Thought this was be a fun thread to start. What do you consider to be your best pony find/best bargain ever?
Mine would be finding the first official Baby Takara on honeymoon in Japan for 80p.

I found SS Twilight (amongst others) for a dollar last year, my first pony thrift find ever.
Near Mint Flurry with super pink hair for a dollar too ^_^ That was a few months ago...

Well, it really wasn't mine but my mom found a Cutesaurus in a bag with a couple of other G1, G3, and fakie ponies for like $3 at a thrift store. ^.^

My mom actually found her for me, but a MO mommy pony w/ 2 other g1 ponies for $3 at Savers last month. :)
Before that, it was Munchy for $2 at the same thrift store. :)

Hmm I think my best find was at a Value land in the early 2000's.
I found a HUGE stash of my little ponies, someone's collection for sure! I paid around $50 for a TON of ponies and accessories. It was so long ago that I do not remember all of the ponies I found but here is what I remember!

Best pony find = Copper Glow sticking out of a trash can outside. I must have looked pretty suspicious grabbing a pony out of the garbage, but after a good wash she turned out pretty mint :lovey:
Didn't even have to buy her.

Nothing that beats anything anyone else got, but I got a G1 starflower for a quarter and a twin Sleepyhead for free at a thrifrt store. The lady thought it was so cute how excited I was over her she said just take her home, it's one me ;o;

I dont have any pictures, but i have found a grand total of 2 Baby Ruby's, a Baby Sapphire, and a MB Sunburst all at carboot sales for under £1 each. Ive been pretty lucky actually :silly:

A lot of ponies containing very near mint SS Angel, SS Crumpet, SS Taffy, Quarterback with helmet, Trickles, SS Lickety-Split, Skippity Doo with stand, a MLP suitcase-sized tote, about 30 puffy stickers, and Mimic for $45. My boyfriend's best pony find (for me, of course!) would have to be a lot of 30+ G1 ponies including MB Lightning at a yard sale here in Michigan for $10!

i found a glimmer wings rairty at a thirft store for 10 cents. also got chuck e cheese pony for free.
ended up getting a whoel bag of ponys including a so soft newborn for 2.50.
then i also found a talking celstia for 1.00 she looked pretty mint.

Yesterday my answer would have been different attempting to remember the ponies I scoured car boots for in the 1990s.
This morning however, I received a parcel from my Dad who lives in France and had been to a car boot near him.
Not overly hopeful, but appreciating his effort, I opened the box and found a bunch of cute fakies and a couple of lovely G2 & G3s, then...
...Dutch Heart pony! For under a Euro! And utterly out of the blue!
I'm not too proud to admit it, I squeaked like a kid at Christmas. I'm still bouncing now after starting to clean her up. She has pink highlighter on her ears and eyebrows and *I don't care* Squee!

I would say when my husban and I went out the restaurant to have a walk in town and there was a flea market , and on the first stand I found my french Seashell , I love her soooo much ^.^ ^.^

hmmm get my fizzy and gypsie for free from a person i got talking to on ebay as she had sent me the wrong order so she gave me a half refund and sent me them as compensation. unknown to her at the time i really wanted a fizzy so when they got here i was a happy bunny and promptly sent here a message sayying thank you she still wont take my money either bless her

I never find ponies at thrift stores.
However, my husband used to work at TRU about 15 years ago. His store stocked G2s at the time and they were clearancing them out for ridiculous prices ($1 for a pony, playsets for $5-7 after his employee discount). I told him to get "one of everything" they had and he came home with a trunkload of G2 pony stuff. I still have some of them MOC to this day.

My BEST is definitely my $.016 Mimic I found on my birthday ^.^
Others I've found at that same store for around that price include Baby Leafy and Baby Lucky Leaf, Edgar the Elephant, Baby Paws, and Little Flitter.I bought a huge lot of 170 G1's for $200, that included all the color swirl ponies, Yum Yum, princess baby sparkle, and several complete sets of other ponies. My best friend started me out by giving me her whole childhood collection of around 40 G1's

It's not much, but early in my collecting days I found a working Sweet Talkin' Pony at Savers for $2. :D I was such a newbie that it took me a bit to figure out how to make her talk. Besides that, I'd count finding an excellent/minty Locket at a nostalgia/vintage shop for $8, which isn't bad.

Mexican Prince Sapphire for less than $1 (including his crown!).
My 3 MIB Watercolor Baby Sea Ponies for less than $30 each.
And they are the ones that came first to mind.

I'm getting so jealous reading all of these. The best I've found so far is FS Applejack with massive tail rust. I got her cleaned up and she sold pretty well, so I guess it wasn't that bad. :)

Lets see for me that would be getting 16 gen one ponies for $ 5.00 when i was a kid at the flea market. Currently it would be finding 3 gen three ponies all at once at the salvo.

Lol! I never have anything much to contribute to "bargain" threads...one day...one day I will find that minty Tornado in a car boot sale for £1 :P And in the meantime I am the last of the big spenders - always paying too much than too little.
These finds however so far are fantastic!

I found a G1 pony friend, Kingsley. For only $5. It was in EXCELLENT condition except for some slight symbol rub.

my best finds should be Big Brother Lightning for a little less than $2, and Macau Lemon Drop - also for the same price, both are in really nice condition. I love them ^.^

Hmm, maybe that time my dad's boss showed up at work with a Lavender Dream Castle and a bunch of ponies for me. They were his daughter's. FREE! :D

Let's see.....I've been lucky in my years.
Tux n' Tails for $1 at a flea market.
SS Angel and a bunch of other G1s for $2 each at a flea market.
MO Mommy Pony for $30 at a flea market. It was from a toy dealer and I thought it was a steal.
Purple Valentine Baby and Flowerbelle in near mint condition at a yard sale for less than $1 at a yard sale.
A bunch of mint Windy/Summer wing ponies and a couple of Dream Beauties from a country fair for under $10. The lot had Cool Breeze!
Fizzy, Brightglow, and TE Bright Eyes from an antique mall about $5 for all. They were in lovely condition too.
That's all I can think of right now. I know there are plenty more I am not remembering right now.

I have had too many to know which,perhaps a craigslist lot of 100 ponies with a mimic in it which also included 2 sleeping bags
or stumbling across a yard sale that had all the popular 80s toys...rainbow brites,shortcakes and ponies
or finding the best flea market that hooks me up by email now that I live states away

my best eBay would be buying a lot with sweet scoops and asking about the charm and actually getting the charm after they looked for it

Soft Sleepy Newborn Hushabye for less than $4.00 (I saw her for a long time, but never asked because she was "not a pony"... the magic of internet told me otherwise XD).

A lot including a six MIB pony things (1 pony, 3 Argentinean pony wear, MIB Baby Kellogs, and 1 MIB G2) for $60.00 including shipping (and the damn seller was a *censored*). The MIB G1 and G2 boxes aren't in the best condition, but otherwise, I love them =)

MIB G2 twins Vive la Vie and Vive la Vent for way less than $30.00 including shipping.
A lot of Mexican ponies that included Mexican Pegasus Baby Blossom, Baby Moondancer, Baby Quackers, First Tooth Baby Northstar and adults for less than $4.00 each, and she added a lot of the accessories =) Later I bought her another lot of accessories that included a lot of pony wear and ribbons and a lot of things =3 All of this (both purchases) for less than $50.00 each. I'm so happy with them =3 (I need to find the pic of the accessories, otherwise I don't think it will be called a bargain XDDD /bricked).
And I must have a lot of others, but not sure about at the moment sho are and can't remember what I paid for them.
I know I over-paid for my Mexican playsets, but I'm really happy with them *hugs them all*, so I don't feel bad for it XD

A sea pony shell for free... forget whose it was, but I ended up selling it on eBay since I don't currently have any sea ponies in my collection and got about $35 for it if I recall!

This! Plus prices will always be lower if the market is flooded at the time. Natevansate managed to get me a really minty Icey for cheap at Christmas as the market had seen a few pop up. The first one of that load of Icey's on eBay went for £70 (in not so great condition) and then a load showed up and therefore we were able to get a minty one for about £30

Well, I usually only look at the Buy It Now sales. In any case I bought these in person, and shipping would have made any eBay deals cost about as much anyway.

I found a minty Diamond Dreams at the thrift store for about $2. And my friend found about 60 G1s for $15 for me at the flea market :) Mostly common ones, but there were Baby Sea Ponies with floats, TAF Yum Yum, a Flower Fantasy pony and a bunch of Lady Lovely Locks Pixie Tails which I always wanted! ^.^
