So I've got two versions of Pina Colada and they're very different colours. It's hard to show with my phone but one is a flurescent reddish coral, whereas the other is more a pinkish purple and isn't flurescent. I'm certain the more purple one isn't faded. Are the Tropical ponies set like the Rockin' Beats who had US/Euro variants like Pretty Beat and Tuneful?

Yes there is a difference in their colour :) As far as I remember we ended up concluding that the red one is Euro version and Purplish one is US. i´ve only ever found two here in Iceland and they've both been red ^^ congrats on having both :)

Is one marked China and one marked Hong Kong? Some G1's were made in 2 versions with slight differences x

Vintergaten: Cool, thank you. I love variants ^.^
Willa: They're both marked China. x
Do any of the other Tropical ponies have variants?
-
Not that I am aware of ^^ however, they have been packaged with different combs depending on where they were sold as seen here:

the US ones came with the brush and Euro ones came with the comb :)

Congrats on having both, I have only owned the pinkish purple one :)

My two childhood Pina Coladas were red with a fish comb :)

Vintergarten: Thanks, I didn't know that :)
Partypony: Thanks :) I didn't realise there even were two versions until I ended up with two by a fluke.
Shimmer: Cool, were they Euro ones?
-
Yes its a bit like the 2 Pretty Beats, 2 Baby Starbows thing - Euro release verses US release. We got ponies usually 6 to 12 months delay in Europe over the US therefore ponies were often different batches from the factory [similar to how in Euro we get no pat pend versions of the ponies which had pat pend versions in the US - simply because when the line/sets were out in the US the pat pend was applicable but by the time Euro gets the same line/set the batches out of the factory have the pat pend removed as its no longer relevant]...and that was a long way to say the reason for the different colours! Yes, its different batches but the reason for difference is different releases.
I have been trying to track down the second one for a while now! Congrats on having both.

Thanks for the explanation Hathorcat, I'd wondered about that :) Thank you, I got her from the Arena a little while ago :)
