Just out of curiosity what makes these gal's so saught after? Were they limited release? Im kind of shocked at how high they go on ebay...especially Applejack. :shocked:

For some reason, Applejack was a lot harder to find than the others. I've seen EVERYONE else around here but never an AJ. :cry:
I have a hard time finding any in stores now accept Rainbow Dash and Rarity.

Yeah, I thought Applejack was rarer in stores. She sure was rare here! I only saw maybe 2 or 3 ever in stores.

I like them better than the little playful ponies, to be honest, even if they do cost over double the price.

Mostly it's just because they're no longer sold in stores. Applejack was in the first wave back in 2010 with Rarity and hasn't been re-released in a later wave like all the others, which makes her much harder to find. They're supposed to re-release all the main six Fashion Styles soon, but we don't know yet if they'll have the same accessories or not.

Applejack and Rarity are the hardest to find and quite sought after. I have heard Hasbro will be doing a second release but am not sure when.

aj is pretty well non existant on the west coast..ive called or checked(check wallgreens!) rarity is rare but still findable at some walgreens..the other 4 are easily found..to my knowladge i picked up the last rarity in the portland area and i say that very widely (went to woodburn) for a friend
if aj exists on the west coast its an odd named store in the middle of BFE

Man, I saw Applejack constantly around here about a year ago... It seemed like she was super common and NO ONE wanted her cuz I never saw her move off shelves until she went on-sale... I regret not buying one or two now just to trade. >_>

I think everywhere I go there is one single FS sitting by itself on a shelf. :lol:

I heard Rarity is coming out again next year... so maybe Applejack too.

I'd like to get a second Applejack so I can free her and let her join my naked fashion style herd. :P
But not for $100+ like she's going for now.

See I kcick myself in the but for not picking up AJ. There were TONS of her around me and I never thought to pick her up.

I'm looking forward to the Rarity re-release. I see tons of Rainbow Dashs, a few Fluttershys, and my Target had some Twilight Sparkles. Need all unicorns!

I am so glad I picked up AJ. The only styling G4 pony I'm missing is Pinkie Pie, and she's still everywhere.

i had AJ, she was the only one of the FS's that i picked up
but i gave her to my cousin in exchange for some NECA figuerines or something like that.
im not all that cut up about it im not a huge fan of the FS ponys.

I bet some people didn't really get into the whole Fashion Style thing until stores were out of Applejack.
For myself, I really liked Rarity, and eventually bought her (Applejack was not in stores at the time) right before she was sold out completely. Then I decided I wanted Applejack so I had to buy her on ebay right after that. When I started collecting I had told myself, "only the small brushables" but that has just ballooned into every pony.
So yeah, my guess is collectors missed out on them because they didn't collect Fashion Style ponies at the time, or maybe didn't get into the my little pony fandom until recently.

When the G4's came around I was waaay out of the ponyloop and had no idea that they were changing the line again. So when I found the new G4 ponies in the stores I was very sceptical and didn't even know which ones were the "main ones" (which I know now is the small brushable ones).
I figured Applejack was a decent size and it was a pony I recognized from the G1's so I figured I'd buy her just because of that and leave the rest cuz I knew nothing about them.
And boy am I glad I did that now XD
I've been able to find all the other Fashion Styles in stores now when I started collecting properly again - except Rarity. My TRU is overflowing with Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle at the moment.
So I guess it's just a distribution issue that makes some of them very hard to find and therefor saught after.
On a side note: If anyone can find FS Rarity in their stores would you mind picking one up for me? :D

Its not so much that some had limited stock than others - its simply down to 2 factors.
1) They come in waves with AJ and Rarity being the first released. A lot of people perhaps didnt get into G4 or into ponies until after wave 1 was out of stores and being re-stocked with wave 2. Therefore a whole lot of people who are looking for her now will have completely missed the first Fashion wave. Unless you find a store that didnt manage to sell all of its first batches of Fashion Style or who randomly discovered a box/pallet of them in distribution, you wont find FS AJ currently on shelves - you ll only find the current wave which is Pinkie/RD or the Celestia/Luna.
2) Some retailers will not have bought into all waves/sets or even any of the early FiM line - this could be because they were unsure of interest, unsure of the line or simply that it wasnt the time for their toy launch. Therefore by the time they place orders with stockists, the distribution has moved on to wave 2. Remember for Hasbro whether wave 1 or wave 4, for distribution purposes they are all the same product - so they wont allow a retailer to order "wave 1" - they will simply order the "fashion style" and receive whatever the current wave is being stocked.

Just wait a bit and don't pay $100 and you might as well sell one if you have one before the next batch is tangible. If the accessories are different, we might even get a brown hat and Winona this time 'round, I'm not holding my breath for that though.
I bet in another 6 months, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie will be "so rare", lol.

When I first started collecting G4's I didn't know which to buy - I could get a few big ones at £14.99 each or lots of smaller ones for £4.99. I went for the small brushables but now I want a FS Fluttershy cause she's my favourite but I can't find her anywhere :( I saw a RD at an airport a couple of weeks ago but she was the only FS there :P

I had a Rarity, but she had some really awful factory flaws...so I didn't keep her, but I kept the accessories. Now I'm just waiting for the re-releases.

I actually found Applejack, with nearly all her accessories, at a Value Village for under $2. She's super cute and has the best accessories, IMO. Also found a Pinkie there (with just her dress).

OMG I can't wait for the releases, the second I see Applejack, Rarity, Twilight and Fluttershy I'm going to stop at nothing to get them! I have all the others (Shining Armor and Cadance on the way from the USA) and I need my MIB collection to be complete! lol
Then I'll keep an eye out for those Design-a-Ponies :P

I have only seen dash twice! she has been really hard to find. I actually only have AJ, rarity, the canterlot set, and :muffin: Pony. I want dashie!

I still need Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Celestia and Rainbow Dash :) I had AJ last year (ordered her from Amazon), but then I wasn't that impressed with her or her accessories and ended up donating her before my move because she was common at the time. Kind of kicking myself now >_< That was before I really got into collecting the FS ponies. I'm not going to pay ebay prices to re-buy her though, so I'll just wait for the re-release for her, and hope she has better accessories this time around :)

Actually, come to think of it, I can't find FS Celestia nor Luna anywhere around here. They might have been sold earlier though since I only just started collecting G4's like 3 months ago.
But since every other FS pony except Rarity and Applejack is around in our stores I do have my doubts.

I emailed Hasbro about FS Applejack and they said that she was still in production and still being released in small amounts. But then again, that was a while ago. March or something...

I don't buy fashion styles. I like them, but i don't have room for them ^^'

I'm actually kind of surprised that we haven't seen any indication of rereleases on Taobao yet. Variants and mistakes, but no previews or anything.

I've never seen a FS Applejack or Rarity [but I got into the game late] My Wal-Mart has just restocked with the wedding Celestia and Luna [that Luna WILL be mine :) ] RD and TS are still available near me in large quantities. I got Fluttershy and PP when I saw them pop up... well.. grabbed would probably be the better word. Same with the wedding couple [literally snatched] The FS are just so cute!

I had a horrible time trying to find AJ!!!! Rarity was dime a dozen out here for a long time and then suddenly....disappeared.
If anyone can still find Styling sized Raritys...PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PM ME. I need some. lol.

fff that's good to know, I'm not collecting G4s as seriously (the styling ones are the only I really like right now XD) but I was worried I couldn't get AJ or the second wave which I can't find anywhere! I can only pray I can still get my Rarity though :<

Well, I've never seen a FS AJ in stores over here in the Klang Valley either. Supposedly, there was a few further south in Johor Bharu and were aplenty in Singapore, but they're practically nonexistent in central and north Malaysia. I'm glad I imported mine off eBay before the prices went exorbitant.

Rainbow Dash (who I really want, but haven't gotten yet), Twilight Sparkle, and Fluttershy are the only ones I've seen so far. My Meijer has, like, 10 Dash and no one else. xD
I'm excited to hear that they might re-release Applejack, I want her too. xD

Hmmm, I saw rarity in anlocal store the other day, now I'm thinking I should have bought her.
Of all the G4's, the FS are my favorites. Their size reminds me of the G1's.

I saw AJ all over western Washington when she was out. Our Fred Meyer had her until about 9 months ago. In fact, I saw Fluttershy at that Fred Meyer last week lol. They seem to keep old stock lying around. It is Rainbow Dash that is nowhere to be found here. I got one for my daughter for Easter and never did get one for my FS set :( So if anyone in WA knows where to find a RD I would be interested ;)

AJ was definitely pre-brony. I bought her when she was first released, and even then she wasn't super easy to come by. It was easier finding Rarity.
I must say though, I had no real desire to buy all the FS ponies, and now this thread makes me want them :S Why don't you want me to have any money, Arena?

She wasnt a limited release :) Its just that she was released first so was overlooked by a lot of people who werent collecting back at the start of G4.

Have you tried checking Walgreens?
