though.
-
I am guessing because she is sort of pinkish and they ran with it. Ran a little too far!
Ah well, at least they are making more white Celestias. The pink ones are cute, but it is nice to have her closer to her intended colour.

yea the only big difference in them is the cutie mark:)

The question was asked at the Convention at Hasbroken headquarters and that was the answer that was given. I was there and heard it.

Most likely true but never heard that line before.

Yup...retail buyers for the "little girl" target market prefer pink toys and pink packaging. For a change I don't doubt Hasbros answer of "because it sells better" but on the other hand I dont believe the blame lies entirely with the retailers. Hasbro want to sell as many ponies as possible as well so if their market research shows that pink works - then both Hasbro will happily make and retailers will happily stock those pink toys. The cartoon is to sell the toys - as is apparent from the lack of "show accurate" hair and even "show accurate" moulds a super dooper close link up between the cartoon artwork and the toy is not considered vitally important.
As mentioned there is a smaller white version [the same size as in the Royal Castle Friends set] floating around having been spotted on ebay - we havent had it confirmed as to whether its getting a release. At this point it is just as "unconfirmed" as the FS white Celestias.
All that being said I do actually prefer her in the white :) It suits her hair better!
-
I do hope they release her in stores. I don't have the budget for an ebay one.

So far there's white Celestia brushable and white Celestia FS, though both from taobao/China. Hopefully they will join the 'official' releases like blind bag Celestia and talking Celestia!
