I used to identify as genderqueer, but I feel pretty much entirely female now. Gender can be fluid! :]
-
Im female, but gender is not important to me.
-
I'm a dominant female ^^
-
All girl here.
-
A real girly girl here
-
All girl here in every way shape and form, but for some reason I always tend to get along better with the guys O.o
-
I'm female. I have a teeny-tiny bit of tomboy to me though.
-
Female, but for some reason, on forums, people seem to often think I'm male, even with female-character avatars.
-
I'm a girly-girl, but ironically I don't particularly identify with one gender or the other, just 'girliness'. I'd be perfectly content being a boy as long as I could still portray myself as a fluffy pink princess XD.
-
I am pretty all-girl here as well... :P
I love that picture you posted! XD
-
I'm definitely a girly girl. Pink, bows, lace, ribbons, sparkles, glitter, the whole works! :D
-
XX chromosomes, here. Female through-and-through.
-
Absolutely 100% feminine lady here.
*Starts singing "I enjoy being a girl"* :P
-
Born female in sex, but I don't really subscribe to gender binary.
-
All girl here in every way shape and form, but for some reason I always tend to get along better with the guys O.o
Same!
-
Female and loving it!!
-
I'm a lady.
-
Androgynous man of female experience here. I identified as genderqueer for a long time. Sometimes I still think it fits. I seem to be pretty close to the middle of the gender scale.
Something interesting is that you can have females who have XY chromosomes and males that have XX. There's even people who have both XY and XX chromosomes. And I have a friend whose chromosomes are XXY.
-
i am cisgendered and self identified female and very thankful for it. not that another option is lesser than, what i mean is that i am thankful to have always been certain. i've seen several of my beautiful friends go through tw pain of realization and transformation, all coming out even more beautiful because of it. but all the same, i am thankful to have avoided that turmoil.

Gender and sex are female for me! One of my ex's came out to me as trans before we broke up, and I know what turmoil they went thrpough with their family before we stopped talking. I honestly think that one of the reasons we broke up was that he was insecure with becoming male in our relationship, as I am usually more attracted to women. I told him it was fine, but a week or so after he came out as a man to me, he broke it off.

Floating around in the space of do not give a flying rodent's posterior.
But I really like skirts.
(ps stuntmang i think i'm in love with your avatar.)

Birth sex is Male, and honestly I'm not exactly thrilled with it but I'll live.
Although I do present as Male, My interests and Personality tend to be more Androgynous. I have a high admiration for females and I am very often inspired and influenced by them. I have always loved colorful, pretty, girly things but I also like some masculine things as well.
What I have more of a problem with is gender stereotyping and people who judge others based on their interests or lifestyle. People should not have to go through hell because someone else doesn't agree with their ways. I should not have to worry about liking stereotypically girly things without being accused of being a homosexual (not that there's anything wrong with it, I'm just not), or being called a pansy, sissy, ect. Liking a particular thing does not make you a weaker person.

True. Genetically, you're a male if you have a Y chromosome, since only certain things are tied to an Y chromosome, and (usually) having one X chromosome makes you much more likely to have certain genetic issues.
You can change how you present yourself, and what's in your pants, but you can't change your chromosomes. So that's the one thing on the gender/sex issue that is (currently) permanent.
I know that XXX is fairly common, and that you can have 4 sex chromosomes. The bare minimum is XO, or just having one X chromosome, and that person would be considered genetically female. You can't have 0 sex chromosomes, because then the embryo just won't develop.

I'm all girl :)

It's important to remember, though, that biological sex and gender are two different things.

Oui, but of course.
Isn't biological more of "what parts you have" than "what genes you have" though? Because I've seen people talk about their biological sex referring to being intersex or hermaphroditic, while that's impossible to have, say, intersex genes.
-
It can get a bit confusing at times. People often use the terms sex and gender interchangeably but they're not the same. Gender is what's between the ears.
For quite a while I wondered exactly what I was--I knew I wasn't a woman but I did like a lot of stereotypically feminine things...then the day came that I realized I can like stuff like ponies and dolls and sewing and still be a guy. Big "duh" moment there, lol.
-
This is doing my head in a bit, I think simply cause I have been studying too long. I am born female, but don't really like labels. I am not genderqueer, just, I see all people as people I suppose.
-
I have ovaries. :)
-
Female :)
-
I'm female but definately not a girly girl :)
-
Voted. Definitely a girl.

I remember you pondering that on the other thread, but you never actually answered the topic you were replying to...

good topic and the bane of my existence :P I´m biologically as female as it gets but I always felt more like a guy. Ponies are pretty much the only girly thing I like. I feel horribly uncomfortable when presented with the choice of male or female, as I´m neither and unless it's biologically important, I find it to be an intrusion of my privacy when I have to check either option on a form or application :S
It just, should not matter at all. As fingerpaints said, people are people, why should your chromosomes decide what you should like?
The problem with me is that because I look like such a girl, I am usually lumped into the stereotype of "typical girls" :S I've had guys talk to me many times and start a sentence with "you girls bla bla" and that makes me really angry :P I did consider surgery seriously, but I´m just not unhappy enough to justify spending thousands of dollars on changing my body. It def helps that I have been loved for who I am, without the need to hide it or pretend, so now i´m pretty happy with the way things are :)

Same here! Even when I have my gender on my page, they often overlook it and assume I'm male.
-
Female, nothing else to it for me :)
-
I'm a girl. :)
-
Female in both gender and physical attributes. But I admit I'm not that 'girly' for the most part. XD
-
*looks down* Still a girl physically. Emotionally I'm probably closer to the middle of the gender spectrum, but whatever. I'm here... I'm human... what more do you want?
-
female, hands down :)
-
I'm a girl most of the times. Sometimes it gets really boring, so I just switch. Too bad it doesn't really work, damn.
-
I'm a macho dude! :lmao:
-
I'm a girl, and I call myself a tomboy.
-
Born female sex, identify with male gender. Currently three months into hormonal transition! :D
-
Androgynous female here.
-
Currently three months into hormonal transition! :D
Awesome! Congrats!
-
Being human is enough for me. I think I am gender blind actually. visitors can't see pics , please register or login
I am of the female gender.
-
I am a girl but i am often told i post like a guy online and being a half geek half nerd does not help. I do not mind though i like being on the boyish side.
-
Currently three months into hormonal transition! :D
Awesome! Congrats!
:D Thanks!
-
Congrats, flyaway! How's that gping for you? :more guys muahhaahhaa soon we shall rule!:
...Was that my outside voice?
-
Congrats from me as well! :D wish I were as brave as you ^^
-
Congratulations! I hope it goes smoothly for you. I met my ex when he was later his journey with transition (it doesn't really end, I suppose) and he shared with me everything he went through.
-

Congrats! The hubby and I have a good friend who has been transitioning for months now. She only presents as male at work now, since that environment isn't really friendly towards that type of thing. I'm just happy to have a new girl friend, my friends are usually guys.
It makes me feel really lucky to have been born into the correct body, that's for sure.
-
Born female sex, identify as male(well bi-gendered so I drift between worlds lol) :cheer:
-
I'm female, though not a complete girly girl and I have been in a committed, same-sex relationship for five and a half years <3 She is not as excited about ponies (or the Fair) as I am but she is excited for me, lol.
:)
:good:
-
Woah, I feel outnumbered. Just to let all the ladies out the know that I'm single. :lovey: :P

With an avatar like yours, you'll have to fend off the waves of ladies coming for you with a broom.

An all around geek gal! Not girly girl, not afraid to get dirty, or break a nail, or lift heavy objects, or I do have a stubborn streak a thousand miles wide that will NOT allow me to wait around for a, "big ole strong man", to do stuff for me simply because I'm a woman. Heck, when Dad and I were moving stuff in our back yard, he had brought home this massive and SUPER heavy Chinese statue for the corner garden. I grew impatient waiting for him to get out of the bathroom, so I grabbed the hand truck from one of the sheds, lifted the statue myself onto the handtruck, and started hauling it to the garden myself. He finally came out, saw me half way there, and ran up to say he could get it. I just cat-hissed at him and told him to back off, I got it. Yes, I hiss at people ( thank you, Tammy! XP ).
-
As I said in the other thread, I'm androgynous. But physically female. Since English lacks good andro-pronouns (and I don't like the sound of the "hir"s and "zir"s and such), I prefer people calling me "she" over "he", and I do the same when referring to my total-self-insert androgynous roleplaying character. If I could get rid of my girly bits without adding any boy bits, I'd be in heaven! But I'm not interested in surgery, and I don't think hormones would do much for someone who doesn't want to increase either their female OR male traits.
Total tomboy too. Pretty much everyone who meets me online assumes I'm a guy, which has made for some amusing times. :D As well as those awkward moments when a straight girl gets a crush on me and then gets embarrassed when I mention being female. Luckily, that hasn't happened often. I'm panromantic myself, but sex/gender are an issue for many other people in their relationships, and I accept that.
-
Born female, identify as male, but love to take a dip in the middle waters sometimes. I got myself a pretty new lolita dress the other day!~ 8D

Chicks dig the Ellis Pony. :silly:
-
Traditional male with a soft side. I like girly things to a point, and enjoy writing strong female characters in my works. definitely identify as male though
-
Cisgendered female here.
Love to see all the trans* and genderqueer people here. :D I love that gender is so fluid. I'm very rigidly female, but I love to see those who can be more androgenous!
-
I'm a total girl. I love my frilly dresses and high heels. But I also a nerdy geologist, so I love going out and getting muddy, too!
Awesome that we have such a diverse group here!! :)
-
Okay...what are "cisgender" and :genderqueer"? And here I thought I had heard and learned all of the gender terms XD
-
Cisgender= someone who was born in the body they identify with (loose terms I think) so a male identified male, female identified female etc. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Genderqueer= According to wikipedia is everyone who identifies outside of that. I guess I'd be considered that since I identify as both.
-
I'm a girly girl and I love it!
-
I'm glad to see people here handling the topic with lots of understanding and maturity.
I have times where I seriously consider that I might be genderqueer, or... it's hard to explain, but I just use girl because it's easier and what I've always lived with. Can't seem to get it off my mind lately though. I'm just a very confused human being

If you're curious about it, try it out. If you end up not enjoying it, no harm done and you can go about your life like you did before. If it turns out that's your thing, then hooray! You're happier!

This, I think for genderqueer. Though I thought genderqueer was actual even outside of those who define themselves to gender bianary? So if you're male who identifies as a woman, then it's not? I'm not sure though.
I just know cisgender is used so 'normal' isn't. P:
-
I think genderqueer is also used for those who identify as nothing or outside of the gender binary. Wondering if anyone else feels like a gender chameleon...like their gender adapts to the situation/people they are with.
-
I identify as male and hope to transition fully in the future. Cool thread, thanks for this.
*Forgot to say I'm FAAB, but you can probably tell that b/c I mentioned transitioning.

You're welcome! Didn't even intend for this to be a trans/GQ/whatever support thread, but I might turn it into a general gender/sexual minority thread for discussing those things (with a mod's blessing).
-
I was born a women. I'm a total girly girl. I love this thread. =)
-
I'm a girl. But I'm a very, very manly girl :P

Congratulations! :D
-
I'm a cisgender girl.
I'm also very glad to see people handling this topic so well. I have a close friend who is FTM and I know a few other trans individuals personally, so I hate when people are rude about it. But this is great.
-
Ah! Thanks for the info!
-
I'm male, although I seem far more feminine than I probably should.
-
Rion--me too lol I often mistaken for a girl, which is kinda annoying. >P
-
I'm female but I identify as somewhat androgynous O: though I sometimes dress girly.
-
(huddles with the tiny group of males in an ocean of girls)sure they outnumber us 10-1 but i like the odds:)

If we guys know is that if the ladies love anything, it's Ponies. :silly:
-
:lmao: Ocean of girls. That's a nice thought XD
-
Yep, the though we are outnumbered it not at all unpleasant XD
-
Haha, could be worse guys I'm female (just part of the lesbian community ;) ), and because my hair is short and I wear more like neutral clothes I get called a boy all the time. Least until they hear me speak. Then there is that awkward moment where they are unsure if they should apologize or just ignore it. They always stare at me though with this embarrassed look like "OMG"
My wife makes fun of me and says I seem like some major...well to put it in her terms "tomboy dyke", but I love things like unicorns and ponies and soft fluffy stuffed animals. I think just everyone can enjoy some pretty ponies.
Hooray for a variety of pony collectors! :cheer:
-
I'm a girl, and pretty much as girly as it gets :)
-
Gay masculinist.
-
physically female, but that's about it. I don't believe in gender, it simply doesn't exist in my mind. :) but when asked, I answer female... as most people aren't capable of a discussing these things, unfortunately. :/
-
I'm male through and through, but I care nothing about gender roles. I'm comfortable with my gender and I do what I want, regardless if it's considered feminine or masculine.
-
I'm female gender and sex!A girly girl - I like glitter :glitter: ribbons, bows and everything I can make my hairstyle with! :silly:
But when it comes to making friends,I forget who's male and who's female :shy: :straw:
