Are there any girl ponies you think are boys?

:blush:when i first saw the mlp fim advert for the show i though Rainbow Dash was a boy i still do sometimes except when she is wearing dresses

Hmmm... when I was little, I always played that Firefly, Bubbles, and Bow Tie were boys. I never gave it a second thought until much later, when the Big Brothers came out and I was collecting instead of playing. Wierd, huh?
I like how FiM has given a specific "look" (beyond draft horse hooves) to the colts. I wish Hasbro would bring out some colt ponies...

I had some of the opposite issues. I used to think some of the boy ponies (especially the babies) were girls, especially if pink was involved. Then again I was 5-6 and to me all the ponies were girls. :lol:

Brights Brightly switches genders from time to time. Silver Glow is definitly a boy. :)

Thanks to the Kimono's Townhouse webcomic, I can no longer see Brights Brightly as a girl :nope:
And I used to think G4 Scootaloo was a boy for a little while, hehe.

G3 Water Fire, I always refer to the pony as a He. xD and for some reason Vinyl Scratch seems very, boyish(?) to me.

TAF Scoops, Baby Dangles, Dibbles (? The yellow twin of the Nibbles/Dibbles set), Baby Alphabet, Tootsie sometimes. Also, my sparkle Twinkler came to me with an extreme hair cut/mohawk, so she is sometimes a boy too. :)

I thought DJ-P0N was a guy. I knew Lemon Drop was a girl, but she played the part of a guy in all my adventures that required a guy. XD

DJ Pon3 and Scootaloo.. I didn't know Scootaloo was a girl until someone said "girls", referring to the CMC.. >A<;
As for G1.. Whizzer. It's probably her symbol and her voice in the show sometimes seemed a bit boyish. Sorry Whizzer! D:

G1 Firefly was a boy in my childhood herd :lol:

When I was little Raincurl was the boy because she was my only G1 :lol:
And Whistle Wishes... G3 unicorns look like stallions /:)

Nightglider was a boy. My mom bought it to be a boy pony for me. I wanted a boy pony and it was only pony she could find that wasn't either pink or super girly.
I got a SS Twist in a lot with some ponies as a teen collector. It had a bobbed tail and I thought it looked like a boy so he became one in the herd. I also made G3 Whishawhirl and Autumn Skye boys, since they never made boy G3s.

As a kid I was convinced that Gingerbread and Peppermint Crunch were boys (and was quite shocked to learn otherwise years later).

:muffin: Pony, I could have sworn she was a boy. Not really sure why, I never confused Rainbow or Scootaloo as boys which seem to be a common mistake, but something about :muffin: Pony screamed 'male' to me. To be honest, I still kind of prefer her as a boy.

Rainbow Dash and Vinyl Scratch could easily be boys. That doesn't mean that I think they're boys though. I think I may have thought Vinyl was a guy at first though.

I used to think Applejack was a boy pony when I was a toddler :D
After all, only a boy pony could be a couch potato who watches boxing on TV :P
(and no, I do not know how my childhood imagination warped Applejack into that either, though I think it has something to do with me being scared of the TV series, the fact that the name has "Jack" in it, and a particular Foghorn Leghorn short).

Moonstone was my first pony and I've always had a hard time seeing her as a girl. Still do.

Baby Noddins was always a boy until I found out she was girl. I was shocked!

Nightlight will always be a boy in my mind, and I'm always a bit surprised whenever I see someone refer to him as her, even though that is its 'real' gender XD

Alot of my ponies became boys due to shortage when playing "pony house", I always chose the parents after the babys looks (white + dark pink = light pink baby) I didn't know about genetics but mixing colors :P
But I still didn't consider them as a boy though. Baby Snookums is a boy to me though, something about the body mould, cutiemark and name reminds me of the baby brother ponies.
Edit: Gusty was a permanent "boy" in my herd XD

I always think its amazing that people seem to come up with the same G1 ponies that they considered to be boys when younger - Applejack and Gusty always seem to get a mention - they must give off masculine waves!
I sometimes wonder if I was a very naive child - every pony in my herd was gender neutral [or at the very least they were all girls] lol! Which were boys and which were girls never really came into my mind and if pushed I probably just called them all "her". And now I am an adult I know which ones are supposed to be girls and which ones are supposed to be boys so I unfortunately cant say I think of any "girl" ponies as boys....maybe with the exception of Cutesaurus [although not a pony] sometimes I just cant help but think of her as him.

Shady and Buttons are totally boys.
Possibly Bowtie. She may just be butch. I haven't decided yet.

I always made G2 Silver Swirl into a boy and he would always marry Dainty Dove in the chappel xDDDD And then they would have Baby Swirly as a child~ I also matched other G2s, like Lady Cupcake (boy) with Lady Lightheart, Magic Motion Ivy (boy) with Pretty Parlor's Ivy (the long-haired) and some others I don't quite recall. All my G1s were girls because I never had many when I was a child :)

Tuneful! I didn't even realize she was a girl until I got her and saw she had eyeshadow on, lol.
Even then.. I still ignore it and she's still a boy to me xD

Oddly the only pony I ever thought was the opposite gender, wasn't technically a pony. He's a zebra!
I always thought Zig-Zag was a boy and found it incredibly odd reading his backcard later in life, where it said "she". I still think of him as a he.

I am a lady. ;) No but seriously...you are correct, it's Dibbles who's the yellow one. Her pink hair fades a lot, so I can definitely see why she'd be mistaken for a boy with white hair.

I picture G1 Bow Tie as a boy too sometimes. Ah, I know there's another pony too but I can't think of it :lol:

Mine still has pink hair, but he just seems like a boy to me! It seems like in all the twin sets, I see one as a boy and one as a girl, too.

It's so interesting to see the ones being misstaken for boys alot, and I agree about the pony friends (Kingsley for example, lady lions don't have manes unless they have hormone issues)
I also always made the pony twins as one boy one girl XD it's more fun that way.

Most of our (my sisters and mine) were boys at some point: we had all our ponies marry my Pony Bride :lol:

My G2's always changed personalities and such, so they were never the same ponies, but if I needed a boy, Sun Sparkle would be one. Didn't like her much so she wasn't much played with... Magic Motion Ivy would sometimes be one too. I didn't often have ponies playing boys because my ponies were always going on adventures and I didn't get the need for boys. I seldom played they were in families (the babies were always oddly independent and parentless XD).
But then, it's hard to tell which G2's are boys unless you read their cards, because of their lack of... differences from the females :-P

G1 Twist. I had a so soft version of her and she was faded to gray but I didn't know her natural color was purple. As a kid I thought she was a boy, not really knowing about feathered hoof clydesdale boy ponies. :P
But, her natural color is purple or a darkened purple so she still looks like a boy to me. :P
