Awww, he's a beautiful horse. You must be thrilled! How long does he have to stay in quarantine?

Good for you! That is exciting...I can't imagine having to wait that long with my horse in another country. He is beautiful!

He will have to be in quarantine at the airport for three days, and then a further 3-4 weeks at a CEM testing facility.

He is well worth the wait, still have my mare to ship.. and then my fiance, and then we will all be in the states.. and hopefully have a hell of a lot less stress :)

Wauw he is gorgeous :lovey:
You must be so happy
-
aww, he's a real gentleman, I think I'm in love! :3
I'm glad he finally made it to you, and I hope those weeks will pass quickly and soon enough you can reunite, not only with him but also with your mare and fiance :)
-
Congrats!
-
Oh my gosh he is GORGEOUS! :lovey: You must be over to moon to have him close! Excuse me while I continue to stare at his beauty :>
-
Thanks everyone! I am glad I am not the only one who is utterly inlove with this fine gent.
He will be standing at stud in 2013! So keep him in mind if you are thinking about breeding your mares ;)
-
Wow, he's stunning! Drat, I wish I had caught him whilst he was still over here... Then again my mare is 16 and an ID cross with no papers, so I've no idea if who she's related to.
If I may ask, how much did he set you back? Plus all the transport/etc? He's so stunning.
You're shipping a mare and your fiancee across? Make sure to give him haynets and water and rope toy so he doesn't get bored! ;)
-
Congrats! Glad he made it there safe and sound and that you'll get to meet him soon.
-
Beautiful!
Im sure he will be happy, im glad he made it there safely :)
-
He looks soooo majestic! Glad he made it safe and sound. :D

We will be looking into frozen semen for shipping in the future, but I know that it will involve him participating in more quarantine type tests.. So we shall see how work intensive, so there is still a chance he can be used to breed in England!
All in all from our location in England to here the transport was around $20,000, so 13,000 GBP roughly. And we didn't buy him, he is ours :)!
...but no one could afford to buy him now.. His price is priceless!
And don't worry about fiancé.. We will drug him ;).. And as far as our mare, that is the scariest trip, as she is preggy! So will be on tender hooks for that one!!
Congrats! Glad he made it there safe and sound and that you'll get to meet him soon.
We have already met, just a matter of getting everyone settled at the new place, I have two Tb mares who are dying to meet him.. They just don't know it yet :D
He looks soooo majestic! Glad he made it safe and sound. :D
Thanks lovely!

He has some fantastic stallions in his line including; Touch Of The Blues, Red Hackle, Snowford Bellman, Blue Peter, Slievenamon, and Skippy to name a few :)

Well, Farin (Romance), is a jumping dream. He can size up a jump, and shorten/lengthen his pace, tuck, shift his weight, etc. without any help from his rider.. He does math pretty much! Whether it is on the straight, or round bends. He also has a fantastic potential to compete in dressage and cross country, however as he is young, we have focused on the discipline he showed the most interest in.
Our draught mare Royal Charter has participated in Cross Country, Show Jumping, and Dressage from the time she began her career under saddle. She is a total over achiever and at the age of 3.5 had already mastered higher dressage moves such as Half Passes, and Counter Canter, etc. In 2011 she participated in quiet a few competitions, and brought home the 1st almost every trip out!!
We never push our horses, we allow them to choose which direction we go, whether they show great promise at jumping or dressage.. Despite Charters amazing Dressage skills, she enjoys jumping far more! But due to her size (17.3Hh, 2,600lbs aprox), she is never going to be able to compete with little pocket rocket ponies, however this does not stop us incouraging her to enjoy what she loves to do..
Here is a photo of her jumping a ditch on the cross country course.. She is a little over zealous with the ditches as she wants to make 100% sure she doesn't fall in them!

This was taken with a camera phone so excuse the poor quality, also believe it or not that isn't as high as she picked herself up!!

Well he will have sport foals on the ground next year (FINGERS CROSSED! He gets out of Quarantine in time!), so you never know, you may very well have a chance to have your own Farin!
