Title: Issue with Item I received is not as described
Post by: Nappercasper on July 28, 2012, 11:30:16 AM
I have a few MIP cuddles lying around and i was selling them on ebay. All of them have not been opened. And i check over everyone i send out to people. I got a message from a buyer 5 days after they recieved it.
"Hi, I recieved this item but it is not mip. The glue has dried out leaving the seal open. I already have this pony loose so would like to return it for a refund."

I looked at my others upstairs and the glue is about 1cm from the bottom and top of the package. I guess i ll have to look when i get her back.

I offered another pony, but i said i ll refund too. Do you normally refund postage too?

These sort of things disappoint me.

I am sorry you are having troubles. But you did the best thing by offering your buyer two options.

I usually determine return shipping on a case by case bases. If I am at fault I will usually refund their original shipping cost, plus what it costs them to ship it back to me.  If it is buyers remorse, I do not refund the original cost but do refund what it costs them on getting it back to me.

But you are under no obligation to do either of those.  And ebay will not make you either.  I just have found over the years that how I handle return shipping has worked and everyone is usually happy in the end.

  I'm sorry to hear your buyer want  to return the pony - thats always disappointing .
I agree with Ponylady though - you handled it well and are making the effort to keep your buyer happy by giving her more than one option  :bigups:    Like Ponylady said, you dont need to refund her return postage. The buyer normally pays for that, and ebay doesnt require that the seller pays it  (you only normally refund the cost of the item and the original postage), but if you find that it was your mistake  rather than her buyer remorse, then it would be a kindness to offer to pay the return postage as well, though you dont have to  :awake:
Please let us know how it goes.   Hopefully you and your buyer can work this out soon :)

Sounds to me like maybe the heat made the package open.

OR she is picky and complains about things that aren't real issues.

Personally, I would just tell her to return for a refund and get her away from me. You could also ask for photos.
