So still on the hunt for my Pink Glitter Twilight Sparkle. I just do my usual searches on taobao...and one of these came up:

i use google translate. and just search for hasbro with the chinese translation of "pony"
or just type in my little pony :P

Man, usually whoever is mucking around at least picks heads that fit on bodies. What on earth are they doing?>_< I guess it is one step better than selling headless ponies.
Edit: Aha, I see, they are just selling these for really cheap amongst some other bad factory errors like "no eyes" and terrible smudges. Interesting.

Hehe, maybe they are testing the waters, but these are dirt cheap. Also every other variant pony sold on Taobao hasn't been more expensive than any regular pony, so I don't think they are trying to take advantage with high prices. I think they are just trying to sell what would otherwise be garbage.

They are definitely trying to sell factory rejects and extra parts- extra parts could be from a mold that is no longer made, or from batches that failed QC (wrong colors, smudges or maybe the plastic did not bind correctly)

See if those franken finds at taobao are directly from the factory, I don't think the assembly people can see correctly because obviously the head is off color from the rest of the body. They attach it anyway. :P

AHH! I live in South Korea and early this year or late last year I went to a market in the capital of Seoul and there was a seller who had about 200 of these things! I thought they were fakies! This same seller had a million G3 Finger Paints and Thistle Whistle. I think I might go back there this weekend and see if this seller has anything else from China. Who knows what I might be able to find...it might be nothing, but who knows!?!

There's a pony collector in South Korea?! I looked for ponies there when I visited my brother almost 2 yrs ago now. I didn't find anything pony-related. It was just before G4 came out though. Good luck on your search! :biggrin:
