G3 Rainbow Dash is definitely the ancestor of both G4 Rainbow and Rarity.

I think it would be mainly because of the resemblance, though. G4 Dashie is no fashionista and she goes bare most of the time, but when she does dress it is, indeed, with style.

Haha, great!  G3.5 RD was pretty girly and G4 RD is so not.  They really changed her personality.  This is totally how New Dash would react to the old, lol.

Well, it's not like G4 Rainbow Dash doesn't dress in style when she dresses at all.

You know, G3 Rainbow Dash is actually visually based off a G1 pony. An unnamed one from the pilot who, most bizarrely, did not have a toy.
