Title: Please help with mcdonalds G3s
Post by: HavACrumpet452 on July 30, 2012, 03:22:58 PM
What is your preferred method for cutting the tails off of mcdonalds G3's? I've been using a paring knife but its difficult to get between the back legs. I'm afraid to use an xacto knife because the blades are thin and weak. Do you sand down the tail to get it as close to the skin as possible? How do you make the tail hole?

An exacto knife & dremel are your best friends here :) As long as your blades are sharp, they'll slice right through the plastic no problem, just watch your hands. Then dremel to sand down any extra plastic you missed, & drill out the tail hole.

I've used a craft/ex-acto knife for one. Heating up the plastic helps too :) Dremel/drill for the tail hole

If you have a dermel you can get what they call a take off wheel, or cutting wheel.  NOT metal ones they can hurt you big time.  But ones made our resin or heavy duty sanding paper ones, they can cut most plastics easily.  Also the Rio Rondo Carbide Scrappers would work great for getting it neat and tidy.
