I've been trying to make up my mind about the Tangkou dolls for a while now. Sometimes they seem really awesome, somewhat creepy but in a cool way (just like Blythes :D) . I'm thinking of maybe getting one (possibly Aussie <3), but I want to see some legit photos of them! I've read some reviews and browsed Flickr, but now it's your time to show me your Tangkous! Spam spam spam! :P

They're wonderful as long as you know exactly what you're getting into. I don't know if changes have been made with the newer dolls, but mine was disappointing, to say the least. The website I got her from was allegedly run by a (longtime?) doll collector but missed very very important information, like the printed-on underwear and random eyelid/accessory colors. But if you're fully informed, they're lovely dolls. I really adore my Marjorie, an Aussie.

Though I will warn you that she arrived like this. She was totally fine, but her eye mech got messed up and her wig did not like the plastic. It was a very traumatic box opening.

Woah, Marjorie was a mess in the box. o_O This supports the info I've got so far. Double-check pretty much everything etc.  Aussie is pretty tho. I'll have to invest in one of these some day. :D I just got myself into buying a Dal so I'll have to put this project to side for a while.

Yeah, her arrival was a really really bad day. xD But I've gotten past it, and I love her now. And I will say that even though the site was very misleading, the owner was kind when I contacted her. She understood my concerns (and made changes to the site) and even sent me a free pink accessory set (I got beige and was heartbroken) along with an out of the blue set of Paris stock (all but stockings). She was even very eager to send me a free doll to customize when she confused me for someone on Flickr customizing their Aussie. However the website still leaves some things unmentioned, but its much better now. So yeah.

Here's a little bit more Alex pic spam, if you guys don't mind. ;) I'm not sure if this is the same for the other Tangkou dolls, but Aussie's tank top actually had no Velcro on it.  :blink: It evidently wasn't meant to be taken off. I undid the seam and I plan to put some Velcro on it. In the meantime, I put some Barbie clothes on her, and I found that they're a WONDERFUL fit!

Pressley's hoodie had the same problem, but I just slid it over her body. I heard a little rip in the process but it looks fine.

Blythes have very different faces/heads, and Blythes have awful little "Barbie bodies" with no joints. :3 Tangkous are like a Pullip/Blythe hybrid. I can take some comparison shots if you want.

Also, Tangkou doesn't have a pull string like Blythe does. Instead, you change her eye color by pressing a button on the back of her head.

I really like that. I don't need a dangly string on my dolly.

I don't know if any of us have "discovered" this yet, but Marjorie fits handmade Blythe clothes! :D Tomorrow I'll try my Blythe's stock, Pullip stocks, and Moxie Girlz stuff, as I've never experimented with her and clothing. This shirt is a bit big at the bottom (and short, depending on what she's wearing with it), but I think it looks really nice. Pinching it back for photos with this skirt makes it look perfect.

I've been taking WAY too many photos of Marjorie lately to post here (you can see the photos here (http://taxelponies.shutterfly.com/dolls/158)), but I can confirm that Blythe boots fit like a dream and Monster High boy clothes fit somewhat! The pants didn't go up high enough or close, but the belt hid that. Blythe shorts also fit, but didn't close. A long sleeved Blythe shirt fit fine, but only with her arms down. A Bratz boy shirt (from my childhood, dunno if their sizes have changed) also fit her pretty well.

Welllllllp. I was finally sold. I got one. :D I got Italia. I don't TOTALLY see the difference between her and England, but maybe her hair is lighter? I like the clothes a bit more. :D I want simpler stuff P:

Congrats!!! :D I really want Italia, but only if I can be guaranteed the pink and white bow eyelids. I wanted France too, but I have her entire stock (even her wig) except for her socks. . .the one part I really want!

I know one of them has/had varying hair colors. I think England? I was told (by the person running tangkoudoll.com) that the company randomly changed the shade of her hair. >.< They were/are terrible with consistency. But beyond that and clothes I think England and Italia are identical (since the earlier girls have identical faceups).

And new Marjorie photos! More here (http://taxelponies.shutterfly.com/dolls/158). We're in California for Christmas, and I can actually go outside! :D Its still cold but tolerable for a bit at a time. Once we get the tree set up expect lots more spam.

Honestly, I heeded your warnings with the dolls and I'm alright with it. :D Though I would like something different than the plaid eyelids, but I'll be fine with it if that's what Ig et. :D

Marjorie is a thief! She steals clothing from all my other dolls. xD Its nice though since she can share Liv, Barbie, and Pullip clothes more or less.

As long as you know what you're getting into, they're lovely dolls! :D Lying sellers are what the real issue is, but info is much better than when I bought Marjorie. I want at least one more of the $35-45 ones. And I'm so torn between loving and hating the vampire!

I adore her dress! I'm not a fan of the orange eyeshadow though. It looks so odd! I kinda want Loli too. I love her dress, stockings, hair, and box art. But she's got orange eyeshadow too and it looks kinda sickly and odd. I don't think I'd be able to justify $70 for her though, or any Tangkou again. Unless they improve the wrists and get rid of the printed-on undies at least.

I actually like the wrists. This might be because I have a type 3 Pullip, though, and Tangkou's wrists are less prone to cracking.

The wrists piss me off more than anything else. They can't even wave! Its so aggravating. I'm used to my Livs, so Marjorie is a pain for me to pose. I love her and I love most of her body (their stomachs and legs are so pretty!) so I don't want to stick her on another body. If Tangkous got Liv-like wrists I'd be so thrilled. I'd buy one just to body swap Marjorie.

well I started of thinking id just get one of the Tangkou dolls and a few months later I have 4!! I absolutly love them!! Im the same with the Vampire though! im not sure if I love or hate her!! ha ha and funnily enough it was the Ausie doll that had me liking them and I still dont have her!! If I can work out how to put pictures and I doubt it ;) ill put some on!!
I need some advice as I saw the discontinued Tangkous dressed as Rerd iding hood etc.. they look so cute and I am in two minds whether to get them but I know they dont bend etc but does anyone have any tey can tell me about?

I'd say try and decide which outfit you like best, since they all have the same face-up and eyes. And it looks like they have the same wigs, Pinnocchio & Yellow Duck and Red Riding Hood & Pink Bunny.

I think I want to try and get Red Riding Hood and Pink Bunny because I adore their outfits.

Im not sure really. Ive only seen them on ebay over here for £21. Ive asked around but cant seem to find out! I think they were discontinued as the people that made them werent happy with the quality someone said so maybe there arent that many around? I could be wrong though and have been told wrong.

Unfortunately I got zero good lighting by either the real tree or the decorated plant, so here's the best Chistmas shot I got of Marjorie. I absolutely adore that dress and I'm pretty disappointed I couldn't use it how I wanted to this year. But on the happy side of things, I was able to order her a new wig with my Christmas money! :D

i got another girl too :0 So now I have Stevie ( France), Hadleigh ( chinese), Kennedy ( loli) and Sydney ( england) Im trying to figure out how to put photos on here as I just love taking them of the girls :)

I didn't want to buy from her because I heard she takes AGES to ship and can be really nasty, but she has free shipping right now and I couldn't find any other fur wig with the same style. She also plans to increase prices soon so I decided to just go for it.

And you can upload photos on like Flickr or Photobucket or Imgur or some other hosting site then post them here. :3

I've actually bought from her twice. The first time it took a month for the wig to arrive, the second time less than a week. But her stuff is super nice and right now at an affordable price. But, I knew the first time would take a long time, I had been warned that she was extremely busy and her postie is far away. I am super happy with the wig, though, so no complaints from me!

Alright, snapped a few shots of Cordelia. It's night right now so the lighting in the room sucks and my camera isn't very good, heh. When I have time Tuesday I'm going to set up something with some lights to take some pics of all my new dollies, but for now these will do!

Yeah, I've heard her wigs are really nice. That and the price is the reason I caved. I just hope I have no issues and my wig gets here fine.

I got one second hand - a few modifications done - she was matted as well as had her eyelids repainted (no pictures of that though) and what I did was change her wig and re-arrange her eyes (switched the purple and green around) - hope you all enjoy ^^

For obvious reasons its not 100% perfect, but also note that I didn't really take any time to try and make it look much better (especially the other side, I didn't even touch it). She stayed up even when I moved her arm and messed with her wig, but she did move a bit when I did. If anyone else tries this I'd just suggest being careful and keeping any dolly-dangerous objects away from the side of the horse in case of a fall.

These first two edited shots are actually pretty bad. xD It was just a quick experiment since my back was hurting so I didn't bother unwinding my light's cord more to get nicer shots. But they serve their purpose and prove it looks pretty good! (Keeping in mind that I put zero effort into posing her aside from the arm in the mane.)

Where else can you buy Tangkous aside from tangkoudoll.com and eBay? The website's email keeps like not being able to receive emails and that's making me really uncomfortable and not wanting to buy from them.

Shipping on tangkoudoll.com actually got bumped up $10 so now its like $25, and it says they might actually be shipped from Europe or North America (when I bought the dealer was in Canada). And eBay shipping is the same price so I've given up on finding affordable shipping for them. XP

And OMG THEY HAVE CLOTHING?! So many socks!!! Thank you thank you for that link!

Edit: Just checked their shipping prices. Vampire at least is more expensive, but shipping is just $24. I'm going to try emailing them.

The person I bought from had already started and lost interest, so now I have a moral obligation to make her as awesome as possible ;)

EDIT: She just arrived and is looking pretty sorry for herself. Decided to dye her wig and rob a Liv for some of her clothes :P

She'd been sand matted, and I wanted to grab a photo while she was still so bare faced. She looks so sweet :3 I also dyed her stock wig a sort of bubblegum pink.
