Oh god... Why glitter, WHY?!

Otherwise though, I'm glad images have finally surfaced of her... Hopefully this'll hit stores soon.

Pffft. So cheap... I was excited for her, but just look at the goggles! Hasbro, you really couldn't stamp the goggles in the head indents...?

DJ P0N3? Weeeeeeee!

But it looks a little haphazard. I was excited for this and now I am a little let down.

I'm loving how all these have glitter cutie marks. This is the 1st time I've seen G4 ponies with glitter that don't have tinsel.

wow those glasses look like crap. They're stamped on and dont even line up with the eye shape!

She looks pretty good, and I can't wait to buy one! I agree with what a few people have said, though... Having the glasses screened on is fine, but they look clumsy with those eye dents! Hopefully this isn't the final product.

I wonder what the glitter's all about... Maybe it has something to do with the set she'll be in?

I agree that the indents look like crap...but you guys do realize that if they made the glasses match the indents, they'd be a totally different shape, right..? I'd think that would make things look even worse/more wrong..

It's a better alternative than seeing the eye indents in the goggles, it looks unfinished and tacky.

Kinda stunned... Of all the head molds for the G4s, they chose Rarity mold? (it is either Rarity or Twilight, not sure from the picture...) I wonder why they didn't try using a Rainbow Dash head mold since the eye shape is at least closer to the shape of Vinyl's glasses...

*hides from flying fakies* Er...other than that, I guess if I don't have the right lighting...I'm still pretty stoked to have her in my collection. ^ ^; Bad as the indents may be, maybe some hair styling will temporarily hide them?

I'm loving how all these have glitter cutie marks. This is the 1st time I've seen G4 ponies with glitter that don't have tinsel.

Oooh! Yes! It's so refreshing to not have the tinsel, at least. :) Glitter is so much better to deal with.

Well, there's only the two unicorn molds. There isn't a single one that's round eyed and a unicorn. Stupid.. but I guess that's the cost of 'saving money.'

I don't mind the glitter, the eye indent is kinda weird, but thankfully there is no tinsel.

If there was tinsel, I'd be in fetal position right now.

The eyes look sooo tacky, and I'm not a huge fan of the glittery symbols on most of these ponies. But this pony isn't one I was hugely looking forward to anyway, so I'm not too put out. Her hair colors are really nice, at least.

I like the glitter a lot! And no tinsel is also good.
But... Really disappointed about her goggles. :c I wish Hasbro would have made them a removable accessory at least... Ah well.

Icicle: Oooh, I didn't even think of that. XD; I guess they didn't have much of a choice there unless they wanted to spend the money to make a new mold. :/ (but at least we are getting her! *dances* That is something to be happy about.) Maybe if they even make a fashion style, we can get her with snap on glasses.

Saply: lol! ;D Yes! Please please put pictures up when you do because she is bound to look awesome.

I wish they'd given her normal eyes and just made her a little pair of glasses as an accessory.

I agree that the eye indents don't look that good but i did expect that one. From a bit of a distance i think it should look fine. Though it might have helped if they made the glasses just a little bit bigger.

I'm not a fan of the character... but I'll get her for the set. Really not happy about the glasses, but seems to be a trend right now the them and some ponies. Probably the only reason why they painted the shades is due to they don't know her actual eye color and fans gave her red eyes for some reason (that doesn't make sense to me really) *ducks from fakies being thrown*

So I can say I do understand why they didn't paint her eyes and made shades removable (after giving it some thought first)

edit: Ooops I was wrong, she does have her eyes showing for like less than a second in the season final

Well crazy as it sounds I accept into my official collection only official merch with no modding (except for my Celestia XD who was my guinea pig when I was learning to customize) and being a huge DJ fan I'm SUPER excited she's even coming out as an official pony <3. I don't even care about the glasses just being stamped onto the head, because she's OFFICIAL! :frolic:

That doesn't mean I don't want an accurate custom one though, LOL :P

Eh, she's okay.  I'm not a huge fan of the character but I think she's cute enough and I'm probably buying the set anyhow.  I don't mind the glitter and the goggles don't really bother me (though I wish they were removable.)

I don't mind glitter when it forms the symbol, like with the early MLP unicorns and with some G3s, I believe, like that white one with a butterfly symbol.  Or when they mix it in the plastic, like with the Sparkle ponies.  But when they toss glue on a pony and then dump glitter on top of it, it looks bad IMO.  Like a preschooler's arts and crafts project.

At least they didn't randomly dump it on Vinyl's face, though, like they did with that one line of G3s.

Ponies have to be manly.  Glitter is not for men!

Although I do wish they'd glitter'd the mark itself instead of just smearing glitter on top of it xD

Glitter has always been used on ponies, nothing new or unusual there ;)

As for this pony..... Not sure if I'll get her or not.

I like this pony. I do not like her goggles though. I really wish they were removable. With her goggles, she would seem so...out of place in my herd. I like my ponies to look classic, no gadgets or do dads. I don't even like the ones with the big wings.

I will get her though, just because she is in the set. Hopefully I can sell her on Ebay and make money! :D But who knows, she might grow on me!

I personally love glittery symbols! I am excited for this set none the less!

I kind of wished Hasbro took this opportunity to make a round eyed unicorn sculpt. Then they can reuse that sculpt to their heart's content, plus adding variety to the line. I do like me some variety :B

Otherwise, I really love the colours used on her. Of course I'm going customize her like crazy but everytime I see Hasbro make a non pink/purple pony I get really happy.

A bit disappointed, mainly because as everyone else has mentioned I was hoping we'd finally get a round-eyed unicorn mold, but I guess not.
Regardless, excited for this toy. And I'm fine with the glitter! :D

I don't mind the glitter, except Flower Wishes and NMM have their glitter perfectly formed on their cutie mark while Vinyl Scratch/Trixie/Lemon Tarts seem to have it just around the cutie mark (like the glitter cutie marks we've seen in the G4 line so far).
Of course, they aren't officially released yet and might change, but my OCD can't help but be bothered by it right now!

But they really should have angled Vinyl Scratch's glasses to fit with the eye indents D: Maybe it won't look so bad in person.

Hmmmm...not really that in love with her to be honest.

The glitter however is a win for me! I'll have glitter and sparkles on anything! However, if I get this set it will be for Lemon Treats/Hearts and Flower Wishes only - Vinyl will probably not be staying...she is just a little too random for me.

I was kind of excited for this one because finally, dark blue hair! I'm pretty neutral on the character itself, but I'm OK with the glasses and glitter...but the eyes are SO disappointing! We've been asking for a different eye shape for unicorns all along, and yet they don't even bother to change it when the current mold doesn't even work!? Come on Hasbro! Don't be so lazy!

I like the glitter, but I do wish she had actual glasses, even if they had to have those regular unicorn eyes beneath them. Also, I know there are people who can do amazing things when styling pony hair, but she looks so strange with long hair.

I like glitter symbols, but I wish it was like the G1s were, where the symbols were actually made of glitter rather than glitter coated (like Firefly's, Glory's, etc.)  She's still cool though.

*edit*  I also wish she had actual glasses too!

Not sure how I feel about her.... I don't mind the glitter and I like her hair colors - but yes, the stamped on glasses does look off and seeing the eye shape through it is also weird...

I guess I'll have to see her in person

Because it makes no sense, no other normal release ponies have glitter, yet they decide to throw glitter on a set of ponies designed for collectors, ponies that are mostly only going to be released in the set, thus there will not be non-glitter releases of them. It's silly and stupid imo, they won't match normal releases. It's only fine on NMM. :/

Trixie is going to be in the set (and has been seen with glitter) as well as a normal release. I'm sure there's glitter in the set to entice little girls, regardless if this is a collector's set that is still their demographic. And the glitter should be able to be removed without damaging their symbols :/. It could have been worse. The symbols could be done IN glitter like G1.

Wouldn't it be better the G1 way though? Like NMM and Flower Wishes. I'm not concerned about Trixie, it's ponies like Scratch and Lemon hearts that get the short end of the stick. I would never remove glitter from ponies that have it, it's just an annoyance.

I'm gonna be brave and go ahead and go against the majority here hehe.

I'm not a huge fan of the pony itself. However with that beeing said I also wanted to say:

* I think glitter fit on her. She's a DJ. DJ's are at partys. At partys alot of people wear glitter :P This is how I justify it anyway. Personaly I don't mind glitter at all, but just thought I should throw that theory out there XD

* Secondly I don't mind the painted on glasses. I don't think it looks bad to be honest O.o. And if they did make her with removable glasses, imagen how easy it would be to loose them and by that having a DJ pony with no glasses which kinda is her trademark >.<
Also I don't get the hype about having new eyemolds? The G1's, G2's and G3's pretty much all had the exact same eyemold as eachother. That we're getting variety in the eyemolds at all with the G4's is great in itself alone.

Anywho, I do like her. A pony is a pony and I just love them all :D

The problem with the eye mold, at least in this case, is that if you look closely you can see the indent in the middle of the goggles, so it looks very odd and lazily done. I personally don't care about the share eye molds in any other case, I just wish the goggles were screened into the indents.

Hasbro... new poses please. Even your g1 and g2s have more then one pose...

I don't mind glitter but I would have rather had the glasses separate so you could take them off. I don't like ponies with stuff on them like that you can't take off. It would have been way cooler if the shades could be taken off and put back on.

I'm not that fussed with the glitter, because that probably could be removed with hot water and a little bit of scrubbing. But the glasses really put me off this pony. Hopefully this is just a prototype and not the final product.

I don't mind the glitter.  What really bothers me is that the accessories of the ponies in the collectors' set are painted on their bodies.  If it's a set for collectors, couldn't they come with removable accessories?  Even Nightmare Moon's armor is painted onto her body without any sort of molding for it.  Well, the shoes are sculpted on, from the brushable Celestia mold they used for her, but Nightmare Moon's helmet and necklace are painted directly onto her body and it just looks cheap and disappointing.  I wish they had sculpted accessories for her and made them removable!

Just like the glasses on this pony.  It just looks sloppy and bad.  It makes it appear as though she doesn't have eyes at all, just empty sockets behind the 'glasses'.  For collectors indeed.  You'd think Hasbro could have put a little more effort into these since they're trying  to cater their adult audience.  It seems so haphazard and slapped together.  Do they really think that this looks good?

Yeh I can see where people are comming from with that, but to be honest I couldn't even see it untill I looked really closely now after your post hehe.

As for the printed on glasses not beeing exactly like the shape of her eyes... Well how many of us have sunglasses that are the exact same shape as our eyes? :P

This. It's clearly not a collector set, as it's not collector quality. This is hasbro being their normal cheap selves and making a quick buck on something they can sell to collectors.

Meh, I'm not impressed with her. I don't like that the glasses don't align with the eye indents and I also don't like that the glasses are just stamped on.

So the collector's set is Trixie, Flower Wishes, DJ P0N-3/Vinyl Scratch, Nightmare Moon, Lemon Hearts, Pinkie Pie & Rainbow Dash, correct? Out of all of them, I only want Trixie, Flower Wishes and Lemon Hearts so all the others will end up in my trade box. I just hope the set won't be super expensive.

Yay more ponies.   I am happy they made her, but I would really rather they would have just put normal eyes on her. Bonus points would have been involved if they added removable glasses.

Also, glitter, ok I will take glitter. If you really hate it, I bet it is removable. I think it is pretty and ties together the set nicely.

... they should've just given her normal eyes instead of those horrible glasses lol

Bleh, I really don't like her glasses. She isn't really how I'd pictured her at all.. I'm not keen on her mane either, it should be styled differently! Not cool, man.

Personally out of the collector's set, I'm only looking forward to Flower Wishes and Pinkie. And Zecora, if she's being included with it..

Edit: ew, you can see her eye indents!! I really don't like that! D:

For collectors indeed.  You'd think Hasbro could have put a little more effort into these since they're trying  to cater their adult audience.  It seems so haphazard and slapped together.  Do they really think that this looks good?

This. It's clearly not a collector set, as it's not collector quality. This is hasbro being their normal cheap selves and making a quick buck on something they can sell to collectors.

Honestly i think they are still trying to appeal a bit to kids too. With the glitter and the two pink ponies and such. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Releasing such a big set with higher quality ponies only aimed at collectors would be quite expensive and a bit of a risk. I mean, there are 7 ponies in that one pack. (I'm not looking forward to getting that thing shipped...) I also feel these resemble the toy fair prototypes very well so i don't understand where some of the high expectations came from. We knew she would not have removable glasses and the chances of those indents being there were always high (Just like with Luna). It's a pack with characters that are popular amongst the older fans. Some characters that would otherwise not have gotten any kind of release. That's really all there is to it.

Besides, it's not that bad we can't see her eyes. That way people will not bicker about what shade of red they are. XP

Add me to the "don't like the way they did the glitter" camp. Now don't get me wrong I love glitter like mad *throws glitter everywhere* but they couldn't have kept the glitter just on the note? I wonder if there is a way to remove just the glitter around the note while keeping the note glittery?

If you're very careful, a Q-tip dipped in acetone may do the trick.

Yikes. Well, I WAS excited to have her in my collection, but I think I'll pass on buying the Hasbro release and just invest in a custom with the correct eyes and glasses.

Still looking forward to the Zecora release, though!

I was very joyful about this one pony since unicorns is my thing. But deary me, hasbro can't you at least make more professional accessories? I mean look at the LPS line they had tons of stuff to dress up your pet, can't you make some extra equipment for our ponies to dress in luxury?
I wouldn't mind if they just made her regular eyes, but I don't know if I'll get her now. Since stamped on stuff isn't my thing really. If I do get her, she'll be customized. I'm a bit sceptical now, since most ponies feels a bit half done compared to the quality of the g1. It's not about quality but quantity nowadays it seems. :lookround:

I think she is cute, but I would have loved to see eyes and removable glasses :)

As for the glitter, I don't mind it too much.

I'm not that fussed with the glitter, because that probably could be removed with hot water and a little bit of scrubbing.

Not if it's like the G3 glitter.  I wanted to customize a G3 unicorn, including dying it a new color, so I had to get the glue and glittter off her horn.  (Almost all the G3 unicorns had glitter on their horns.)

Oh. My. GOD.  I had to practically BATHE her in pure acetone to get it off.  And even that isn't feasible for Vinyl, because the glitter is over her symbol.  So if it's goodbye glitter . . . it's also goodbye symbol.

It's not that I hate glitter.  It's that I hate this specific way of applying glitter.  It just "breaks up" the look of a pony.   It makes the pony look . . . I don't know . . . pieced up.  Like, you have this pony that is 95% plain-bodied and then it has this random splotch of glue and glitter globbed onto it.

I would be doing cartwheels and handsprings if Hasbro had done a G1-style glitter symbol where the glitter actually "makes up" the entirety of the symbol.  I can't articulate why, but that makes much more aesthetic sense to me.

o.0 When I saw the prototype of DJ at the Toy Fair with the glasses painted half-hazardly over the eye indents of the original unicorn mold, I really thought that was just a prototype and they would have a better look when the actual toy was ready.... Too much to expect from Hasbro I guess?

She would still make a perfect base for a custom with the correct eyes and glasses. Easier than rehairing a Rarity anyways.

Glitter, no glitter.  Weird glasses, no glasses...whatever the case I SO want her!!!  Why?  The hair!  Oh my goodness I just love the hair colour and the music symbol.
