So... :) just for fun...
If you were casting for Miss America, Miss World, Miss Universe...which pony would represent your State or your country? [or even some other random suggestions for other peoples countries or States]
For me - Scotland I am going with Majesty - unicorns are our national colour animal and our flag is blue & white :)
What about you?

My first response would be Minty but I kind of like G3 Sparkleworks or maybe G1 Sky Rocket for the USA.

For Sweden I would go by our flags colours. Blue and yellow. Such as the new G4 Lemony Gem :)

Probably Gusty for Wales, because it's very windy in my university town (on the coast so we've always got a breeze coming in from the Irish Sea). Plus the flag is white, green and red :)

As a Texan, I'd have to nominate Miss Applejack from Sweet Apple Acres for our representative.
I don't think she'd enjoy the "pageant" parts of the contest, though!

Because I love pageant of all kinds:) I almost thought of hosting a pony pageant of some kind on here:) I will have to work out the details:)
As an Iowa USA I would say Pinkie Pie G4. Her pony senses would be beyond going crazy with our weather and random things happening. We have a giant buffalo in a random field, The largest fiber glass strawberry and frying pan...and so much more:P So we are pretty random.
For USA I think Sky Rocket would be a good match or G1 Moondancer with her red, white and stars:)

For right now, she's the only one I can think of that's close enough to America's red, white, and blue. *salutes the pretty pony*
Then again, Munchy would make sense too, with her fast food symbols. It's a stereotype, sure, but as an American, I can say it's at least 70% true.

Definately Gusty for Canada and Majesty for the province of Quebec (because of her colours, blue and white and because of the symbol, which kind of look like "fleur de lys"). As for my city, our symbol is pink and white so any pony would do! Perhaps So Soft Taffy...

I live in Alabama so I would say either Pretty Belle because we were known for our southern belles and Azalea Trail Maids or Baby Rainribbon because it's sunny, but it rains a lot too ;)

Oh yeh Bubbles :D I was trying to think of different yellow and blue ponies but Lemony Gem was the only one I could come up with XD

I am not from Kansas, but I think that is a good representative. Plus, he is a mountain boy and they are all gorgeous XD And I think I remember hearing about Munchy for USA before, lol!!

I just thought of Cool Breeze being a good one for Hawaii.
That would work. It sometimes confuses me that California is known for its sun and beaches, but Florida is called the "Sunshine State." Still, I would put Florida with a beach or southern flower pony as well, like Seashell or Beachbelle. As for Hawaii, I'm thinking Aloha Pearl myself. :)

One tiny glitch there: Kansas is flat. But, he's still a fab choice. (parents grew up in Ks.) :lol:

G4 Rainbow Dash for New York! She's pushy, has an attitude, yet is loyal and proud of who she is and where she came from. Sounds stereotypical, but that's New Yorkers in a nutshell!

I'm nominating Port-O-Bella for Indiana because mushroom hunting is sort of a thing here. (Even though I've never been.)
Are there any ponies with corn or wheat/bread for symbols? They would fit just as well since we have quite a few crop fields here.

TAF Sugarberry for Ontario! (Canada's flag is red & white, just like Sugarberry; and Ontario grows berries. :))
And Fleur-de-Lis from FiM works for Quebec! ;)

Hmm. My first thought was actually Waterfire for CA. Makes me think of the beach and bonfires. :)

I say g3 Peach Surprise for Georgia! (since it is the "Peach State")
And probably g1 Brazilian Milky Way for the USA- the rearing pose one with blue and red stars. I think someone suggested her in a similar thread a while back and I thought it was fitting!

Oooh, I forgot about the cousin from Tales!
In fairness, while I do think Sky Rocket is an excellent choice for USA, I can also see her as being the pony of China. After all, it was the Chinese that invented fireworks in the first place, and they use it for many of their festivals even today.
Also, Kimono would be Japan!

Fun topic! I was thinking about hosting a pageant contest for ponies or dolls sometime. Although I'm not a pageant girl myself.

Nachtlicht/Nightlight for Miss Alaska, since her body is the color of our flag, and her hair is the colors of the Aurora Borealis.
Oakley the Moose could also make a representative, though I don't think he would be welcome in a "Miss" pageant! XD

The truth is I'm a tea fanatic but not black tea...I'm into green & white teas, and all my relatives pour these gigantic tea pots of the blackest black tea ever, then add massive amounts of milk or cream. (Relatives are in UK/Ireland). The last time I was over I made one of my teas, I forget which, might have even been an unoffensive (imo!!) jasmine, and they were like WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT TEA?? HONEY YOU NEED TO DRINK SOME OF THE REAL STUFF...

I plan on moving to UK after grad school in USA (maybe France eventually? idk)...and when I was in France it was like, Why would you want tea?!, HAVE ESPRESSO.

You are right, she would fit! especially as her symbol is in the same pattern as the swedish symbol Three Crowns.
Sugarberry could fit too, there is nothing as swedish as Strawberries and whipped cream/ice cream.
