I was searching Taobao as usual when I ran into a Fashion Style lot that happend to have this:
visitors can't see pics , please register or login
So my question is... Is this another random pony made up by the workers at the Hasbro factory or do you think we can actually expect to see a White Fashion Style Princess Celestia at some point?
-
She has been floating around on Taobao for about 6 months or so now I think [maybe a little less]...she was available from sellers before Ditzy even turned up!
Dont take my word on it but I "think" most of the sellers that have pictures of her no longer have her in stock.
I have a terrible feeling that she is not going to make it to store...the back card on the current wedding FS Princesses with a white Celestia but a pink one in the box points an ugly finger at a change in plan somewhere along the line. i.e. did they do promo shots and an initial run on this lady and then suddenly change their mind to pink and unsurprisingly not redo promo shots of the product?
I am going to hope the last paragraph is a nonsense and she turns up though...no harm in hoping :)
-
I have her and I bought her from a friend about 6 months ago who got her on ebay.
I do wish they would release her though because she is gorgeous in person.
-
Oh, had no idea she's been around Taobao for a while. Then again, I've only been back 2 months so XD
I got very exited finding this and probably got my hopes up a little too high hehe. Would so much like to see them release this one officially - maybe as an exclusive like they are doing with the white talking Celestia if nothing else :)
I mean, come on Hasbro, you gotta match your products with your characters in the show! :P
Oh well, keeping my fingers crossed and in the mean time I'll see if I can buy her of Taobao :)
-
*sigh* I REALLY want this Celestia. She's so beautiful.

 Hathor, you make me cry!! I'm going back to my nice little day dream where I walk through TRU and find Minty, Sweetie Blue, and white FS Celestia sitting on the shelf right there in front of all the other ponies I already own a dozen times over. :P
-
As far as I can tell, she has not made a reappearance on Taobao in almost 2 months. I've placed a couple of Taobao orders since then.
Anyone else see her again?
-
Hoo boy... here we go again with the white Celestia thing! Hasbro LOVES to tease us with white product photos and a pink toy when she hits shelves.
At pony fair, someone asked about it and the Hasbro rep said something along the lines that moms wouldn't buy white toys because they get dirty too easily. I seem to recall Lauren Faust making a comment shortly around the start of FiM that Hasbro felt the white wasn't "girly" enough to sell. I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea.
Will we ever get a direct answer OR a white Celestia?

That is really irritating! As a mother, I could not care less what color my daughter's toys are! I don't worry in the least little bit if her toys get dirty, unless they're plush and not washable. Plastic toys wipe off easily. That's just the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard! And not girly enough? Since when is a white, winged unicorn not girly enough?!! It doesn't get any girly than that! The white unicorns and pegs were my fave as a kid!
-
We have FS Rarity and Shining Armor, who are both white. Hasbro is making up dumb excuses!
I've looked up studies on the color pink and girls... Girls do tend to like pink more, but it's actually shades of red in general. Reds, blues, and purples are most favorable colors, while greens and yellows are least favorable. White is a very gender neutral color, but it looks good with everything!

Oh sorry sweetie  I am desperately hoping it is wrong as well - hopefully she will show up at some point in stores [or even as an exclusive next year :)] - its not so much the show accuracy side of it for me and I am a massive fan of "pink" as a colour but this pony with that hair colour and that symbol just looks gorgeous in white and I would love to have her...so I feel your pain.

Yep I think you are right. I bought mine about 2 months ago, and haven't seen any more since.
-
I want a white celestia as much as anyone else...
You would think that now that we have Cadence it would be a good idea to have white celetia since they might look too much alike if they are both pink
-

Exactly what I was thinking  I don't want to spend money on two ponies that look almost the same.
-
Want want want!! Maybe if we buy enough talking white Celestia's, it will convince them to release her??!
-

Haha! That's new one on me! Because yeah obviously Hasbro NEVER made a white toy........ -.-
-
It is odd but I would assume [as odd as it sounds :P] that Hasbro probably know what they are talking about - Celestia remains pink for a reason and it must be a commercial one...I am sure they dont do it simply to torment us [maybe? :P]
But I remain a member of the "we need that gorgeous white Celestia" team
-
What about the white talking Celestia that is actually being released? What about Rarity and SA and Blossomforth? Those are all white... I don't understand why FS Celestia cant be white too. The "moms won't buy white toys" excuse doesn't work with so many white ponies in production and selling just fine. I just want white Celestia lol.
-
The white talking Celestia has been released as part of the "Collectors Set" thats an indication of where they think she is going to be of the most interest. Rarity is white because they all ready have a pink character in the main 6 so even for HB another pink character may have been over kill. Blossomforth and SA are the only other white characters so far amongst a plethora of pinkness. I dont think they are saying "white ponies wont sell" just that "pink ponies sell better" :P Or at least to their core target market anyway.
-
Ugh...White Celestia...She is SO, SOOOOOO Stunning!!! -grabby hands-
-
The current insert that comes with the new released G4 toys does show a white fashion style celestia. Is she now not being released?
-
Gah, she's so much prettier in white. The way they sometimes show her white on the backs of the boxes is like they're just teasing us!
-
You would think that now that we have Cadence it would be a good idea to have white celetia since they might look too much alike if they are both pink
Actually, I always thought the only reason they INVENTED Cadence, was to make Celestia white and still have a pink alicorn in the toyline. :P
Because hands down, she doesn't make much sense on the show.. why is she there? There's supposed to be only two goddesses. And those are alicorns. OK. WHERE DOES SHE COME FROM?? GIANT PLOTHOLE SHE IS. ..sorry, I'm straying from the topic. xD
Anyways, yeah, apparently that was NOT the reason for Cadence to be created, since Celestia is STILL pink and now her creation bugs me even more. xDD
Also.. the 'white toys get dirty too easily'-argument .................... wth? oô

As has been said, that seems a mess up on the promo pics. Have seen the individually sold Fashion Style Celestia on the shelf and while all the box art showed white, she was definitely pink. So, unless they're coming out with another wave that changes that, doesn't seem likely soon. Blah.
Don't understand one bit why they don't seem to want to change it. There's just no honest excuse for it.
-
I have one of the white fs celsestias and she is honestly one of the prettiest ponies I've ever seen. Definitely the prettiest G4, and way nicer than the talking white celestia. It would be a shame if she didn't get a regular release that is for sure. She is just amazing.

o.0 Holy cow you're right! I just looked at my G4 shelf and there's basically only 3 white G4's! (Well, brushables anyway.)
This is particularly strange to me because there were SO MANY white G3's! The number of white G3 characters actually outnumber the pink ones! (Unless you throw in a lot of the pale purple ones to count as pink, I know the names of different shades are debatable.) Hasbro certainly didn't have any problem making white ponies 5 years ago!

Don't forget Sweetie Belle.
I wasn't sure if only show characters were being listed, but there's also Diamond Rose and Plumsweet among the toys. And DJPon-3 will also be being released soon, but she's also aimed towards the brony/collector market.

Lol good point! I completely forgot about Diamond Rose and yes Sweetie Belle as well...I am still seeing more pink though :)

And I'm sure some of those brony collectors will complain that the DJ is actually slightly yellow, and thus the pure white toy is completely inaccurate and not worth a purchase.

Hahahahaha. "Why can't they make a white Celestia with a pink outline on her body and molded hair that is in the perfect shape but moves when she walks LIKE IN THE SHOW!?"

This is a serious concern of mine. I am hoping Hasbro hire a team of hair physics engineers and professional beauty artists. We have the technology.
-
they could have hair roots ventilated like those air flow game controllers, but i'm sure they'd weigh 5 pounds and cost $40 a piece then.
i'm sure a white fs celestia is slated somewhere at hasbro hq, they released 2 already, so why not 3?

I'm hoping that if she does get released she has matt wings instead of glitter on them, it looks more natural.

I fully realize you're just teasing, yet I cannot help but mention that most bronys aren't that unreasonable when it comes to the toys.
Male toy collectors are simply more used to show accuracy in their toy lines, and have come to expect the toy company to at least try. They also value different things, and if you've seen what's popular amongst toy collectors (Articulation being one thing) it is the complete opposite of the cute simplicity of MLP.
I honestly don't think any brony is going to get upset that Vinyl Scratch isn't the right shade of pale yellow (I didn't even realize that, her outline is grey!) they are just thrilled that Hasbro bothered to make her in the first place. If anything, they'll just complain about the glasses printed over the eye indents and how lazy that was!
-
No brony has complained abaout scratches color. Everyone makes a custom using just Rarity.
-
Of course we're just making a joke, not claiming that it is something someone would actually say. (And we're not singling out male collectors either. I consider female fans to be bronies just like male fans. The term has become gender-neutral these days. Evidence being, I get called a brony when I wear my FiM t-shirt in public, and I am VERY obviously female lol)
I haven't heard of anyone complaining about the DJ toy's coloration either. Thus making it a 'safe' topic to joke about. ;)

I hope this is true! Maybe she'll be a TRU exclusive next year, the way the talking white one is this year!

Talking of Vinyl I was amazed at just how shoddy that was, especially considering they already have eyemolds that fit the glasses perfectly for the round-eye ponies like Pinkie Pie. It was clearly a total rush job with the Rarity mold because I guess that was already tanked up with white plastic or they had blanks or something.
I don't really want to keep complaining (OK, Yes I do. Very much so), but as has been said elsewhere Hasbro's QC has really gone down the tubes.. I'm really glad I got my bangs ponies before they started cutting so many corners.
-
-_- I agree, when I saw the DJ prototype I wasn't alarmed at all, I thought for sure it was just for the prototype and it would be fixed by the time they were massed produced. Then I saw the stock photos for the TRU website and I was like "They didn't fix that!? Wth!"
Way not cool, Hasbro. And they of course threw her in with a giant $30 playset so if we want any of the other characters, we'll have to buy her too.
And if they don't get the amount of sales they're looking for with that playset, of course they're not going to blame their own cheap quality, oh no. No doubt Hasbro will just say "Well obviously the fans of the show don't want to buy the toys, so we'll just go back to focusing on our little girl demographic like we always have."
>.< Grrrr.
-
"Well obviously the fans of the show don't want to buy the toys, so we'll just go back to focusing on our little girl demographic like we always have."
Offtopic and possibly controversial, but I couldn't help but read that in Antoine Dodson's voice.
Valid points though. I wouldn't buy all the extra stuff, I'd just buy her loose off fleabay.. Sometimes Hasbro get stuff Really Right, like with the white brushable celestia and white celestia (if they are ever released) and the DD fashion style (despite supply problems..), othertimes it seems like they are their own worst enemies.

I think it's just that Hasbro really, really doesn't want to make more molds than they absolutely have to for brushable ponies this generation, even if it's something as simple as combining the unicorn horn with round eye indentations.

More head moulds cost more money - I am sure we ll see a little variation eventually but I would guess it will be an only occasionally thing. Personally I can live with the same moulds and eye styles if we could just get some new characters :)
-
I really hope they eventually will release a white FS Celestia. I have all the other FS ponies at the moment except for the SA & Cadence because those aren't in my local Target yet, but I keep skipping over Celestia because I hate how she looks in pink. If they release a white version of her, I'll buy it. Same goes for the smaller brushable that's just shown up as white. I'll buy her when she comes out even though I've skipped all the other Celestia's of that size.
-
Want want want!! Maybe if we buy enough talking white Celestia's, it will convince them to release her??!
Haha good thinking:) I would love to own her in white
