Knibitz stopped by the Customs forum yesterday with an intriguing idea (http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,304266.0.html). And since I had been planning to start a swap around now anyway, I decided to go with the suggestion of a Bath and Bodyworks themed line of customs, and turn it into a swap.
Bath and Bodyworks (http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/home/index.jsp)has product lines with names that sound fitting for a pony, as well as color themes that are vivid and alive, gorgeous to look at.
If one could figure out how to scent a pony to match the theme, that would be awesome. Dollyhair.com has instructions on how to scent ponies (http://www.dollyhair.com/fragrances.html) using their water based scents, and I wonder if it would be very different.
Disclaimer: Scenting a pony is NOT mandatory for this swap.
Signups 8/2 - 8/15 or 20 participants. Whichever is first.
Partners assigned no later than 8/17
Work time of 8/18 through 11/18
First Check in 9/18
Photo Check in 10/18
Final Check in 11/18 with approval to ship granted upon photo of completion.

Rules:
1. You must have 5 positive arena feedback. I will also consider eBay feedback.
2. You must have been an arena member for at least 4 months before sign ups are over.
3. You must have pictures of at least 3 of your most recent customs to show the quality of your work. This is a skill based swap and I need to know where to put you. If you intend to sculpt anything, please include pictures of sculpting.
4. If you do not meet the first three requirements, you may still sign up to be placed in a newbie category. This category will need at least two participants or it may not be run. You will be notified in either case. Newbies require 3 feedback instead of 5.
5. Ship on time! I realize real life issues come up sometimes. If this happens, I want to know about it as soon as you realize you will be late.
6. No shipping early! I will be withholding addresses until shipping time to prevent this. The exception will be after final check in and your partner is ready to ship as well. I don't want anyone disappointed in this swap and with so many people going MIA lately, it's best for everyone to hold off until we are sure their partners haven't disappeared.
7. Be prepared with progress pics at progress date.
8. Send me pictures of your completed custom before you ship. I want to know your custom is complete before it goes out.
9. Let me know right away when you ship your custom and when you receive one.
10. Do not let anyone know who your partner is. It is secret.
11. This swap includes all generations of ponies (G1, G2, G3, G3.5, and G4), if there are any of these you do not like, include that in your form. Do not use any fakies or babies unless your partner requests it.
12. You must be in no more than 2 other swaps (total of 3).
13. PM the sign up form to me (Maniah) by the sign up deadline. Please title your PM "I Love Smelly Ponies" so I know you have read these rules.
14. You must check in with pictures for the final check in 1 week before shipping.
15. KEEP YOUR SHIPPING RECEIPTS! You need to be able to produce proof of shipping when asked. You need to hold onto your receipt until your partner confirms that they have received their fart. I also highly recommend delivery confirmation for those not shipping internationally.

16. All participants MUST check in at each check in date in order to remain in the swap. Failure to check in will result in removal from the swap. I don't want to have to remove anyone, but I will if necessary.

I can't go in the store because of all the flower fragrances, most of which I'm allergic too, but the fruit scents are great :3

I only use Midnight Pomegranate, but there are some other fragrances that look like they'll be beautiful ponies!

On the other hand, I've been looking for an excuse to go to BBW and browse, so this would be a good reason. :) I have some of their Sakura bath wash, but haven't used it quickly - I tend to shower instead of bathe. XD

Besides, we could have the option in the form asking if they would like their pony scented. If my partner would like it scented, I would do it, and vice verse, I'd like mine scented!

Correct! The ponies do NOT have to be scented. I only did a quickie blurb of questions to consider for the form, but scented or unscented was one of them.
I'll work on getting a proper form written up for folks :)

Warm Vanilla Sugar has been one of my favorites too! Though I have to be honest and say that the Victoria's Secret vanilla is better. :p

Very interested in this swap! I'm in the Halloween one though, kinda close working times - and close to the holidays. Halloween is probably the last swap I can do until after all the big spendy holidays are over, too much going on in November & December for me personally. I hope it's a successful swap, I'd love to see a 2.0 and try to enter that one - I'll see if I can enter this time though, but I wouldn't count on me participating while you're gauging interest/getting head count ideas ;3. LOVE the idea though!

I'm just already getting anxious that I'd make a custom that would look like crap ._.; so I think I'm just going to make one for myself XD And then maybe do a personal B&BW swap with a friend or something later XD
when I first joined the arena, I came in wanting ot do customs, and made a few.... but they all sucked XD I had no right materials at all and had no clue what I was doing. (can't believe I actually took my customs and showed them off at the 05 pony fair like I was proud o them V_V XD I NAIVE LITTLE SPAZ/KNIBITZ)

They DO! Semi-annual sale is my favorite -- I try to snag Country Apple, Pink Grapefruit, Sun-Ripened Raspberry
tho I will let you know that many of the discontinued scents can be found on the website (including Dancing Waters and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin )

You can use other sources for scents, but I didn't know of any others to mention, and I know Dollyhair has a huge line of scents, so I mentioned them. If you list some other sources, I can add them to the main page.
And you can always ask me to ask your partner if there is any scent at a particular shop you frequent, that they would like to pick out as well. I am happy to pass notes!
The main idea is to design a pony based on the product's theme.. The scent is optional.
I figure that including a product from that line as an extra in your partners box will be a popular thing for this swap, so those who don't have B&BW may still wind up getting to try it.

I've never done a swap before so I qualify for a newbie section. I'll be PMing you because I've always wanted to be a part of a swap but couldn't buy from the Arena for quite a while. (It's not a TS issue, I promise. Dad's name was on my credit card and he didn't like me buying from non-eBay or non-Etsy. But now I have my own! :cheer:)
I am typing up a PM for you now and uploading pictures of the customs I have done. I'm at kind of a low skill level, but I really love making them and that's why I can't thank you enough for having a newbie level!

Ooooo I looove the lotions and body mists a lot :) I use body mists the most frequently probably. I rarely take baths sadly. But I do take showers! I promise I'm not smelly :silly: I can't wait to get started on this ;D

I haven't done a swap in forever, but this one sounds like such a cool idea! I just may sign up, but I want to make sure I don't have too many projects lined up at home first. In product, I like body sprays, lotions, shower gels, candles, Wallflowers, Scentportables, and hand soaps. I've also been wanting to try their sugar scrub for hands, but it's pricey without a promo or coupon. I don't need any Pocket-Bacs; I have a bag overflowing since I probably pick up five every time I shop there. I ADORE their fall scents, which should be well underway by the time my partner will be shopping.

Ooo... I like the foaming hand sanitizers and the anti-bacterial lotions! I work at a hospital and my hands get dried out from so much washing and alcohol based sanitizers

My tub is also to small for bubble baths but everything else is fair game. Body mists are a favorite though!

My grandma decided to get me this entire frog bathroom set for my college graduation.
I have a froggy trash can and even a bobblehead froggy soap dispenser XD
as far as extra from bath and bodyworks - love almost everything and anything.
The only things that I'd not use are anything that's like glitter/luster body sprays or lotions.
And don't have a wallflower currently, so I couldn't use a wallflower cartridge XD unless someone gets me the whole wallflower!
the thing I use most of is the bodysprays and shower gels. I use them on a complete daily basis.
Things like lipglosses, loufas, wash clothes, whatever are also OK too ^__^
or if I get a swap partner that just can't go into bath and body works (for the smell or they just dont live in proximity to one) then don't worry about it!

Oh! You can still get Cucumber Melon On BBW website, alot of the discontinued scents are still there! I just wish they still had the Blushing Cherry Blossom there, that scent was HTF even when it was in the stores, I love it, but only have the body spray now, I used up everything else I had!

Btw, if anyone has difficulties trying to get their pony to smell like the B&BW scents, I have an idea. I was at Michaels today and went down the candle isle. They have a huge section of oils. Essentially, any oils will work in the hair. :P

You would need to be careful about testing the oils in the hair to make sure they don't stain the hair.
As far as scenting goes.. Im going to guess that boiling a pony and it's hair in scented water may work. The dollyhair scents are water based, but the oil based ones would likely work too. Or even body sprays? May take a lot more with a spray though since the others are so concentrated.
I think to scent the body, it takes a lot longer boiling the pony.. And I would be worried that a FBR would ruin the scent.. But scenting the hair is pretty easy. Just do it during the styling process, or if it will be straight hair, do it whenever.. Put it in the water and bring the water to a simmer, then turn it off and let it cool to room temperature. Let the hair dry and presto. Scented hair :)

Hmm, I'm not sure how to go about scenting a pony body. I could see how that method would work, boiling it into the pony. Hmm, maybe I'll try it out.

I've also heard that stuffing the body with cotten balls soaked in it works too. Though it would be harder to do on a G4 body, and might have molding problems. So that might be something you want to look up.

Yeah, I think that method is only if you're having trouble not staining the hair.
I'm thinking of doing the double method. Where you set it in before you hair, and then do it again after you style. :D

I shampooed and conditioned a pony's hair once with scented shampoo and conditioner and the scent stayed for a while, but not permanent sadly
what if you scented the cotton balls and put it in the body throughout working on the pony? would the scent maybe soak in enough that when you actually remove the cotton balls before putting the head on that the scent might stay?
or one of those scent sachets? I think those are meant to go in drawers and not absorb moisture... or maybe putting some silica packs in with the cotton balls?

Speaking of traumatic things... I am going to be withdrawing as a participant in this swap :( I will still be running it, and if horrible things happen with ponies going missing, I will still take care of that.
The reason for this is that in the last two days, I have learned that my overnight position at work will be eliminated come September 1st. My store manager however, wants to eliminate the position NOW, and switch me to days starting next WEEK. I cannot go back to working days. My husband works nights and when we had separate shifts before it almost destroyed our relationship. I refuse to go through that again.
Currently I am trying to find a new store to transfer to, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that. I'm also struggling to find places to turn in an application to possibly get a NEW job. My car will be paid off in September, so all of this is happening at a good time. Once I secure my overnight job, I am going to look into going back to school.
It's all scary and life changing, but I have been unhappy with my job for years now, and I feel pushed in this direction. Everything just seems right right now.

For those who asked, No, my employer is not Wal-Mart lol. Once before, but never again. I work for a grocery store called Kroger which is owned by Fred Meyer.
I do overnight baking and cake decorating. Thing is, I have been with the company for so long that Iam pretty much topped out on pay. I get a raise of about .25 once a year.
So Im considering going to school for a registered veterinary technician degree. At this point, its basically a matter of "Well, I used to want to work with animals in high school, so why not?" There are 24 hour pet hospitals around here I could apply at, and quite a few career options that come with the license. My decision may change after talking to a guidance counselor.
I'm scheduled to take the test as a 911 dispatch operator. Fro those of you unfamiliar, 911 is our emergency number here. Any tips and advice on passing that are GREATLY welcomed.
My dilemma is finding a job that is around my current pay grade, or if lower, has the possibility to go higher.

Your situation sounded similar to a couple of friends who work at Walmart, and I worked there for six years before getting fired for an absolutely ridiculous reason. That's why I asked.

Hmm, for any type of job with your local sheriffs office, they require an extensive BG check. They want a complete 10 year job history including dates worked and any time missed between jobs. They also want a long history of residency, driving directions to your current residence and then you'll have an interview and they'll ask you about any social media account you own, even if you haven't accessed Myspace in YEARS and don't know your passwords, they WANT to check that out. Once the interview is done, you have to do a polygraph testing. That's what I failed, not because I lied, but because I control my breathing and it turns up false negatives. Eh. I wish you luck. You need to be emotionless almost in that field. Plus, they have CRAZY hours. It might be different in each state though. :|
You have to think, even if you're taking a wee paycut, you have the chance of still getting promotions. The job market is really tough right now, speaking from experience, and I was really only able to get a much lower paying job with terrible hours and not so great benefits because of my boyfriend's sister.

I always advocate doing something in healthcare. Makes the job market less to deal with. I'm a nursing assistant and I've only applied to two jobs, both called me back and I got a job with the first one. Just a few months ago when i felt like I couldn't do it anymore I tried to get a retail job and I never got a call back. DX

I'm so sorry to hear that. I've been in that position before. My husband was on night crew and I was on days for a long time. it was a very unhappy time and I was thrilled when he got the swing shift. Sometimes he still gets a closing shift and that really sucks too. Almost as bad as when he was on Night Crew.

Oh, wow. I hear all that! I'm stuck working part-time right now because I can't find anything full-time. I took this part-time position because it's such a great company with great benefits and I was hoping to get my foot in the door for full-time. It really is tough out there! I'm working nights as Medical Laboratory Technician for the University of Michigan Hospital. But I know it is hard when you work 2 different shifts and I don't blame you for looking elsewhere. I'd prefer to be working the afternoon shift personally, but with a daughter in school, I'd never even see her on that shift. I do certainly recommend going into the healthcare field though, that's the easiest place to find a job right now. Just make sure your school is accredited for the degree or certificate you want! Just because they offer the program doesn't mean you'll automatically qualify to take any necessary tests for certification. I learned that the hard way, but that's a long story for another day! Good Luck with the 911 test! I'm sure you'll do fine, just take your time, read questions carefully and use common sense!

This. With jobs as scarce as they are nowadays, even the ones that seemed like the easiest to land a few years ago are impossible to get. When I moved to NC it took me six months to find a job, which is like an eternity compared to how long any other job has taken me to find. I was applying for absolutely everything. I've been a working professional for a long dang time, but because I don't have much retail experience I couldn't even get a bottom of the barrel position anywhere. I wasn't even getting "thanks for applying" emails, let alone phone calls! Luckily I found something I love close to home but I'm making half of what I did at my last job. Meh.

You'd be surprised! I'm not a people person, suffer from an anxiety/social anxiety disorder and I do fine. :D So long as you have a caring, caretaker thing you'll be good. Though to be honest I think there is also something similar you can do in vet medicince. :D

Personally, I was including animal healthcare, when I said healthcare. Pets need vets! And everyone still has them. Although I heard something in my area about alot of pets being turned loose because owners can't afford to keep them anymore. I bet ASPCA is dying for more vet techs!

Got derailed assigning partners tonight. Some friends came over and we talked college for a while. They have me convinced that trying to do last minute enrollment now may be my better option. If I can get enough money from grants and scholarships, then the excess will be refunded to me and it can cover me needing to settle for a part time job. That's good news. Wish that had been explained to me when I first attempted school. >.< I just hate how quite a few seem to want you to be already enrolled. Yeah, if I could affor to be enrolled then I wouldnt be applying for these! Grr!

Back to the employment/college thing, I'd recommend medical lab tech if you're not into people. You work in the hospital, but you're testing samples. So you're not working directly with people at all times. I was told that it was a good career choice because a lot of the techs in the area were getting ready to retire. I looked into it and even toured a school before having to go back to retail, but my husband made too much money for me to get any financial aid.

B&BW has all these scents which are medleys of all these different scents, and I'd like to get as close to the original scent as possible. Does anyone have suggestions for mixing certain scents? I was wondering if it would be best to buy a combination of oils and dump them ALL in a pot, or if I should seperately boil different hanks of hair in different scents and then root the pony with a combination of them?
Or do you know if one could use the actual B&BW perfume or body spray the same way you could use an oil and scent them that way? I already know that the B&BW site doesn't have my scent as an oil, but could I dump a thing of the perfume in a pot of boiling water and expect a same/similar result?

I kinda wanted to know this too. I've already ordered my scent and hair, but I might buy another if need be. The scent I'm trying to copy is CONFUSING, and I found a dolly hair that contains a similar ingredient list.
Heheh, I think I made it easy for whomever has me. I love cucumber melon (if they choose that one) and there's a scent for exactly that on Dollyhair. :D And even my other scents aren't hard to figure out. P:
Hmm, also, dyeing. I want to dye my pony just enough to push it's color slightly into another color (for example, if I were doing a light blue and I want it slightly greener) how would I go about that?

Bling, beads, and crystals... Depends on how much is used. A little says a lot. That said, I freaking love glitter.
As for using body spray to scent the hair, I don't know how well that would work out because I think their scents are alcohol-based. I don't know if that would make the hair brittle or break it down further down the road.

I love bling, especially swarovski crystals! And I agree with skig, a little goes a long way in that respect.
I once used perfume in doll hair with good results. It was a Mattel doll so I think it was saran hair, not 100% sure though. I was making Princess Jasmin's hair smell like Jasmin :P it wasn't really permanent though, the scent faded over time, but then again I didn't boil it either.

Also: If you got a "fakie" but it was basically a stolen mold from a g1 or g3, would you be ok with it? If the hair plugs and tail were done right and the paint job was good and it worked with the idea of the custom?

So for those who may send or want B&BW stuff as extras.. Got any preferences? ok- I am not much of a lotion user at all, however I have a horrible addiction to body washes and bubble baths, lol. I'm not big on cologne/perfume, but shampoo is nice and the soaps too (I like the solid ones over the clear gel ones, but any are good). Loofa sponges, any sort of relaxation things are great! Candles are good- but I prefer soy based. I love fruity smells and vanilla- I haven't been into a BBW for oh...probably over 12 years, so I'm not sure on the new scents, here's scents that I do love- Country Apple, coconut, vanilla, Paris Amour is nice, there was a sugar cookie one I think years ago like in the 1990's- I was SO disappointed when that was discontinued, Lemongrass sage, almond, anything citrusy, I'd be interested in seeing what black raspberry vanilla is like, cherry blossom. Also- if you're looking to try some AMAZING AMAZING smelling products (not BBW) try Desert Essence Red Italian Grape (I literally start drooling when I smell it), I also love their red raspberry, coconut, vanilla and apple.
Note- if my partner can't do extras, it's NOT required, I won't be hurt at all. :) I know how tight budgets can get! If you can't go into a BBW store, ebay is a great alternative and you can find some discontinued scents on there! :)
Beads, blings, crystals- love- go for it :)

How does everyone feel about Sparkle Ponies? If it works with your scheme then go for it- I like glitter, sparkle ponies are ok, not my absolute fav, but if it works I'm not opposed.
If you got a "fakie" but it was basically a stolen mold from a g1 or g3, would you be ok with it? If the hair plugs and tail were done right and the paint job was good and it worked with the idea of the custom? Fakies are fine, but I think I'd prefer a G3 or G4 on this one.

-BBW Products: My priorities would be body mists, antibacterial gel (healthcare), and shower gels. Lotions are nice but I can only use them to smell nice and not as an actual lotion. The scent stings. DX Walflowers can be a bit much for me, and candles are nice, but I'm too chicken to light them. :D
And while I'm a giant Cucumber Melon fan as aformentioned, I do like the country scents with apples and cinimmon and spices. Like the fall scents. Or anything fruity, but not too sweet. No vanilla.
I guess I should answer my own question:
Bling, I love it. :D Again, little goes a long way, but I don't mind my pony sparkling.
Naming my pony: Go for it! If you give it a name, you save me the hassel. I'll be just starting my custom collection out of my first persona I made myself, so I'll need every bit of help. P:
Sparkle Ponies: I do like them. :D
Fakies: So longs as they're identical to G1 and G3 I'm for it. I think G1 is my favorite mold followed by G4 followed by G3, but I like them all pretty much!

To answer the earlier question about dying ponies- if all you are wanting is a subtle color difference, I advise against dye and suggest paint. Dye is tricky. To light and it will fade out till you can't even tell its there if you are lucky. If you are unlucky it will fade out in weird colored splotches. So the custom may look good now, but in a few months or years, maybe not.
If you dye it dark, the color will literally last years. It will still fade, but it will still have color. If you get lucky it will fade evenly. If you get unlucky it will develop weird discolored splotches. I dyed a purple pony blue and 5 years later it has brownish copper colored spots and was a hot mess. Didn't alter it's color much. Just wanted to enhance it.
An added complication with dying is that the dye will seep out of the plastic and into your paint. For those who do choose to dye, they often let the baits sit for a couple months after dying to let the color settle.
Those are the facts as I know them. Make your own decisions :)

Personally, I love the names of the BBW scents so I'm good with that, but a unique name is good, too!
I'm not a huge fan of sparkle ponies, but they can be done to look really awesome when it's a integral part of the concept. I once used a sparkle pony fakie in a G3 mold to make a comission of a space themed pony. I dyed it black and it was still transparent so you could see all the sparkles and they looked like stars, it turned out pretty awesome!
A fakie in a G1 or G3 mold would be perfect IMO! That way no real ponies were harmed in the making of this custom! LOL! (of course, I like real ones, too!)

I loooove me some bling! Like a few others said though, moderation is usually key. I don't think I'd want a pony that was solid crystals, but I love a nice design or spattering of them.
As for names, I say name it whatever you want! It's your work, your say! Lol!
And as for extras, they're totally not a requirement! But if you like pulling out all the stops, I totally wouldn't turn my nose up at it! I get the most use out of shower gel. I've lost count of how many 3/4 full bottles of lovely lotion I have around the house. Poor stuff never gets used! I also like anything to scent the house with, room spray, candles, incense, linen spray. I'm a huge sucker for linen spray. I don't have a Wallflower, but that't the kind of thing that's right up my alley.
And the fakie, if it's that G3 mold with the sparkles, I'd say use it! I love those guys!

Sparklies and Crystals-: YES! if they work with the theme :) ;u; I loves teh sparklehs.
Extras: I'm open to everything! but please no refills for the air fresheners - I currently don't have one XD Though I want one for my car LOL
Fakie: As long as it's a G3 mold and in good condition (some fakies have a tendency to be smooshed) then go for it :)
Extra stuff that fits the theme (non BBW); Go for it :D

ick, dying ponies, I've heard about how horrible it can turn out, I really do not want a dyed pony, didn't think to put that in my form >_<
About the b&bw fragrances: I'm allergic to practically all of them... I think midnight pomegranate would be okay though... but I really only use the lotions, the body sprays no matter what fragrance give me bad reactions, and I prefer to use scent free body washes. so for me, as far as the products go the only one I'd actually be interested in is midnight pomegranate body cream >_< 100% definitely not required for my partner to get though! I'm just fine with not getting any scented stuffs.
Fakies: I have yet to find a fakie I like... so I'd prefer no fakies
Sparkle ponies: I despise them..... I spent months trying to get rid of sparkle sky rocket because I hated her >_<
Extras: I prefer just not to get any scented stuff, unless it's like soft soap pomegranate hand soap or like Dove scented body washes and stuff... Those I can handle... However, please please please please please no flower scents, especially not lavender and lilac, I am very highly allergic to flower scents... most fruits I am okay with though, but I hate citrus scents. Pomegranate is my favorite scent, and I haven't found a pomegranate scented product that I'm allergic to yet.. I used to use Dove Pomegranate body wash and shampoos and stuff all the time but my store around here stopped carrying them :cry: it was a sad day for me

Name: I feel happy letting the artist name the work. I have no problems with the B&BW names but I wouldn't mind an original name, either.

Yah, even with 3 day shipping for pony hair, I'll probably be done by the end of the week, lol. When I have an idea, I go for it until I run out of things to add. No airbrushes for me, but I can do airbrushing painting techniques so I never saw the need for one. The only thing that will take me a long time is all the sewing I intend to do.

Played with a bit! Like several of the scents have an overall theme, but different patterns on different products. So like combining the overall idea into your own interpretation would be great!

I like to leave as much creativity up to my partner as possible. As long as the avoid my "extreme dislikes", which I listed, then have at it partner.
That being said... I like metallics for my shinies, LOVE sparkle ponies (even the fakies) I picked my choices based off the smells and colors, the design can be whatever my partner thinks fits the feel.
I never say no to any kind of extras, but they're never required. I'm happy just getting the pony.

XD well, I've had my first customizing mishap.
Tried to dye a pony and all that I got in the end was a dyed hand! :blush: I didn't think about it and just reached in the bowl with my hand to pull the pony out to check on it :duh:
The second I did it I was just like WHAT DID I JUST DO!??!
I panicked for a few hours because NOTHING would get the dye off. I'd read that bleach would take it off, but I wanted to avoid that. Eventually caved and washed my hands with bleach >.< made them dry and nasty, but the dye came out 100%! just a little bit in the corners of my cuticles :P
AND other lesson learned - Meijer brand dye does not dye ponies ;n;
guess we go and find actual rit dye today, as well as break the rubber gloves!

I don't usually get headaches, but I have a hard time going through the candle section or air freshener section at any store! I usually get that kind of "throat closing" type sensation when I hit those spots. Normally I'm fine with scented things, if it's like a candle in my house or something, but something about having hundreds of them all together just puts me into some sensory overload! The only scent I can't handle is cinammon. I don't know what it is, it's not like I'm allergic to it or anything. But anything cinammon scented makes me literally gag. I can't breathe around it at all!

Yes, the really strong scents give me a headache. The worst are the very musky or very spicy perfumes. BTW, whoever has me, I hate Black Amethyst! But only the scent, the name and colors are really cool, I wanted to like it, but definitely a headache one!

Incense. That stuff hurts. Typically it's because the place where I was that overdoes incense also are hiding another smell, but stilll.

As far as extra- loofas and back brushes and artwork are the way to go for me. I'm allergic to fragrance, I can't take baths, and I'm not sure what else that store has since I can't go in. You could always send me a sleep mask filled with lavender. I love those things. Or fingerless gloves. Something girly that while, not directly related, fits with the spoiled and pampered theme.

Love! Love them! My favorite Butterfly are the Monarch, the Blue Morpho Butterfly, Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly, and Papillo Ulysses. Also Pine Butterflies.

Lol definitely not! Only the more extreme scents (cologne, cigarette smoke, heavy exhaust) actually cause me to have restricted breathing, everything else just gives me a sinus migraine. I gotta say no pony is worth a sinus migraine either!

hmmm, steam punk is cool, I love fairy ponies. What catches my eye? Whimsical, magical looking things, simplicity sometimes is better than over loading. Elegance. Eyes are a main thing that draw me in, have a pretty pair of eyes and gorgeous hair...thumbs up!

I do love Egyptian ponies, and those who follow me know I love cultural and fantasy ponies. I'm especially fond of fairies and dragons, and merponies are also lovely. I have a long artistic background, and the well designed, polished ponies stand out more than others to me. ^_^
5 favorite Hasbro ponies? Er... oh man. I guess the prettier the better. I'm fond of the Comicon ponies, since they are so flashy and interesting. I don't know, I like a lot of them.

looking at my custom collection, classic seems to be my favorite. most of the ponies i have, and those that catch my eye, have fabulous color themes and lots of little details
hasbro ponies: cool breeze (shes a green winger!) medley (my first pony, and again, green) minty (theres a theme), lil cupcake (she is a baby...which is what 90% of my g1 collection is...and she has a cupcake!) and munchy

I don't think I really favor any particular theme. I do like a great, cohesive color scheme. And I LOVE music. I've always been very musically-inclined, and my mind is a lyrical vault. So if that can aid my partner in any way, go for it!
Favorite Ponies... Only five?
1. Twinkler. She's glittery and purple, two of my favorite things.
2. Blossom. Likely my first pony, so she holds a special place in my heart.
3. Starshine. Another pony from my earliest memories of them. She has rainbow hair and "star" symbols, two more of my favorite things.
4. Flippity Flop. I LOVE flip flops and wear them year-round, even in the snow sometimes.
5. Kimono. My first G3, along with Pinkie Pie, who sparked my return to active collecting.

Oh gosh, I love them ALL! I love Steampunk styles, sculpted wings, anime/game based ponies, etc. The one thing that really catches my eye are..well, eyes! They're the window to the soul!

Well, I LOVE all G1 babies except BBE's. (I totally agree on that one)
I love ALL the boys whether they're BBs, Mountain Boys, or little boy ponies!
I just ADORE the little summer/windy wing ponies, I even have them all!!

as far as customs, my faves are usually fairy, fantasy, girly type ones (I'm totally in love with pop-girl's customs :P)
(BTW I hate the diva pose, they just look snobby, lol)
5 Hasbro faves, this is tough:
Starshine- I love rainbow hair and I love white ponies.
Starswirl- my fave G3, again, I'm a sucker for white ponies and LOVE her pose!
Dancing Butterflies- I love butterflies, love her pose
Princess Tiffany- there is just something mystical about an all white pony, fave pose
Silver Swirl- not sure exactly why, just think she's gorgeous
Sparkler- love unicorns, love her pose and colors
Yeah I know, that's 6, but deal with it!
Some of you may be wondering why the obvious Moon Dancer is not on my list. She is among my faves, but the reason I chose her for my persona is because when I would play with my ponies as a kid, Baby Moon Dancer was the one who took on my personality, but she's not actually top fave. Again though, I am a sucker for white unicorns.

What is your favorite style of custom pony (ie: egyptian, steam punk, MGR, etc) and why? I really love whimsical ponies, ones that feel imaginative and elegant in it's feel. Egyptian is cool, the MGR ponies are pretty too, I'm not a huge fan of steam punk or like zombie ponies or any of those types. I like more like fairies and cute things and elegant.
What really catches your eye in a custom? The eyes are a huge thing for me, I love some of the absolutely gorgeous eyes I've seen. I also love hairstyles, big ringlet curls or beautiful updos. Wings are a big thing I like too, sculpted wings, butterfly wings... and I love unicorns too :3

Wind Whistler - she is my number one favorite pony ever, she was so intelligent in the series and she's such a pretty pony :3
Buttons - ... she's just freaking adorable :3
Northstar - she and wind whistler made an awesome pair together :3
Whizzer -- loved her in the show she was so cool and talked SUPER fast lol
Wigwam -- he was my only big brother growing up and I forever have an attachment to him

Favorite Style: elegant symplicity. I love elegant looking ponies that aren't overly done with a huge paint job. The little details like hair styling, details to the painted details, etc is what I enjoy :) and just super creative ideas as a whole :)
What catches my eye: high gloss eye... I don't know why, but high gloss eyes are just gorgeous, I don't know what it is, but I just feel like it adds so much life. And again, minimalism design with a straight forward theme/message <3

Gosh ...you know what I want to see that I've only seen once? A native American based custom. I have an obsession and deep love for Native American history and culture. I think customs that really stick out to me are playful. Like I loooooove creampuf's vector customs. Those are right up my alley ;D

If they would be dangerous, do you think that washing them or putting them I'm a bag with baking soda for a while would make them safe?

For me it's only the very heavy/strong scents that give me a headache, lighter ones are ok. Just being in the store would not be a problem for me, personally.

As for unscented things, yeah, that would be fine. Even if it smelled from being in BBW, it would fade fast enough for me to tolerate it. Still, that's why I picked Juniper Breeze as my #1 because it's one of the few scents from there I actually like AND my nose/sinuses like!

hehe, I love unscented stuff, I already have a sleep mask I love so that wouldn't be necessary for me, I have way too many pairs of slippers and too many bath robes too so I'd prefer no more of those either XD
I love bath puffs, you know those meshy puff things you can get for using body wash in the shower and stuff, I have one that's completely worn out right now so I could definitely use a new one xD
There are a few scented things that might give some people ideas for me...
I have some scented candles that I get from walmart that I know do not bother me. They're either Mainstays brand or Better Home and Garden brand, but they come in glass jars that have a silver lid on them. The scents I really like are:
Fresh Bamboo - #1 fave
Rose petals
Garden Rain
There is also a mango one that I really like, and the lime sherbet... any of the fruit ones don't bother me.
Absolutely NO FLOWER scents though, every single one of those bother me.
There are also scented waxes... the fruit ones are all wonderful for me as well, dragon fruit is one I really like (I already have an LED wax burner, so I don't need one of those)
oh and to answer Knibitz: I Lurrrrrrrv the flashy things O.O

(yes, I dream that I'm wide awake and doing things, which makes it really hard to tell sometimes if I really did something or just dreamed it! >_< )

My accent walls are a deep teal (XD actually the color of MonstarNomNom's persona in her avatar LOL *points up*)
My furniture is black and white with accents of deep teal and dark red
my bathroom is completely different and is all lime green and bright blue frog themed XDDDDDDD (It was a graduation present from my grandma... I don't even know *plays with my bobblehead froggy soap dispenser*)
And my bedroom has another teal accent wall, but my bedding is white, lime green, and grey.
IM REALLY GAME FOR WHATEVER :D
I will say, though, I probably won't keep the pony in the bathroom :B (my kitty likes to jump all over the counter)

The colors of my apartment are pretty standard. White walls, medium tan carpet, white tile. It's also a pre-furnished apartment so it's all quite bland. As for my stuff... well it's honestly a mishmash of things I got for cheap/free off other people, chosen for their function rather than purpose. Milk crates, mis-matched book shelves, a questionably good-working microwave, a black set of drawers that someone put out on the curb... I'm a total opportunist. At least I can't look at some random pony and say hey, this doesn't go with my theme because well... what theme?

my pony room has white walls and a sand colored carpet. It's filled with all kinds of colorful ponies so I kept the walls neutral. My living room is carribean green and sand carpet, my bedroom is sky blue with sand carpet.

I've made a few bases. For some odd reason, I wind up making them for my swaps anyway. I wouldn't mind a base. I usually put my customs in a glass cabinet though with my boys or other ponies. :)

Non-BBW stuff would likely have to be home scents like candles, tarts, or room sprays; no incense, please. I sometimes have allergic reactions to new body products, so I tend to stick with what I know works. Anything mani/pedi-related is OK; I love to art up my nails and soak my feet in my foot spa.
Carousel ponies are OK, as are bases.
I was shopping at BBW again today. The new Warm Apple Cider, Vanilla Buttercream, and Black Cherry Merlot scents are AWESOME! Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is always a favorite. And the Apple Pumpkin Yankee Candle scent smells SOOO yummy too! I bought it in car air freshener form at Hallmark.

I'm really super easy, I will honestly love whatever my partner makes! I'd rather have someone's interpretation of the concept, where they make it their own art and idea, than something that's just a list of things I kinda like! Lol! But anywaaaaay....
MGR Ponies = Love
TE = Love if they're done well enough. I'm not so much a fan of a jewel just glued on top of a factory eye. But you know what? If it fits your concept...DO IT!
Ribbons = More love!
Flashing Strobe Light = I'm definitely not epileptic, so let the dance party begin!
Colors = I'm still working on this house, and don't have everything nailed down yet. Every room is something different, but my pony room (when done) will be plain white. So anything goes with ponies! If you're talking about accessories, anything neutral, black, red, grey/blue or sage will fit in somewhere right now.
Whew! I think I got them all! And I really wish my partner would POST MOAR!! Lol!

MGR Ponies = Honestly haven't seen them before but I can imagine them... sounds like a cute idea, if my partner wants to do it, but def. not a necessity. It does feel like it might detract from the theme a bit, to me, but I wouldn't say no if my partner felt it really added to it.
TE = Same as above, especially if done well.
Ribbons = I'm good with ribbons.

Colors = Adjustments / interpretations based on the theme would be fine. :)

I'm down with whatever works for the project, but most of my favorite customs have a g3 or g4 base. Almost all of my all time favorites are made by Pop-Girl! I love her simplicity, how she lets the paint show the design off instead of lots of accessories.

I think I've said before that I don't like the G3 diva pose, however, I still use it in my customs because it is often the most fitting for the overall concept. So having said that, I will still accept this pose, if that's what fits for your concept. Oh, and I love Twinkle Eyes!

I'm neautral to most G3 poses. Kimono is my favorite and I LOATH BEYOND REASON the donkey pose, the broken neck pose, and the Sunnydaze pose. I hate Breezies. I think they are freakish bug like creatures.

Oh, twinkle eye, thanks! I'm still a bit new to some of the slang going around, bear with me lol. I suppose I would be alright with twinkle eyes if done correctly. I remember making one where I did put in acrylic gems for the eyes in a dragon pony, but I was careful and it suited the custom so that's all I would ask!
Princess ponies: *shrug* Sure, I guess.
Poses I dislike: I don't like 3.5, no secret there! Anything else is alright. I prefer G3 poses, hate the donkey pose, and the rest I'm alright with. I love pegasus ones, but they are a pain to rehair!
Ribbons: I use them all the time, just make it tasteful. :)

Am I the only person here who thinks the donkey pose is cute? LOL. I admit it sometimes isn't the best for theme purposes but I like it, it any case. My favorite G3 poses are Diva, Kimono, Sunny Daze (also heard it called "sassy"), and the Sweetie Belle unicorn. I don't like the Walking Rainbow Dash or Broken neck.

Okay, I amend my statment. I don't like this pose. But I do like all the other's looking through them. Even the donkey pose.

I guess the donkey pose is ok if you have the right custom for it, I've seen a few that I like, admittedly. I guess it's just that there are so many floating out there, just like the walking pose and the G1 collector pose. I've done a LOT of walking pose ponies, simply because that's what I usually find out there, but I'm careful to make them unique and interesting. Even core pose can be attractive with a good idea.

Well, I got the pony re-haired. Now to move on to sculpting. I've never had it take so long before. That was 11 hours of re-hairing. I guess making hand blended plugs really adds time to that. :p

I hope so too. I'm hoping this will all tie in together the way I want it to. I'm doing something a bit different that what I would normally do. This will probably end up being a very colorful, very bold pony.

If you are ordering hair from Dollyhair, I think it's supposed to be a bit slow, or at least it was when I first looked at it. I just ordered a bunch of Katsilk instead, just in case it would take a while for DH to ship.

AHH!! I finally decided on a color scheme, dyed my new bait and hair. *giggles* That part was exciting!! I have a new super secret product added in the hurr and I was able to get my scented oils right as I was dying!! YAY! SCENTS!
If anyone is wondering, the site I listed earlier has the similar scents. I bought a few and they smell almost exactly like the product. I bought a Midnight Pomegranate and had my boyfriend smell it and then smell my lotion, he said they're very similar!
Woop woop! Now I gotta wash the hair to get the greasy oil out. :P

Although I think I answered a few specific questions in private/an addendum, I figured I better keep up with answers in here, but I'm going to just do a blanket response and say I'm VERY easy going about custom ponies, no holds barred except for NO sculpted hair...pony's hair is for brushing! . MGRs are awesome, I love almost all ponies equally, the ONLY 2 kinds of ponies I'm not a big fan of are Perfume Puffs and baby mermaids, otehrwise I love them all...and I'd NEVER turn down ANYpony
As far as extras I'm all for pampering, I like feminine AND masculine/musky scents, but most of all I love FOOD scents...

Finally got the sculpting to a point where I liked it so that's done and baked. Now I just need to do the painting and the pony will be done. Then I'll have to think about extras.

I never used the rehairing tool, but I have a long doll needle and it works well for getting plugs in, so no big.

I have the re-hairing tool from Pop-Girl. I only use it on certain ponies though. if the plastic is too squishy I end up ruining the hair line.

I found that heating the pony up just a very few seconds with a hair dryer every few plugs make the plastic pliable so you don't rip any holes :D
Just be very careful to keep the hair out of direct contact with the heated air or you risk burning it >.<

It kind of depends on your partner. if they are allergic to fragrance, nothing scented. But if they are good with fragrance, it could be the B&BW stuff that the pony is based off of.
If it's nothing scented it could be a sleep mask, pretty unscented candles, back scrubber etc.
Or it could just be some delectable candies. Like I'm a sucker for See's Candies lolly pops. particularly butterscotch, latte, and chocolate! Yummy. And those won't melt in transit. But it could be stuff like worther's originals, or something like that too.
It really all depends on who your partner is and what their preferences are.

Well a lot of people send candy along ;D (love love love love love candy xD) but usually there's a part in the sign up form where they list their other interests and such? I think? I'm not the best person to be answering this probably. Lol stickers are always a good thing! Stationary is fun too :3 It all depends on your partner really. Haha ^.^

well swap "extras" are not required...they are extras XD the main focus should be your pony!
but little items to go along with the swap theme, or things you think your partner might like....and candy and stickers are always a big "extras" hit.
I am going to hit up my BBW and see if any of my partners scents are in travel size (ships better) and the dollar bins at Target are always a good spot for swap extras ^_^

I will echo Jupi and say that the main focus is the pony. If you run out of time or money for extras, or just feel too lazy to get them, then no worries ;)
When I find extras for the swaps I have done I have shopped the discount isle at my Walmart or michaels. You can find some neat stuff real cheap. just consider the weather when you get ready to mail. If its super hot out at you or your partners location, and you send chocolate, then that could melt all over everything inside your box.

I love stickers, personally. I stick all sorts of things on my computer or wherever. I can't have candles (apartment rules, ugh), I don't use things like scrubbers or masks or any of that whatnot, and most of my bath/shower stuff is no-frills and minimal lol. I can't have stuff that's scented too heavily, even "soothing" lavender can get to me, so I suppose that something like stickers would be good for someone like me. I'll be making a friendship bracelet with embroidery floss for my partner, hope they like it. :)

you should totally get a flameless wax burner. I have one and I love it, it's an led candle that warms and melts scented wax :3

I just went into B&B yesterday for the first time in like a year! I tried tons of new scents and just fell in love with Secret Wonderland and Be Enchanted! They're awesome! I liked Country Chic, too!

This checkup is basically just to make sure everyone is still playing along. We had one person who needed to be excused from the swap, so the first checkin is just to see if there are any other replacements that need to be made now while it is still early.

If you have a sporting goods store (Scheels, Cabela's, etc.) that carry tackle, that might be a better place to look. They specialize in those things and would be a more reliable place to find them if you can't get them at Walmart.

That's where my friend said to find them. They aren't cheap, but they're tough kinds. Apparently they're probably used for wire splicing I'd imagine. It's in the wire isle.

Personally I'm not a fan of total updos. I don't mind a few strands in a bun, but I like having flowing locks on my ponies! I like straight or curly, whichever goes best. I am NOT a fan of craaaaaaazy long hair. I don't mind it being a bit longer than the pony itself, but if I go to display a pony and the hair takes up half the shelf...well...that's too much hair! Lol!

I like slick smooth straight hair to slightly wavy, but honestly I'm not all that picky about hair. I just like it to look good with the custom. In the right circumstances even bold can look sweet.

I haven't done it yet, but I plan to rehair my gal then dunk her hair into boiling water with the scent in it and hope it works :) Because I don't want to have to scent entire skeins of hair o3o That would be not so desirable when I want to use the rest of the hair on another pony x3

Hey Maniah, you have a series of messages from me now. the pony is almost done. I really am sorry about the delay. I kind of lost track of the days this week. I thought yesterday was the 17th honestly, till someone told me otherwise. but by then it was late and I crashed when I got home.
I found out I was pregnant on Wednesday so that probably explains why I've been sleeping so much. Like get up at 8am and crash by 2:30 pm. sleep till 8:30 pm, wake up, pick husband up from work, come home, eat dinner. fall asleep again. repeat process. That's been going on since last Thursday, so I did loose some time in there.
But never fear. My partner will be getting a pony. I have yet to bail on a swap and have no intentions of starting now.
My favorite hairstyle? ringlettes or straight. But I'm less a fan buns and twists around the pins.

My pony had a gorgeous tail, eyes and about 3/4 of a mane. After finishing the rest of the plugs, I have a tiny bit of sculpting I may do, then style the hair and add her symbol and she'll be done. I'll send what photos I have soon when I upload them, but I have to work on Halloween costumes for the nieces and nephew this weekend. :/

if you have an android phone you can download the Photobucket application and upload pictures to your photobucket right on your phone :3 I have been doing that a lot, and then you can take the link from that photobucket and use your phone to post it on the arena. It's complicated sometimes, but it does work

Hi, everyone! Hope you're all having as much fun making your swap ponies as I am!
Since I'm shopping for scents for my girl, I had an idea to create some scented ponies as Christmas gifts for friends at work. I'd love to hear everyone's favorite Christmas Scents (B&BW, Yankee Candle, or whatever brand). I was thinking one of my ponies would be a Winter Snow Fairy and I think she'd be great with a scent, but not sure what to give her! I have a couple of other ideas in mind, although some of my themes would not really call for scents.... one girl loves Wizard of Oz and Wicked so I wanted to make an Elphalba, but what scent would go with her, LOL?!
Anyway, Christmas-themed scent suggestions would really be appreciated! Thanks!

I scented white hair..came out just fine. I actually dyed it first, then scented. I used Nylon though. Some fibers may not take so well.
I like cookie smells or anything that has a sweet scent to it...Winter Candy Apple, Vanilla Bean Noel, Frosted Snowberry. *drool*

I keep the tie in the middle and work my way up to it, then move it or remove it if necessary. It all depends on how you're dying it. I recently used one hank and dyed it in a few gradients horizontally, starting from the top or lightest color first, then the mid section, then the last. If you're going for vertical stripes, you probably need to separate the hair and dye it separately.

I have scented white hair, and the results vary depending on the scent. If the scent is vanilla based, it is more likely to discolor the hair. Always test a small portion first. I turned two hanks yellow because I didn't test it first :(
As to keeping it together, I just put a twist tie around the hank in the center.. If it does get discolor end though, then the twist tie will likely protect a tiny thin strip and keep it closer to the original color because the hair is so tightly bound. But it is barely noticible.

did you have rinse the hair after? some of my hair has an odd texture. i hoped to avoid rinsing it after so that the smell would still be strong

No, I did not rinse the hair after. The tutorial I followed over at Dollyhair says that if you have to wet the hair again (like for styling) then to scent that water too or you risk removing the scent from the pony.

I've washed a little after, and it did just fine for me. I always have to rinse after dying and I did after scenting too, otherwise it's too greasy.
Also, I have to put off pony work for a while due to my boyfriend having an accident on my motorcycle yesterday in Daytona. I wont be able to finish early like I wanted to since he broke his leg. I have to play nurse for a while.

I'm usually very limited by what tools/supplies I have on hand, so it limits my creativity, probably for the best! Usually when I get an idea, though, I just go with it all out and finish way too fast. XD

Just an update and a bumpity bump. I still have a few tiny details to work out, then a nice little curl and she's ready to go to her new home. I had to bring my supplies over to the in-laws house to work on her and I'm waiting on a few supplies in the mail which should be here on Monday. I may still get her our early. :)
And my boyfriend broke his Tibia and my motorcycle, but at least he's still alive. Playing nurse has been very exhausting. Glad I don't have a job right now, I guess. >.>

I'm stuck at work today and I brought mine with me. Amazingly enough I actually got some work done on it! Have my design all sketched out. I'm just hoping I don't run into any issues painting it on. I'm already so far behind where I want to be, but I had to redo my dang FBR 3 times and I spent a ton of time on some wings that I decided to scrap. I'm totally sucking at time management with this one!! Luckily I can do a rehair and style all in one night. The paintwork should be able to get done in just a few sessions. I'm pretty pleased with my design now that I have it nailed down. I was back and forth on it for so long, this was more of a challenge than I thought it would be!

I'd recommend shipping ASAP. Although it's only November yet, there are still a lot of things going out around turkey day, even the week before. If we can ship even a little early, it would be a good idea.

I've redone mine a few times too and I'm not totally happy with her either, but I'm in LOVE with her face so I'm not touching her again. I literally have like half the plugs in her head and a wash for her and she's done. I'm just being super lazy (trying to recover from work).
Though I DO have extras. Bath and Bodyworks has a few sales going on right now. And I found an ADORABLE little extra that almost fits my partners list, but hehe not quite. But I think it's cute and they'll find something to do with it I'm sure. P:

Please remember to leave feedback for your swap partner when you receive your swap pony. With the new swap rules in place, this is very important. Some swaps require a set number of feedback specifically from swaps, so if you fail to leave the feedback, there is a chance it could hold your partner back from something they want to do later on.

I know this doesn't help unless you have a scale.. But if you ship Priority, you can schedule a pickup and just leave it on the porch for the mailman to pick up.
Other than that.. Maybe you can find a post office that has an automated machine? If it's a small package within the USA (and I dont remember if your partner is or isnt) then you can go get postage and put it in the drop box.
But I have seen your finished pictures, so I know you are done and I know you will get it mailed out when you can. :)

I received my pony from my swap partner, just have to ship mine. Heck if I know when. I work mid-shift so while I'm working everything is either closed when I get off or I can't wake up to do it before I have to scramble to leave. I can't seem to find time to do anything anymore! O_O
I know this doesn't help unless you have a scale.. But if you ship Priority, you can schedule a pickup and just leave it on the porch for the mailman to pick up.
Other than that.. Maybe you can find a post office that has an automated machine? If it's a small package within the USA (and I dont remember if your partner is or isnt) then you can go get postage and put it in the drop box.
But I have seen your finished pictures, so I know you are done and I know you will get it mailed out when you can. :)
I live in an apartment complex, we're not supposed to put things out for pick-up and I wouldn't feel good doing that anyway. I might be able to slip it out before work on Monday, it should be alright!
And yes Knibitz, she got here just fine and she is lovely! I'll have to help photo-spam!

If you are not done, I need you to tell me how much longer you are going to be. Part of the fun of a swap is getting the ponies shipped out on time. I understand that real life happens, but please try to stay close to the date.

Mine is on her merry way! Dropped her off at the post office a little while ago. I was hoping to go to Bath and Bodyworks yesterday, but it was storming all day long here. I just couldn't bring myself to make the trek into town! I did find some stuff at a shop near home that fit my pony's theme though! Yay!! I hope my partner likes her, I'm pretty happy with how she turned out. Not perfect, but not too shabby considering I haven't really worked on a custom in about 3 or 4 years!

Ugh, the shipping of my package is taking forever. I shipped out on the 13th, and it arrived in Miami on the 16th and shipped over seas on the 17th. It should arrive soon I hope!! Yup, the flowers are sticking perfectly! I'm glad you didn't get me any bath stuff lol. I got a cute glow in the dark ducky (I love glowy stuff!) and a bath poof. I'm allergic to an awful lot of things so I was glad I got these lol. Looks like you got a pretty fancy pony yourself! :D

Lol. Yep, that's me!! I'm so super happy you like her. I knew you really liked the squirrel scent portable, so I had to get it for you. :)
Her eyes were quite the challenge but I thought they came out well. She is also scented with Secret Wonderland scent in both her hair and her body. I hope she still smells good.

Today I went outside to find a package, and about halfway down the driveway were driven over letters. DX
One of them was clothes for another swap of mine! (thankfully they're good).

dude.... I watched a USPS driver one time step on a box for me and I was like "WTF are you doing?" and he was like "Umm... nothing" and he took off and left the package where it was
I think they play football in the warehouses and also check for fragile things by dropping it off a balcony, they also enjoy stacking larger boxes on top of smaller ones

That's just horrible. Considering they get paid a steady hourly wage and get pension and retirement they should be thrilled and treat packages with care.

I think they're generally in such a rush to get finished that they honestly just don't care if it's fragile or not. I've been told by people who have worked for couriers etc. to write "Please handle with care" rather than 'fragile'.

@Tinker: Yeah -.- right now I'm battling with USPS because I had ordered hair from Retro dolls like at the beginning of November, that one got lost somewhere in the mail and I still haven't gotten it, so enchantress was awesome and sent me a replacement... only to have that one go missing too! We have tracking on it, and I've had to open up a case with USPS to try and find the thing. I hate USPS so much right now -.- I needed that hair WEEKS ago! *smacks USPS around* -.- I'm so gonna be giving them a piece of my mind when they call me tomorrow with the results of the case. I'm also gonna make them look into the matter of the original missing package too, no tracking on it, but I want them to check with EVERY USPS center between Enchantress and here to see if they have a package laying in one of the centers addressed to me :angry: :argh:

I have had lots of fun participating in this swap. you did a great job.
And apparently the "Little Piece of Rainbow" pony that I was commissioned to do, that was super packaged and mailed out on the same day, came even more broken. Like super broken. So I'm having it sent back to me to be fixed and I'm going to mail it back FedEx. Two in a row. And one really really broken despite being wrapped in bubble wrap, tissue paper, packing peanuts, a hard/thick cardboard box, and being labeled fragil? I just don't know that I trust USPS anymore. That and being told by their customer service that paying for delivery confirmation doesn't guarantee that they will actually scan the code or track the package and that if I want the package tracked, I need to pay for "express shipping".
I've never had this happen before. I"m beyond upset with USPS.

USPS fears me right now >.>
I filed a claim for my package from RDUS that went missing (mind you the first one went missing, and now the second one is missing too!) they came back to me on the claim today and were like "Sorry we can't do anything please wait, the tracking states it's in transit"
I was like.... DUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHH! and I called USPS back and told them that their answer is unacceptable and i want them to find the package, not tell me to wait. The rep escalated the claim and they said they'll get back to me either today or monday with the results of the research, and if they try to give me that answer again, I will escalate it even further.
Even if I have to contact the freaking president I will! :angry:

I got my pony! I actually got her Friday, but I was selling at a craft fair yesterday and had no time to post. It is Wild Honeysuckle from Heftysmurf76! I love her, she's even in my all-time favorite pose! My daughter loves her, too, and it inspired her to make a bracelet to match the pony! When I get the chance I'll post a pic of her bracelet. And , no, hefty, I did not know honeysuckle came in purple!

I'm so sorry partner, I'm having the most gosh awful luck with my PO. This is the 4th (3 from swaps!) pony to be delayed/gone missing. Tracking had D-date as the 1st, now it's changed to the 10th. I didn't know they could do that on express delivery.
I hope and pray to the Deity of the PO that the pony is actually delivered by then.
